  1. This might be TMI but since surgery every time I am intimate I get so much pain and urgency to pee it isn't ever a bladder infection.
It's driving me to the point of tears because I want to be intimate with my partner but it hurts so much after.
The doctors don't seem to care and I'm losing my mind....

  2. It is really important to keep a journal of what you are actually consuming. That way you can take it to your doc and say.. hey, look! I'm only eating 200 calories a day! Maybe you already are, but if you only have the info you just gave, it's not enough. Measure (weigh) everything, and write down what, how much, what time, how you felt... everything.
You should be pretty comfortable consuming at least 800 calories a day of food. It sounds like you might not be getting that much. This is something you should bring up with your surgeon, because strictures can happen, and it will make you unable to eat or drink enough. The idea of Water hurting for a day and a half.. this sounds all wrong to me. If I take too big a swallow, it'll hurt for a few seconds, or maybe a minute. Not a day!

No the pain passes but then I have another sip and it's uneasy again. It's not constant pain. I see my surgeon next week and will for sure bring that up with him.

I am eating about 750 to 800 calories on good days. Some days a bit less but I try to get at least 750 in.

I'm trying to figure out if it's normal to have your stomach be uppity randomly one day here and there then go back to 'normal'

  3. The biggest thing that surprises me post surgery is my change in personality. I am more aware of how toxic some people in my life are and I am no longer tolerating or enabling their behavior. It was like a night and day switch. I don't know if it's a physical/hormonal change, or an emotional change, but right now I feel like I am fighting for me and have no patience for the poor behavior of others around me.

This is exactly what I am experiencing at this moment in time. I can't stand some of the people I thought I could never live without. I have ended the one relationship that was the most toxic for me and after the first day I felt like the weight of the world had been lifted off my shoulders. And i feel happy now that he is gone. This is a great thing I think. I'm standing up for myself and what I need for the first time in forever.

The other thing I wish I knew was the body image things and how quickly they would present! I am having a great time seeing the weightloss but the excess skin is hard already and I am only 16 weeks out (63 lbs down since surgery and 90 lbs if you include the presurgery loss) I am looking into counsellors now because I am struggling

  4. Okay so I am 16 weeks Post Op and feel like I eat nothing. Everything sits funny except for cheese and shredded chicken. But every 2 weeks or so I go through a few days where anything and everything hurts. Drinking Water (flavored because plain water hurts) even feels like I have swallowed something wrong. It lasts about a day and a half then goes away. Kinda feels like morning sickness in a sense (Not pregnant I have done tests)

I can't drink Protein Drinks. I know I am not getting enough protein... can anyone offer any advise as to what I can do? Or if this uppity tummy is normal and will pass?

  5. I'd agree to contact your surgeon. I'm 9 days out and just today realized I could take a bigger sip than I normally could a few days ago. I think it may have caused you some extra gas but to be on the safe side, especially since your in pain, contact your surgeon.
I've forgotten to take mine antacid as well a few days back. The Doc told me to take it now so I did. Not too much pain for the additional meals.

OK I will call him now.

  6. Sleeved a week ago. I'm healing well. My incisions are sore but I don't have pain. The gas is still annoying but I never had it as bad as it seems others have. The hardest part has truly been that I can't stand Protein  powder. It makes me gag. I also have what feels like hunger at night. Wondering if it's gas or reflux. Im just generally uncomfortable and not sleeping well but im blessed. I've had a good experience thus far. Post op appointment tomorrow. 16 pounds down since 3/28.

I am beginning to feel hungry at night as well too... I am only 6 days post op. I find I sip more Water at night because of it.

I think once I switch to purees and soft solids this will pass
