  1. The Upper GI came out good. They said that everything was doing what it was supposed to be doing. They said that the only thing they thought would be causing the pain in my shoulder and stomach is trapped gas. I don't know what it is, but it sure hurts really bad. It was kind of neat to see the band and everything on the x ray machine while I was drinking the barium.

  2. I am having severe pain on my left side. In three different spots. I had my surgery done 19 days ago and I started to have pain in my stomach about 4 inches to the left of my belly button last night. Right now, I am having a severe sharp pain on the left side of my stomach about half way down. And every now and then today, I have got the same kind of pain in my left colar bone area. Any ideas what this might be. I called my doctor and they scheduled me for a upper GI tomorrow morning. But if this pain gets any worse, I might be at the emergency room tonight.

  3. Does anyone know if you can ride the rides at parks like six flags and stuff? I am very excited about this. Last time I went to Carowinds with my kids I got emberrassed by some kid trying to stuff me in the seat of a roller coaster. I am really looking forward to being able to ride these rides with my kids in the future when I loose enough weight.

  4. Is the part about not being able to have sugar after your surgery a diet thing or will it affect your band and give you problems. I am asking because I went to the grocery store and bought what i thought was splenda. Come to find out it is a plenda blend. It has splenda and sugar in it. Can I use it? I do not want to go all the way back to the grocery store.

  5. It is my 4th day after surgery. I am having problems swollowing anything. I have this pain that comes from the bottom of my chest all the way up to my throat. I don't know what this is. I think this might be acid reflux. But I am not sure. I am woundering if anyone else is having this problem and if someone can tell me what this is. I have only been able to drink one bottle of Water today and half a Protein Shake. Help!!!!!!!

  6. I had my band placed on the 24th. I have been sitting around here for 2 days watching my family eat and woundering if I will be able to eat normal meals with them again. I am living on liquid right now and I hate every minute of it. I was just woundering how much you are able to eat and when can you start eating some of the same things that you use to eat. Just not as much.

  7. My doc told me that I could go home that same day also. My insurance approved me for 2 days total. So I told my doc that I wanted to take that extra day to make sure everything was good to go. That was just me. I am glad I did, because it made me feel better when I came home.

  8. I am getting my band on 4-24. I am nervous about this. I have been out of work with back problems since January 3. I sit around the house every day with nothing to do. I am supposed to be on a pre-op Atkins diet. It is very hard to just sit around home and not eat. What do you guys do to keep your mind off of eating when at home?

  9. I just found this site and signed up. I was approved to get my band. I will be getting this done April 24th and I am a little nervous. Is there any advice you guys can give me for between now and then. And what to expect after I get it done.

    Thanks.
