  1. 2-3 months isn't a stall, it's eating maintenance. Count calories for a week using MyFitnessPal. Everything that passes your lips gets logged including liquids.

Use the calculator here (https://tdeecalculator.net) to find your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) and if your calories consumed are within a hundred of your TDEE, you're eating too much.

I do count calories and I use my fitness pal. That calculator shows 2200 calories and I eat about 1200 a day.

  2. I had my surgery 5/31. Starting weight 215, currently 175 and have been stuck here for about 2-3 months. I changed workouts, foods, everything. Drinking so much more Water than ever in my life too, but the scale just isn’t budging. Anyone have any tips? I eat mostly Protein and some vegetables. Hardly any carbs. I don’t eat too late at night and I’m relatively active because I work 2 jobs.
    Someone, anyone, help!

  3. Hey ladies!
I need some shopping advice! 84 lbs later and (at least on tops) I am in the smallest sizes in the brands that I have been wearing for many years (mostly for work clothes - typically Talbots, Eloquii and Lane Bryant). The 14's in LB and Eloquii now fit me and in a month will be too big. I am still a 16 in bottoms (of course my rear and thighs are lagging behind everything else).
I have not shopped for standard sizes in over 20 years and my body will not be a normal standard size - I am loosing unevenly and I know that will catch up, but truthfully my body is somewhat awkwardly shaped now.
Are there any brands that you really liked in the transition? That were curvy-friendly and forgiving for those in between sizes? And, I am not a big spend-all-day-in-the-store-trying-stuff-on kind of person.
Also can I just say I don't understand how I can weigh 250 and be in a 16W. My brain just does not compute that but at the end of the day, regardless of the size I still need clothes that fit.

I have not handled it yet. Haha. My work pants are almost at the point of falling off and I'm trying to hold out until after our wedding because clothes are so damn expensive and I'm just going to shrink through them anyway (fingers crossed)!

I hear you. I hate shopping and it's a chore to try clothes on.

But congrats on losing 84 lbs! Amazing!

  4. I'm struggling with head hunger today, and most of the week. My stomach feels full but I keep feeling hungry and I know it's in my head. What do you guys do when that happens? I'm so stressed out about my wedding and I think thats part of the problem. Normally I'd turn to food! And my dr. just cancelled my appointment and I can't get in again til 11/6 because of the wedding and honeymoon since my schedule is so crazy finishing up the wedding plans and I'm also working 2 jobs and going to school for my masters.

    Any advice is extremely appreciated.

    Thanks.

  5. I'm so ashamed of myself. Over the last week and a half I have been going through a lot of ****.
My emotional eating habit is terrible. I've been eating fast food and drinking soda. I'm sabotaging myself but the problem is I'm so f**king addicted to fast food and soda I keep saying "i'll give it up tomorrow" I've been saying that for a week and a half now.
I'm stressed, emotional, feeling a little depressed, my anxiety is through the roof and I can't stop myself from driving to a fast food drive thru on my lunch break or going to the food court at the mall on my lunch break or having a soda before dinner.
What the hell is wrong with me?? I'm struggling so bad. I know I can't eat as much as I used to but the fact that I'm falling into these old habits and can't get a hold of myself is terrifying.
I just needed to share this and reach out. I'm just struggling. I feel overwhelmed and can't handle anything so I just give up and eat...

Also, I sent you a PM

  6. I had that problem too. Not as bad but I had it. It helps to meal prep and when you get those urges, eat something you already have made. When you do that, the urge and hunger will go away because you've gotten something in your stomach. And since it's a lot smaller, it takes less to do the trick. Be strong and eventually you will break the habit of running to a fast food place. You can do it. We all can. We just need a little help and a little support!

  7. This YouTube video explains why we're stalling and why we shouldn't be working out as much as we are. I have been killing myself in the gym with no success and this video really helped me cope with my stall and realize what I have to do to break it. I wanted to share it because I think it will be really helpful for some other people too!

  8. Also, PS - weight loss is 80% in the kitchen and 20% in the gym. MANY, many people lose weight without ever setting foot in a gym. Do I suggest that? Nope - working out is great for your mental health, burning a few extra calories, and for tightening and toning. But will it make or break your weight loss? Nope. Stick to your plan in the kitchen, and I promise - a few days off from the gym won't bring weight gain.

Thank you [emoji173]️ I really appreciate your response. I will cut back at the gym and keep eating the right things and hopefully something will happen!

  9. Sit on your butt for a couple of days to give your body a rest. Eat a little more than normal - like 100 calories more per day then get back on your workout schedule. I read the book by the extreme weight loss guy, can't remember his name- he said sometimes you need to take a break from the rigor.

This is the best news I've heard all day. I would love for this to work!

  10. I've tried upping Protein. Upping Water (it worked for a short while). Working out more. Counting calories. Going back to shakes for 2 meals.

And I've been at the same weight for a month. I'm at my wits end. I want to do badly to get into the next 10 lb range and I keep going from 180.6 to 182 and back and forth. It's driving me nuts. I want to see the 170's!

Can you guys spam me with possible ways to break this stall?

I workout 5-6 days a week, 1-2 hours a day. I drink 70-75 oz of water every day, I don't really eat many carbs (no bread, Pasta, rice, or potatoes).

I literally don't know what else I can do.

    Thanks in advance!

    (Also, I'm 4.5 months out.)

  11. Yes, if you have acid issues and get them corrected you will see a decrease in hunger. I also noticed that eating helps with the acid symptoms so it makes sense that people with acid issues regain. Eating brings some relief.

Thanks! I'm hoping to get some relief asap!

  12. I keep seeing everyone's posts about not being hungry or not being able to eat and I never had that! I mean for the first 2 weeks, maybe. After that I've been hungry and I've been hungry since! How has everyone been handling this?? I'm eating no carbs, only Protein, and small portions, but I never feel satisfied!

    Help!

  13. My NUT says to vary your macros to shock your body into moving again and that works for me. I will up my calories for a few days, drop them down low for a couple days (those would be shake as meal days) and then bring it back up to where I was maintaining previously. Usually if I do 5-7 days of this, my stall will break.

    I will try that!

  14. Hurts to drink feels like indigestion how do I deal with that it's hard to get Water n due to pain!

I know your pain. It hurt to drink right after surgery. I had to drink room temp water and even then I sipped all day and struggled. Hang in there. It gets better. I've had about 65 ounces of water today!
