Thank you so much! I love Pinterest so I will definitely be doing so searching tonight! -
It's a sad, sad life haha. But you get used to it!

I live on Long Island. I'm so happy with t. The first 4 days I was miserable but that's normal. After that hump, I've been great! I'm down 26 lbs in a month and a half (including pre-op). I'm eating better foods. I feel good. And I'm excited to continue seeing results!

I'd kill someone for some French bread. Plain. By itself. I can't have bread for 6 months (5 more to go!). I'm hoping I won't even want it by then, though I'll be in Paris so that won't be likely!

Struggling to exercise
AmandaWho replied to crawford8903's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5 weeks out and just started really exercising. I'm tired all the time, don't get me wrong, but I do a lot of stationary biking and walking and I just started weights yesterday. I find that it helps to eat a little every 2 hours. I eat a few bites every 2 hours like clockwork and I'm starting to feel a lot better. Maybe break up your meals so you're eating through the day. -
Yeah if you're sleeved early enough, here's no NEED to stay. I, however, was the youngest person of the day so I went last and didn't even get to a room til 930pm 🤦🏻♀️ so I had to stay.

When I got out of surgery I didn't have to do purée. I was allowed protein only- chicken and such but it had to be shredded. Or like chicken, tuna, or egg salad. Homemade only. Someone else mentioned if you're hungrier than you think you should be, talk to your doctor about an acid reducer. It dramatically changed my appetite because I was hungry all the time.

Eating certain things?
AmandaWho replied to Martinichic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone is different. I eat eggs every day. Poached, hard boiled, they're my go to. And I'm not allowed carbs like bread and rice for 6 months. Red meats, I'm allowed after a month along with vegetables. Try the poached eggs. They're not dry at all and it's easier to digest. Maybe try some chicken salad or tuna salad. Those I found to be the easiest right after surgery. -

Tuna salad... 🤦🏻♀️ -
I'm on the protein only phase and I've been doing great with that and my water but today... today I was starving. I ate very 1.5 hours, sometimes every hour. I didn't eat much as I can't handle more than a few ounces but I can't believe how hungry I was. I have been burning more calories at the gym and it is that time of the month (TMI, sorry), but could that be it? This is the first day where I want to eat and eat and eat! On the bright side, I made good choices and didn't eat carbs or bad foods. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Give it time. I'm a month out and all of a sudden in the last week none of my clothes fit. I gave up weighing myself because the scale wasn't moving. Keep making the right choices and you'll be fine. Give it more time.

It depends on your doctor. I'm on a no carbs for 6 months diet. [emoji30] 1 down, 5 to go.

I've been on the omeprazole for 2 days and I ALREADY see a difference! It's insane!
-
All I want is a toasted bagel drowning in butter. That's what I've wanted for like, 3 weeks now. But I'm being strong. But I still want it. I'm holding out til October for carbs. I'm going to Paris and I'm eating all the breads. Well, not all the breads because my stomach won't allow it but I'm trying all the breads!

I had a steak from outback last night and it was magnificent. I couldn't finish it and I couldn't have any sides, but it was amazing. I just wanted to let you know it does get better. [emoji16]

I got omeprazole from my doctor yesterday. Started it today. Hopefully it helps! Hanks everyone!

I'm not on an acid reducer and I don't have heartburn or anything like that. My Dr. said I don't need anything because I don't have heartburn.

My dr said gummies were fine too!

I stopped weighing myself. It was rough. I want to weigh myself periodically now but I made a promise to myself not to do it and to only get weighed monthly at my follow up appointments. My fiancé took the scale away and everything. I was discouraging myself since the beginning (I'm about a month out) and I wasn't happy. I took the scale away, I'm following the plan, my dog hasn't been on better shape in his whole life because we're constantly walking, and I can feel the difference in my body, regardless of knowing my weight! My engagement ring almost had to be sized again even though it's hot and humid! So, seriously, stop weighing yourself. It's liberating. Good luck everyone. [emoji1308] -
New York Bariatric Group - Anyone use them??
AmandaWho replied to Kyle Lukas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used them and I think they're great! I see dr. Angstadt out in Port Jefferson because I live out east on the island. The only time I felt rushed was when I asked if they could speed things up because of my upcoming wedding so the helped me get my appointments and get surgery a month earlier than I was originally booked, but that was a good thing! If you have any other questions, lmk! -

Right. For the first 2-3 months at least I'm not keeping the scale because of the healing and the stalling. I will be paying attention to my clothes and those kinds of things though. -
Hang in there. The stomach isn't going to stay at a stage where 4 bites is sufficient. Just make good choices. That's all you can do!

4 months and 50 lbs is huge. Keep making healthy choices and you'll continue to do well!
