  1. Omg the healing process is so much different and painful. I had my revision on 9.17.2020 and the pain has me so uncomfortable to move, talk, cough, anything. I cant even lay down. I literally have a cloud of covers and pillows on the couch to keep me propped for comfort. I am really hoping for weight loss as I am working on my discipline this time around cause I failed my sleeve unfortunately and I am not in denial about it. 3. I am finally feeling like myself again. I was expecting to recover much quicker than I did. My revision surgery was done 9.17.20 and I was so uncomfortable and in pain. Now I can sleep on my side (with pillows, I'm a belly sleeper and this is a struggle lol), the Omerparzole has helped so far with GERD, and I can stand and walk for longer periods. I have been doing good on staying hydrated and continue to work on my eating habits and meeting my protein goal (120g). The Premier Protein water taste like chalky cough syrup, as I thought this would be a hack to meet my goal and the unflavored powders do have flavor if that makes sense lol. I can finally bend down and tie my shoes (but it has to be quick lol). The weight loss is slower this time around as we all know with revision but my main focus is my eating habits, exercise, and mental health. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Not Having Support

So let's change that. How can we support you? I feel the same often and it definitely adds even more stress to weight loss. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. Last night I woke up choking from acid back up and even threw up a little. Throat on fire and still have nasty taste in my mouth no matter how many times I brush and swish around listerine. I also am wheezing and go no sleep after fear of it happening again. I had revision from vsg to DS (9.17.20)and never suffered from this before but since the revision, this has been an issue(not as scary as last night).I have chewable antacids that helped little but boy was this scary. Horrible GERD episode last night

I went to the drug store and got some omeprazole and that has been helping tremendously. I've also propped myself up a little more higher as well when I sleep and increased fluids. Still waiting to hear back from my doctors office too! Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

  9. Looking for some tips on beating head hunger and cravings. My cravings are winning and its showing on the scale. Sadly enough it has only been a year since I was sleeved and I've been struggling something serious. I dont want to mess this weight loss tool up. I have an appointment with my nutritionist this month (April) at my request because of my concern. I definitely need to crank up the volume on exercising and drink more water, so that is what I am building on this week. Ughhhhh.....

    -45lbs at 3 mo post-op

3 mo. post op. Still doing good. I am down about 45lbs since surgery on 2/12/18. Still working on protein and getting enough water in and taking my vitamins on time. I set an alarm for it and it worked at first but I sometimes ignore it. No complications (knock on wood) and I feel fine. Cravings are still close to gone. Every now and then I will get a craving but it usually passes after drinking water or a liquid. I don't really care for sweets, including pop. I cannot believe i am saying that because I was a heavy snack food junkie. I am getting out and enjoying the weather as much as i can. Every step counts. I can tolerate pretty much any food that i have tried. I constantly looking for healthy recipes, as I am trying to stay away from fried and frozen foods. Drop some recipes if you know of any (that are good). I still get kinda frustrated after being full after 3 bites, i sit there and stare at the food like really? lol I plan on buying a bike and hitting the trail that i walk on in the morning. We shall see.

    Weight loss after surgery

long as you are getting in your water and protein for the most part, you will break that stall. Hang in there girl. Stick to what your dr told you to do.
  13. Hello everyone, just checking in. So, tomorrow I will be 1 month post op and down about 30lbs from my surgery weight. Here is what I have noticed: 1. Its hard to not eat and drink when you have had tha t habit for all of your life. 2.Its bittersweet when you realize you can no longer can down the foods that you used to eat into your bottomless pit. Literally after 2-3 bites you are full. 3. I am not motivated to exercise and am in search of some fun ways to get real exercise in. When I don't get on my treadmill I powerwalk through whatever store I want to visit that day with my son in his stroller or cart. Takes 45-1hr. Stopping and going. It is better than nothing. 4. I crave coffee and spicy foods, don' care for sweets too much now....and I used to have a horrible sweet tooth. Feels weird and I don't really care for coffee either. But I put salsa on almost everything. 5. Sleeping on my stomach is not an issue,it was uncomforable at first but pillows helped and then I got comfy on my own. 6. I do have some pains sometimes that feels like something is pulling so,I am going to tell my Dr at my appt on Thursday. 7. Every time a commercial comes on or that I am interrupted I take a sip of water and that is my secret to getting my fluids. 8. Pintreset is a great tool for healthy recipes and meal hacks That is all for now! It' been an interesting journey so far and I keep telling my that "if nothing changes, then nothing changes" meaning if you do nothing you get nothing in return. I got this surgery to save my life and I want to take full advantage of it. 😉

    Day 6 post op mood

So tomorrow will be one week already since I was sleeved and I am ok. I am not mad or regretful. I just feel weird and anxious to see my weight drop. I can say that I have not had any nausea since day one and no unbearable pain. It's a weird feeling to feel everything going down and into your stomach. My sleep situation is getting better because it was hard to get comfy at night. I did chew some chipotle and spit it out cause I was scared to swallow it but I just wanted to satisfy the craving....the craving....I still have some cravings but it's for the sake of chewing and not actually eating the food if that makes sense. I will be talking to my doctor to let him know about this at my follow up. My main focus is on hydration and walking at least 15 minutes 2x's per day and increasing it as I can handle it. I also am trying to practice slowing down when I eat or drink. Easier said than done. It's hard coming from such a high weight and bad habits to just turn it off. Mind over matter folks. 17. I had my post op visit on 2/22/18 and everything went really well. I am down -19lbs since my surgery on 2/12/18. [emoji6] My doctor said to focus on hydration and exercise. [emoji108] I am happy with those results and trying to push myself into a healthier mentality. Like getting up to exercise, drinking water everywhere I go, getting to bed at a decent time, resisting the foods that got me here, etc. I really want a Philly Cheesesteak.[emoji31] [emoji23] Sleeved on 2/12/18

    3 days after vsg surgery

You should be able to sleep however you want as long as it's not causing any pain to you, is what my doctor said. I used lots of pillows. It's uncomfortable the first few days but will get better. I was sleeved 2/12/18.

Unfortunately, that just comes with weight loss. Long as you're happy and healthy, anyone else's "comment" is just extra
  23. Well I did it! This past Monday I was sleeved! Hurt like hell but I am home now and doing fine. I feel so full and uncomfortable, but nothing I can't manage as I was so scared of being in pain. I've found that ice packs and pillows work wonders. It's so weird feeling everything be digested too. I can't wait to start seeing the results. I haven't weighed myself yet...maybe next week.

    Struggling with pre op diet

If you stop now then all of your work was for nothing. Don't give up. It does suck that the winter bed crisis has affected your surgery but if you are really doing this for yourself and to better your health, you will keep pushing through. I would say if you do cheat ( which is not recommended but people do it) then have something healthy (not processed food). It does suck, there is no way around that but you will hate yourself if you give up. You are also welcoming back all those bad habits you conquered! Stay strong girl!
