  1. Thanks for the helpful post. How have you been sleeping? I see a lot of people talking about acid reflux when they are laying down.
  2. Do people realize how stupid they sound when they say " I'm not going to lose weight because I don't want loose skin" or "I'm afraid to lose weight because of loose skin"? I know, I know, we may have all thought it at some point and time, however, chances are that mindset probably played some type of role in the weight gain and weight loss. But saying you don't want to lose weight because of loose skin is like digging your own grave. Saying your tired of being fat and continuing to make poor meal choices is like digging your own grave. Knowing you have a problem losing weight and not doing anything is like digging your own grave. You can live with loose skin a lot longer than living with all that excess fat, so shut up and do what you need to do to loose the damn weight. Ugh! Wake up people! You should have been thinking about that loose skin all that time you were eating cakes, cookies and pies with a diet coke. You can't deal with loose skin but you can deal with feeling tired all of the time, shortness of breath, low self esteem, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, fatty liver disease and all of the other possible health risks associated with being overweight? Really? Yes, I am clearly feeling some type of way about this topic and If you don't like it ....
  3. My date is 2/12/18, I started this whole process February 2017. My emotions about it change every single day, but I know I am making the right decision for myself!

    I cheated on pre-op diet

From what I have read and seen (youtube videos) people "cheat" all the time. Do what you need to do to get and stay on track. Stay strong. Mind over matter girl, trust me!
  5. Thank you! @FluffyChix
  6. Hey loves! So I have been watching youtube videos on vsg surgery trying to soak up the good, bad and ugly sides of wls. My emotions are all over the place because I am excited and scared to go through with the procedure! The fear of not eating, cause fasting for a hour has me feeling like I'm about to disappear! lol I'm so worried about self discipline and my eating habits. Hoping that my cravings go away after surgery but most importantly, I am trying to get my mind right because I know it is mind over matter, BUT food is so got damn good and it is so hard to break these habits. When you're used to eating whatever you want it's so hard to put the training wheels on and restrict yourself and form new better habits. Unfortunate but true. Currently I am trying to do intermittent fasting and that made me feel like I lost 100lbs from not eating and going through comfort food withdrawal....the struggle is real. My surgery is scheduled for 2/12/18 and I am trying to jump start my diet because effective 1/29 I start the all liquid diet.
  7. @Creekimp13 @FluffyChix Thank you both for your positive feedback and I absolutely don't mind the side rant! lol
  8. I am a horrible snacker at work. I know I should snack on fruits and veggies, but they just do not do it for me. My cravings don't go away until I get what I want - which is usually chocolate! Anyone going through or battled this struggle and have any real tips that work?
  9. Talk about a Happy New Year! This news came just in time! I'm so happy and scared at the same damn time! lol! So, today I got the call from Cleveland Clinic and my surgery date is February 12, 2018! So my pre-op diet starts 1/29/18 - I'm not waiting until then to get started, I am going to continue to monitor and crack down on what I consume. Already down 15lbs. anything extra is a bonus! I'm so ready ya'll! I'm so sick of feeling limited because of my weight. I know my work is still cut out for me and there are many challenges ahead however, this is a big step and a necessary step! My best years are ahead of me. Please pray and send good vibes my way as I continue this bittersweet journey.

  11. I really feel like that in this whole process, the true test is my patience! I hate leaving messages and being told that they will call/email me and then they don't. My last thing to complete is to have my doctor re-fax my sleep study paperwork because they can't find it (again) If I cant trust them to keep my documents I damn sure don't trust them with my guts lol! Ugh!!!!! I know they are busy and I really do respect what they do, but seriously.....

    Turkey vs Human

It's almost as if we've come to accept that we're going to put on weight during the holiday season. It's commonly reported by the media that 5 pounds of body weight is gained during the holidays. In actuality, normal-weight people typically gain about one pound over the holiday season...which means (at least to me) that I will gain 10 pounds...if I don't remind myself to eat MINDFULLY! So, this is my public personal promise, that I will be mindful of what I eat and make a strong effort to stay on track. I want to encourage you to do the same. The fact that you would even make an attempt to think and choose a healthier option, puts you on the right track. What are your tips and tricks to avoid over doing it during the holidays? Have a safe and healthy holiday!
  14. My goal is to start walking on my treadmill (again) and stop using it as a clothing rack! #prayforme-_-

I'm a horrible snacker at work

I need to start doing that more, asking myself if I really want it or not. Yes, you said it, "autopilot" that is exactly what it is...specially being in front of a computer at work. But, I'm going to work at it and swap out some of my bad snacks for better ones.

I'm a horrible snacker at work

It's hard to control it when I feel like I have no self discipline. Ugh!! So frustrating. I usually drink a water bottle full of water along with water I eat to make myself feel a little better BUT MY ultimate goal is to say no and stick to it.

I'm a horrible snacker at work

I will try going back to the shakes. They really did not seem to do anything for me, but it's worth a shot. I love cheese...pepper jack cheese is my second go to snack lol! Thank you
  22. Everyday is a struggle with food. But I have to remind myself of where I want to be and the things I want to accomplish...oh yeah, I want to live too!
