  1. Hello Everyone !

I was sleeved on April 20, man I was so scared that day !

I have been doing well.. going through some sort of a stall, the weight lose didn't stop but it is going soooo slow that I decided to forget about the whole weighting thing ..
but now I have 2 main problems ! first: I don't feel like eating anything ! I force my self to have some yogurt and cheese or hummus, and today, my stomach doesn't like anything [emoji20] it just hurts and gets filled with gas .. I don't know if this might be related to the fact that I had my first period today ? did any of you had this with their periods ?

the second thing, since I don't even want to eat, I can barely have 24g of Protein in shakes .. any suggestions on how to make my self able to get more ?

you are all great ! this is like my safe house now ,, always comes here for comfort !

I was sleeved on April 26th. When I got my first period post op, I felt nauseous and bloated which is normal for me. I found Hot Drinks easier to digest and Soups. I also found that I needed to walk more than I had on previous days. Is there a possibility your constipated, if so a mild laxative may help you and reduce your period symptoms. I personally had trouble digesting dairy products when I had my period. Try different foods. Even if it's just two mouthfuls see how your body reacts to it.

For my protein, I am now able to eat one scrambled egg in the morning, and have a Protein Drink during the day as a minimum. It does take me all day to drink the protein drink, but at least I know the minimum protein intake is being met.

I hope this helps you. Good luck!

  2. I'm not doing to good I had my sugery April 17 and I'm not doing good on my Fluid either because sometime feel nausea when I do drink but I'm doing lot walking and don't know why I'm still hurting because I had Hernia Repair to but I'm making it

Best wishes and hope you're feeling better today.

  3. I know, I was thinking about reaching onderland yesterday. Crazy isn't it? Very surreal.
When I had all my final appointments last Monday, everyone from the anesthesiologist's nurse to my doctor's nurse, to my dietician, to my lab tech all talked the same talk, 'When you're 155...". No one said if, they all said when, because losing the majority of this weight is going to happen. I'll be honest. Up until December 21, 2016, I was ok if I died. I didn't see there was any way to lose 150-200 pounds at my age (41). I didn't want to live like this being so limited and achy all the time and I was just tired. This surgery is truly a miracle for many of us.

I'm 43 and the aches and pains are exactly why I'm doing this surgery next Wednesday. I keep reading the success stories and I get excited thinking that might be me next year.....praying that it will be me next year as I don't want to fail. I need to get healthy. As you stated, this surgery will be a miracle for me. All the very best for Monday!

  4. I'm sitting here wondering if I'm making the right decision...my stomach is in knots and I'm crying...I hope it's just nerves...I don't know why it's hitting me so hard. I think my husband is sick of talking about it...just needed to get it off my chest

I know exactly how you feel! I'm the same. The only way I've been able to cope is by reading the successful posts on line. This helps me soooo much and turns my negative thoughts into positive. Mine isn't until the 26th, but I'm already having sleepless nights scared and anxious. But you can do this. Change is difficult... but this is going to be a magnificent change to our lives. We just need to focus on how much better our health will be. Wishing you all the very best xx

  5. Hey guys!

To my fellow sleevers that already had surgery can you give any advice on what to pack in my hospital bag?

Also I can't decide on whether to buy an Apple watch or Fitbit, to keep track any opinions ?!

I find my Apple Watch much more useful than my Fitbit. It gives you alerts throughout the day if your sitting for too long, or when you have reached your goal/s. The other great thing is while your exercise you can answer phone calls without trying to race for your mobile. I am a health worker and find it great for when I'm on call. Plus that Apple Watch is easy to change the bands.
