Big2Tiny got a reaction from VixianRyia in Telling the children
I and my 7 year old girl were having a quiet time, while the baby sleeps. So I decided to tell her that soon I would be having this surgery and my big belly would disappear, her first response was Then how will I be able to see you???? hehe, so I told her I would not disappear, just the big tummy. And then I asked her what she felt about it, and she said HAPPY. Because the I would be able to walk, and run, and ride a bike, and jump.. If I would have any doubt about doing this, it would have disappeared right then and there.
I am so happy that I am going for the surgery, not just for me but also my children. So many things that they miss out on because of my weight. My 15 year old teen already knows a long time ago, because I tried getting the surgery like 4 years ago but couldn't at the time. But my 18 month old baby will never remember this fat momma of his, he will never remember having a momma that does not go to the playground because she has so much hip or backpain, or always so tired that she takes a nap and every chance she gets. Best decions ever, best thing I have ever done for myselve and my family!

Big2Tiny got a reaction from pfisher in Has Anyone Kept Their Surgery A Secret?
Not me, I wanna scream it from the top of the roof. But I just found out my cousin had it 2 years ago and told nearly no one. People just kinda thought she used meds or went on a low carb diet. For the first time in her life she reached healthy weight, but she had been able to go below 200 before with dieting. So everyone thought she just did that again. I was pleasantly surprised when she told me the other day, thinking that explains ALOT I wouldn't worry to much, IF people start asking. Just tell the you are trying out low carb diet or something.

You will be more successful doing this as a healthy person. Why wait until you're sick and the risks of surgery go up? As a.c. example, if you know the transmission in your car is bad, do you fix it now our continue driving it until you're stranded in the road? Why put your body through that? You have the best chance of success if you're still healthy. Good luck to you!!!

LoL I bet you freaked out, reminds me of when my kid had one of those cat toys the rolls on the floor laughing. And one time I was coming home from a night shift IN THE DARK. And when I was at the front door I heard a loud creepy laughter in the dark, my feet literally buckled from fear. And then I realised my kid had left the F*****G toy on the front porch. I disliked it before but after I hated it. hahha

This is the scale I use:
https://www.amazon.com/My-Weigh-XL-550-Talking-Bathroom/dp/B0014ZQH84/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1493916572&sr=8-3-fkmr1&keywords=heavy+duty+scale+550+pounds
It goes up to 550 pounds. I was 540 at my highest.
Funny thing...I didn't know it talked. One day after I had moved it I turned it on and it said "hello" I freaked out! haha
The talking is helpful though because when I was so heavy I would need someone else to look at the weight because I couldn't see it but it just tells me the weight so I could weigh myself on my own.
I still use it and I'm now 290 pounds. I still think the talking is helpful because I feel your weight changes if you bend your head down. I love it.

I just read the original question post, not all the replies, but here's my two cents.
I, too, am perfectly healthy, except for having a BMI of 53ish. No issues with anything so far. Except I'm not; I'm 180+ pounds overweight. So that is not healthy in and of itself. And you know what? My doctors keep saying this phrase; I've heard it over and over: "You're a great candidate for this." We will not keep healthy for long. You've done all this, you're scheduled, and it's GREAT. Go with it. Nip this in the bud. They keep telling me I'm a great candidate for this because my lack of issues makes the surgery easier to do and deal with it, it makes things easier for recovery, it makes everyone's jobs easier regarding this whole thing. Please, I implore you, don't wait. You're already here. From what I see, everyone gets nerves closer to. Like, "OMG, what am I doing?!" But that's normal. Take the leap, get the weight off, and have that much of a better life that much more quickly. Do it while you're young and able, and do the procedure your doctor, the expert, recommends. If there is one sentence I have heard from post-op patients/vets, it's this: "I wish I had done it sooner."
Best of luck to you!
