    April Sleevers? Buddies?

Wish u well .. I kno it has to be hard .. i'm in the beginning stages right now I wanted to comment because I noticed your name twin mommy.. i'm a triplet mommy Hail to the multiple moms !!
  3. Thank you for your input I think this decision is just a matter of yes where your at & how much we want to lose .. I just suggested sleeve to my Dr cos of not changing intestines but By pass has more weight loss w good data. He says I can be approved for either one it's a matter of choice . So far we decided on sleeve but yes I'm thinking of changing to By pass .. just looking to be very heathy too & get a low BMI as well. I was active w exercise & Lower BMI over 10 years ...& I am still somewhat active. gained over 100lbs having triplets & have had a hard time losing it all the weight . It seems I lose some but keep regaining it back . I need a way to stay accountable. Good luck on your journey sounds like you have a good plan in place .
  4. BTW My sister had RNY back in 04 before sleeve was popular she did fine w it & lost over 100lbs & kept it off . I like the accountability it does have w dumping but it's so scary & painful..
  5. I'm also I just thinking about comparing complications & Long Jevity with two different surgeries that's my biggest thought. .. which is better ?
  6. Thanks for sharing.. wow 3 days 11lbs is fast .. congrats! I do like that this surgery is golden standard and is proven successful with all the data in place. I read that you lose for two years with RNY versus 1 year w sleeve .. what was your starting BMI ?
  7. I'm just starting out in kaiser .. I had my orientation today & met with the surgeon & nutritionist . My doctor says I'll be fine with either sleeve or bypass surgery.. BMI is 40 & was surprise he says I'll be fine with either one ... no Gurd issues no diabetes.. however I do have severe apnea and hypothyroid high blood pressure high cholesterol ... I was leaning towards sleeve until I talk with my dr today now I can't decide. I know they both have good success rates.. pros and cons.. ? i've been reading it over and over again on line ... any input would be really helpful or good success stories
  8. I just had a consult w my surgeon today .. he says either is fine for me .. cos no gerd issues or diabetes .. but diabetes runs in big in my family history.. also my BMI is 40 which I was surprised he suggested bypass as an option as well ..i heard it can be more risky ..& sleeve less invasive ... which I know surgery is surgery they are all invasive .. I'm only rethinking my decision to bypass versus sleeve because the long-term success.. Can anyone share there thoughts on this ?
