Surgery date was may 16th 2017 I am almost at my 3 month mark and so far I am averaging about 30+ lbs a month I had my two month check in on July 10th and two weeks later I had lost 20 lbs since July 10th so 20 lbs in two weeks and my activities are waking and light weighted work outs daily with resistance bands. So far so good

    You are doing great!

  2. Is it just me or does anyone else feel like nothing they eat tastes good? I feel like my taste buds have changed. (I'm two months post-op)

Also,I feel like my sense of smell has changed too. I feel badly for my poor fiancé. If he has onions during the day, he has to face the other direction when we are sleeping because his breath makes me want to barf. Poor guy. LOL

  3. I was sleeved on 4/6 and weighed 233. I weighed myself this morning and was 203. My weight loss this second month has definitely slowed down, but I am happy with where it is going. I have not exercised as much as I should have because the day after my surgery I found out my mom has pancreatic cancer so she has with me for three of the weeks since surgery. I've taken her to the mayo clinic for doctor appointments and also have been at her house cleaning and cooking. I have not taken care of myself as much as I should have, but she is most important to me right now. Anyway, I have mostly felt good but have not had a lot of energy and have been pretty tired. I can't eat much and never feel hungry so I am hoping that once I get into the routine of faithfully exercising, that the pounds will start coming off a little easier again. Best of luck to you!

  4. You ladies might appreciate this one - you guys not so much. I used to pee a little when I coughed, but after the doc took out my big-a$$ed stomach - no longer do I have that problem. I don't know what the deal is, but ever since surgery that has not been a problem. Oh the small things in life that bring us joy! :)

On a side note - if any of you didn't get a pic from your doc of what your stomach looked like and would like to see a pic, let me know and I can post a pic of mine. I thought it was quite interesting.

Wow it looks like you are doing AMAZING at your weight loss!!! Do you have any tips for me

Just do what your doc says - drink your ounce of water/liquids every fifteen minutes while you are awake, move around as much as possible, take naps when you can, have sugar free popsicles on hand and be sure to take your anti-nausea medication every four hours. AKA do what your doc says and hopefully you should do well.

My surgery is Saturday April 29th! Im so excited but omg I am SOOO nervous!!! I opted for a saturday surgery so I don't have to miss the extra work. Luckily I have a light duty management job so I sit behind a computer all day.

You will do great! And you might surprise yourself - I only missed three full days of work. Then I went back to work for half days and worked from home. Good luck to you. :)

  7. I thought I would give everyone my update since my sleeve surgery on the 6th. First of all, I think I have the best surgeon in the world. In addition to being a great surgeon, he is so kind and nice, which makes the experience all the better. My pain and gas were minimal. I ended up having to have 7 scopes put in so my stomach has been sore and I ended up having a huge bruise about the size of a softball which is still quite prevalent, but other than that I'm doing great. I actually went back to work 5 days post op. I didn't take any pain medication after the third day post-op. For those of you who are worried and scared, I understand your apprehension, but don't worry. You will be fine. Follow your doctor's orders, drink your fluids as prescribed and you will do great!

Hi guys! Today I complete my first week after surgery. It's been a pretty smooth ride thanks to forums like theses and so much info out there. I'm just worried I can't tell if it's normal to not have gone to the bathroom for the entire week! I mean, I know my liquid diet has been broth, apple juice and Jello (yesterday started with Protein shakes) and I've read that Constipation is normal, but it says that it's for 3 or 4 days. Did anyone go through this?

The nurse from my doctor's office told me to take Milk of Magnesia and that has helped. My surgery was one week ago and I've had 3 BMs since then. Definitely not my norm, but then this is not the norm any more, is it?

Tomorrow is the day!!!!!!!!!! Can't believe its really here, it's been such a long road from last August when I went for my first appointment with the surgeon. Been looking at before and after pics, reading comments to keep the nerves in the back of my mind and the joy right up in the front where it belongs!!!!!!!!!! Good Luck to all my April sleeve buddies. :772_blue_heart:
