Hair loss nearly two years post-VSG. Possibly Metformin or due to weight loss at this point?
You might have an immune system issues, get a full endocrine panel of all your hormones. Not to sound rude, but what John Frieda product? I see no class action lawsuits for any products by John Frieda and I would think if it caused hair loss it would be more than one person affected.

Need help writing an appeal letter to get a Approved Referral
You need actual comorbidities - high blood pressure, etc. If you can work out 4x week then your ankles are tolerating that. Do you have sleep apnea or any other issues? If you were 201lbs your bmi would be 40 and most insurances cover people at 40 bmi.

Need advance tips for next June at a convention
Hello - by next June I will be a good 9 months out from surgery and able to eat a moderate diet, BUT I will be at a square dance convention in a Marriot w/o cooking facilities for 6 days, and the husband hate$ eating out. We will of course eat some meals out. But I have thought of a few things to take, but could use some ideas. (Hard boiled eggs, tuna packets, salad, yogurts) (don't say shakes please) We will be dancing our azzes off which is good.

Im freaking out !!!
There was a research study that peppermint oil was as effective as minoxidil (rogaine) for hair regrowth and more effective at stimulating the growth phase. Hair follicles changes phase every three months from active to resting. You can make a spray with 10 drops of essential peppermint oil with a carrier oil such as almond, jojoba, coconut etc and massage it in, leave in overnight and wash out or add it to leave-in conditioner. I am going to start using this now, three months before surgery. It can't hurt at any rate.

I've Lost It Today!
Sugar is a potent trigger for cravings. You feel good because chemically it floods your body with an endorphin 'high'. A little treat with added protein would be less hazardous. Be careful. Did you plan to do this? What preceeded this eating event - anxiety, fear, insecurity, etc.

Convincing partner to have WLS
Good luck to you all. If spouses do not want wls, then make sure as your emotions change from surgery that you assure them that you are still attracted to them and value their company. It might be tough from time to time, and they may feel insecure, jealous, angry at your changes and unknowingly or knowingly sabotage your progress. In my first marriage when I would diet and lose weight insecurity would cause him to bring home all kinds of goodies to tempt me or want me to eat out and get a 'garbage basket' appetizer, etc. Now he wasn't overweight, but an insecure alcoholic that figured if I lost weight I would leave (I left fat, because I couldn't take the alcoholism)

I'm seriously getting pissed off with my stall
One other thing, if you are lifting/working out a lot then muscles retain water to repair and what you need is more water, a lot more.

What do you eat for breakfast when you are tired of eggs?
Thanks for all the ideas.

Coping mechanisms
I just came across Dr. Duc Vuong's videos on youtube and he has a book with worksheets in it. He talks about making small daily changes before surgery and changing negative self-talk into positive talk and action.

3 1/2 weeks post op gained 12 pounds
You just revealed some of the issue - only 33oz of liquid and no shakes (liquid and protein). You are partially dehydrated and your body is holding onto everything for dear life. Drink at least twice that.

HELP! Been at a stall, need advice.
You say you are on plan but don't say exactly what and how much you are eating and drinking. Post the grams of protein, carbs, calories and ounces of liquid. Are you tracking daily?

I am so happy!!!!
Congrats! You are positively beaming from ear to ear!!!

surgeon postponed my procedureHello everyone. I had surgery scheduled for July 25th but due to my weight gain(yeah yeah, I know spare me the lecture please !) the surgeon does not feel comfortable going forward with the original date. So yeah, I know
As a preop person you will not find me lecturing you, but I am cheering you on - you can do it because the first three steps have already been taken #1) deciding you want the surgery #2) recognizing an issue #3) getting help to fix the issue. So you are far along in the success of the journey. I say HOORAY FOR YOU.
