2 plus weeks post op, zero weight loss
Everyone just says 'keep following the plan'. I can't offer anything as I am not there yet!! But hang in there....

Daith piercing
@TheNewMrsR None. I had gel and had to take it off - they need to see your nail beds while you are knocked out, also the pulse-ox on your index finger won't read your oxygen level correctly with polish on. I don't want to get there and have them delay surgery to get it off.

Before and after 4 months post op
You look great and HAPPY!!! KEEP GOING.

How involved is/was your bariatric team?
My bariatric team is very coordinated. You signup for the seminar, attend, and they call you the next day to make the 1st appt. At the initial consult, they give you a 3-ring binder with surgery details, all requirements, education on reading labels, food stages, vitamins brand lists, shakes lists, consent forms, a form for exercise, a list of possible required/required appointments and you meet the team, talk to the surgeon, and watch a video. They made all the appts for tests, handled the insurance referrals. They called the insurance the day of your last NUT appt and submit all paperwork, insurance approved in one day. Then you discuss dates for surgery, and schedule remaining pre-op tests (EDG, bloodwork), schedule last surgeon consult/instructions for surgery, and schedule next 3 post-op appointments. So - no complaints. I could have had surgery 3 weeks ago - but wanted it for Oct 24th due to social events, and they were fine with that.

Day two pre-op diet, I love this broth.
I love this bone broth. I do simmer it with some vegetables - onion, carrot, cabbage, celery, green pepper - and garlic. It has 7gr/cup/30cal as you can see on the label. I drank a lot of it yesterday and two shakes, some sf jello. Yay!! I survived!!! LOL Nine more days to go.

Michigan's Dr. Weiner (youtube)says 40oz is the bare minimum. Sip constantly. Try room temp or warm. Try SF popsicles.

2 years after the surgery.....
You have done so well!! Congrats. This will add years to your life.

Progress pic!
Oh wow what a transformation! Congrats!!! How tall are you? Age?

Can’t stop crying
He didn't go through the surgery and has no idea what you need. Don't make any rash judgements/changes right now, as you are recovering and not thinking clearly. Feelings are magnified while we are in pain and mentally/physically taxed. My husband is very caring but quite the lump on how to help!!! He just doesn't get it sometimes, it is his brain wiring and not how he feels about me. Take deep breath and just say out loud that you are frustrated and need a - hug, walking pal, cup of tea, or what you need and you will not be a blubbering baby for long. Good luck.

4 days to surgery and totally exhausted!
It's for your breathing and circulation I think. Do what you can though. I am first day pre-op today and not even hungry, had bone broth and hot tea so far. I need to do a shake here soon though, it's 2pm. Put some spices in your soup - touch of cayenne, or basil and onion powder. Dilute it with vegetable broth. Good luck.

Trouble with Eggs
Oh man, I love eggs, hope I don't develop an aversion for them!

Staples
I doubt the staples will, but my knee replacement does because it has titanium ad two other metals.

Did doctor office call to check on you?
I already have appointments made for one week, three weeks, and six weeks for after the surgery to see the Doc and NUT. And I am sure I will get at least one phone call and can call and ask anything whenever I need to.

Vegan foods for days 3-8 after surgery?
Well I believe in following what the surgeon/NUT says to do - so everyone should just go ask the experts what to consume after surgery instead of the 'commoners'.
-
Daith piercing
I dont have that piercing but absolutely no jewelry in surgery per my surgeon, also no nail polish, lotion, makeup, etc and no shaving 3 days prior to surgery.

Sleeve VS RNY (Any advice welcome!)

Vegan foods for days 3-8 after surgery?
And in the beginning you cannot possibly get enough protein to meet requirements on those foods - get some protein shakes. And do the vegan thing when you are healed. My NUT said you really can't be vegan on this, especially in the first month or so while you are healing. Good luck though, hope you do okay.

4 days to surgery and totally exhausted!
Are you required to exercise during pre-op? I'm not.

Too Much Meds
Only a scrip for oxy, and wipes for bathing with after my shower the night before, and then wipes morning of surgery. I asked about a PPI and he said I won't need it? And will give anti-nausea if needed...

Question regarding psychology appt?
I took an obnoxious multiple choice test - maybe 35 questions. One was - ' do you ever get in your car in the middle of the night and get fast food?' Wants to know if you have eating disorders, were you sexually abused, do you self-harm, if you are harmed at home, or afraid of anyone at home, do you have support from your family, etc. I was nervous but didn't need to be. I will say there is a ridiculous psych test (MMPI2) out there with over 300 questions that some people have had to take, but not the average appt.
