I think it feels so good to finally see ourselves losing that when we hit a stall it truly scares us and brings back that fear. I started my period yesterday, so now I know why I stalled and will just keep trucking! It has to come off eventually! Hang in there!

My family went on spring break 3 days after my surgery. My husband drove and I sat shotgun with my pain meds on board and watched netflicks. Once we got to Florida, I sat and enjoyed the view for a week. It was a good chance for me to get my head in the right place and enjoy my family. I did talk with my surgeon about it in advance and he was fine with me being in the car. He did send me home with Lovenox knowing that was my plan.

My nutritionist has me adding a tablespoon of Peanut Butter to my oatmeal at 4 weeks out and it tastes really good!

Are you chewing well and taking small bites/sips with breaks in between?

I am only 2 weeks out and feel like a million dollars! It is so nice to feel good and I know it will only get better. My band had slipped and I spent years not being able to eat meats and healthier things. Although I am still on full liquids and puréed, I can tell that this was the right choice for me.

Anyone know if this is ok to drink a few weeks out?

I am 10 days out and feeling kinda worried as well. Cottage cheese, which I am allowed isn't restricting me either. Hoping solid food will provide restriction[emoji52]

I got to start full liquids and purée when I got home. I am at post-op day #8 now. I had a really hard time at first too getting in my Protein and Water. I have been eating Greek yogurt thinned down with skim milk, cottage cheese and some Protein shakes that I hate. I drink peach tea crystal light flavor for a change and cream of chicken Soup that has been strained. I am just now getting to where I can meet my Protein and Water. You'll get there!

These are the ones I have used-Pure Protein (Walmart, Costco), Click (The Vitamin Shoppe, Drink Click online) and Inspire (bariatriceating.com)
I would also go to Bariatric Foodie site. She has many recipes to improve the taste of your Protein shakes plus a great book called "The Bariatric Foodie Guide to Perfect Protein Shakes". It is well worth the price. Without this book I am not sure I would have survived the Protein Shakes.< br> Best of luck. Hope this helps.
Thank you!!!!!

Every Protein Shake I have tried tastes terrible to me. I am almost a week out. Anyone have any good suggestions? I have been eating cottage cheese, Greek yogurt and Soups that are all liquified down, but really struggling to get my Proteins and Water in. My mid-back aches and I just don't feel hungry. I am starting to feel a little weak. I have only urinated twice today. Anyone have any good advice?

I am 3 days out from lap removal and conversion to gastric bypass. I can't tell when I am full, but feel pressure in middle of my back. Can that be fullness or will it be in middle of my chest? Also, think I have some heartburn. Does that mean I am eating too much? I haven't been able to eat and drink what I am suppose to so far! I don't feel nauseated, but don't want to do anything wrong. Please advise! Also, can I take some maalox?

How many people use the vitamin patches and are you happy with them? I am having RNY on Wednesday and trying to decide if I want to go pills, Patches or melts post op. Would appreciate any advise!!

I am just curious what others were told about Vitamins after RNY. I am having surgery on Wednesday and want to make sure I am doing everything right. The nutritionist I went to see told me:
Vitamin B-12 (1) SL every day .....BUT these come in different dosages and I don't know which one to pick
Flinestone chewable Vitamin with Iron (1) every day
Then, when I start soft food I need to add:
Calcium 500mg every day and Centrum Chewable every day.
Does this sound right? I have read a few things on here that are making me question whether I need to add more. Please advise.

Have you had any trouble with the higher fat content making you feel sick? I am just wondering if it is a good diet to try to follow since it is low carb. I know starting out for weeks I need to follow my post-op liquid/puree diet, but am wanting to research for when I am all healed and feeling good. Thanks for any advice that you may have, @hermione53 and @Vinasu!

Can anyone tell me if they follow a ketogenic diet after gastric bypass surgery once they were healed and doing well or maybe even after they had hit their goal?
Anyone else have this?

Chew chew chew and put your fork down in between bites. You will figure out when to take another bite. It was hard in the beginning for me, but now I am getting the hang of it. You will too!!
