  1. Good luck. You won't regret it. Take it one day at at time and watch the magic happen.
  2. @obxshell89 you're exactly right. My experience was very similar to yours. @tera73 Most of this is all mental. Once you have the surgery it'll be so much easier to follow the directions and expectations they have for you. The bypass is the way to go. You wont regret it. Keep is posted.
  3. Well said. I'd do it 1000 times over. I had no issues at all the recovered like a champ. Life changing!!!!
  4. Yall won't be disappointed. I had am amazing experience with them all.

    8 weeks post op

    You Go Girl!!!!
  6. Yes indeed. @James Marusek is the man! I ALWAYS read his posts and take something from it. I definitely appreciate his wisdom and advice.
  7. hahaha. I definitely watched the videos pre-op. It actually helped me mentally prepare for surgery. Watching the procedure didn't bother me at all. To be honest, once you go under for surgery you won't know any difference. Surgery is a breeze as long as you follow your pre-op. Recovery from surgery was pretty smooth for me. I have ZERO regrets. Don't let the videos psych you out. It's all the way worth it. Good luck to you.
  8. Just to chime in, I had my surgery with Dr. Fitzer om 12/18/17 and he is awesome and his staff is even better. Overall great experience!

    Today’s the day

You go girl! One day at a time. It gets better, I promise.
  10. I just had the bypass on 12/18 and i'm doing great. I can't speak on the sleeve even though it was my first choice, initially. I have so much extra weight to lose and I wanted extra accountability so I went with the bypass. I have seen MANY sleeve people on these forums go back in for a revision to the bypass. I have no complaints. The bypass only sounds bad because of the work that is done on the inside. I promise you, as long as you have a great surgeon, either surgery will be successful. My good friend @JohnnyCakes was a good person to lean on as far as understanding and not letting the "bypass" word add more fear than it needed to be. There are risks with any surgery. I have no regrets. I definitely wish you good luck as you start a new chapter in life.

    December 2017 Gastric Bypass!

Stay focused and trust the process. I was one that fortunately had no issues and is feeling a million bucks. The fluid intake takes time but will get better everyday. I also had my surgery on 12/18. This support group has been the key factor for my sanity during the Pre-Op process. Since surgery I have lost 24 pounds in 1 week. 53 pounds since October. Just continue to take it one day at a time and trust the process. We are all here to lean on. We got you!!!

    Sleep Apnea and Anesthesia

If you think about it, they're so many obese people like me with obstructive sleep apnea that have surgery. They see it all the time. As long as you have a good surgical team that you are confident in, you'll do great. That put me at ease real quick. When I went to the surgery room and got on the surgery table, they propped my upper body up and that when I first fell asleep they could quickly intubate me and get the show on the road. Looking back to two days ago, I had absolutely NOTHING to worry about because I trusted my team and expressed ALL of my fears and concerns. You'll do great. Be confident with the team you chose to perform life changing surgery on you. Good luck. You got this. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app
