  1. Tidge, I felt the same way, especially as I had a tough time recovering. In fact, I was freaking out a bit. If you had asked me then if I would have done this I would have said no. Now I say yes, even though I have port area pain evryday. Hang in there, it does get better.
  2. I don't know what country this is in, but the locals sure are superstitious. hehehe http://ebaumsworld.com/2006/02/skeleton.html I wish I knew what they were saying!
  3. bumpity bump
  4. We had one open up by us. Maybe I was there on an off day but we were not impressed. $8.00 for something that I could get better from Turkey Hill ! (Party Cake flavor..omg) Now Krispy Kreme is another thing entirely. We had the only store open up in myhome town, 40 min away. We would drive the 40 min and wait for the hot and fresh sign to go on. Now that is a donut. It closed though. :-( I can't believe people would buy Donkin DOnuts over Krispy Kreme.
  5. I have always had an interest in acting. At one point in my life I really went for it. Studied in London, NYC and started auditioning. I was very good I have to say. I had people tell me "I had it" and to "never stop trying". But the terrible treatment I received in auditions and from other actors because of my weight and on sets was so traumatizing I quit acting and although I long to do it again, I'm afriad to because it was so damaging to my self esteem. Just recently, I was sitting in a circle of women at a salon and a salesman came by with samples and handed them to everyone BUT ME. He looked at me and walked away.
  6. Yes, the manufacturer paid for her banding and maybe since she had it removeed, there is some legal stuff about her not talking about it? Anyway, I love her cover of Led Zeppelin's "The Battle of Evermore"
  7. To everyone who has posted requests above I ask God that they all be healed by your love and grace easily and completely. Ask and you shall receive and so we ask. All is well. Allready done.Amen. I ask for prayer for my health. I am having surgery next month, on the 13th, 2 months to the day after my lapband, to biopsy a suspicious area in my uturus and to remove a fibroid tumor. I ask that all is well, all is clear and my body be healed now. I am also having problems with my lungs. I wake up every morning with my lungs tight and I have terrible anxiety about it. I ask God that my lungs be healed completely. Thank you.

Thanks for caring!! Heard back a couple of hours ago. (Yes, I had to be a squeeky wheel like Penni said) They said the area is just suspicious and they are doing the D&C as a precaution, but he doesn't feel it's anything that needs to have me rushed in. Thats a relief. i hope he is right though.
  9. Man does my port hurt. Really bad. It's okay when I wake up and gets worse as the day wears on. I have no burning, redness, pus or fever. I wonder what is going on?
  10. Oh my goshTrish..this doesn't sound right. Perhaps phone consult with another doctor?
  11. I read somewhere that she had it removed due to reflux problems. I wonder how Brian Dennehey and Ali's daughter are doing wit it?

Still waiting for the call. Doctor is not in today, but the surgery coodinator said he usually will tell her to "get this one in this week" or even "tomorrow" if it's serious. SO I am still waiting to hear back. Thank you all for being here with me, through this.
  13. Ah okay. SO if everyone is experiencing this it sets my mind at ease. In fact, i was going to see the doctor tomorrow about it.
  14. I agree with cobourg, do to what happened to you, your stomach, your quality of life and the fact that insurance won't cover it, the surgeon should do it for you anyway. Sometimes it shouldn't be about the money. In any case you might have a lawsuit against the band manufactuer and there is no question that you should appeal to your state's insurance board. I gave a call and am awaiting a call back. I told the office if this may be cancer, a month is too long and if he doesn't think it's cancer, I need for him to tell me that. Thanks ladies.

Hey all, trying to keep positive. But woke up this morning with anxiet attack. Doctor scheduled the D&C for June 13, 2 months to the day i had my band. What I find disconcerting is that it is so long away. I know he is busy, but if this is cancer, isn't that a long time to wait? Or maybe he is not worried about it???
  17. Well, toes come in handy for really heavy people, so when they drop something in the shower, they can use their toes to slide it up the tub so they can pick it up without bending over. :-p Actually, scientists say it is the left over signs of the webbed feet we had back when our kind were a mutated fishy. Hands too.
  18. Hi Pam, I know your frusterated, but your attitude is great about this too. I'm unfilled, have a sensitive stomach and had restriction for a long time after surgery, so perhaps your tummy just needs more time tocalm down before a fill. I'm 2 months out and only in the past week did it even start to feel like the swelling went down enough for a fill.
  19. What I'd like to know is if this is going to happen every time I try to do anything? I was only planting flowers.
  20. I'm having the same pain, I'm two months out. In fact, 'm sitting with a heating pad on it now. Mine is a ache that is uncomfortable. I was planting flowers yesterday.

Hi Bubba. I had that done too, back in my twenties. Doc called it cervical dysplasia and siad it was pre-cancerous cells. I also had my cervix frozen and never a problem since. The doctor at that time also spoke in a less "worrisome way" then I heard them talking yesterday. This seems more "real" if you know what I mean.

Thank you Kat, threeloves and Kim! I will defo keep you all informed, but more importantly, need your support! And prayer is so powerful, so keep it coming. My mom once has cancerous tumor in her bladder. We prayed and prayed and when they took it out, they found it was benign. She was positive the prayer made a miracle. Kat, your so right about keeping a positive attitude. That will be a challenge for me as I have issues with that. I guess that therein is the lesson, huh?

Thank you so much. You've brought me to tears. Knowing I'm being prayed for and that you think I'm going to be okay really REALLY helps. It's funny how in times like this what helps give you strength is the support of others. I wanted to have a child too. I don't have any. We were trying to get me at a healthier place with the lap band etc first. :-(

You too Kat?? Can you tell me more about your experience? Did they do the D&C thing first with you? What is the prognosis after a hysterectomy? I'm new to this. Thank you for the prayers.
  25. Thankee Cashley :-) Dee, I also have the VG 10 cc band. It may be a blessing in disquise because there seems to be less erosion and such with it. But the esophagus thing may be the bigger issue. I hear that can be a deal breaker.
