Taste Buds - acting weird
Deactivatedfatgal replied to HurricaneU's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Taste Buds do seem to change even if temporarily. I personal hate all soups as I did post op. Water Plain is gross & I need lemon to be able to drink it. I guess it just depends. -

That hat is amazing! I was just talking with girls at work about weight. I'm "411" so 235 pds was just a DEATH sentence for my small frame. I was having hip and joint pain, almost prediabetic & had tried to lose on my own for 5 years. I truly believe wls is a tool that increases life expectancy! I about died when I read that obesity cuts life expectancy by 15 years. -
My doctor lied to me
Deactivatedfatgal replied to Samia toufik's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
So after your surgery, you didn't feel any restrictions as far as eating goes? That is just sad and scary that you went through this! -
HOP INTO SPRING CHALLENGE!!

199 goal is 185 I believe:) -
So I'm 7 weeks today & am battling nausea and the deep hunger pangs that I know are acid. I vomited last night after taking iron pill. No pain or anything else just the nausea, smelling foods can set it off also. I estimate my calories intake has been below 400 each day. I've been working hard to get liquids and protein. Today I've had 30 g of protein and few bites of egg salad & 17ounce of water.

Protein and my sleeve's precious little space
Deactivatedfatgal replied to TheRealSergio's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I suggest YouTube search folks who are 1-10 years post op and you will see that it's a huge difference in the amount you can eat 10dpo. I'm 7 weeks & hqvw no appetite. I make sure I take my gummy multi & biotin though haha. My biggest concerns have been about long term studies & possible complications -
Random thought, how does our digestive process change after vsg?
-
It's a sobering fact that kids may not outlive their parents. The obesity rates are very high due to all the processed food & imo kids don't get out like they use to. My parents kept us outside playing.

Digestive system
Deactivatedfatgal replied to Deactivatedfatgal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Seems like it's pretty much the same just 15% of what is what before. thx for this! -
This is all normal I'm 7 weeks out today and still battle the occasional wth did I do? BUT I just remember that the boils , out of breath feeling & borderline type 2 diabetes just WAS not healthy. Thinga will get better
-
I exhausted all options before getting wls, true for 5 years and just gained and got bigger. It's non reversible and I think it's normal to feel like what if I would've coulda shoulda? For me, had I not gone through with it, I'd be regretting it right now.

I would also suggest watching YouTube videos of people who have had the procedure done. Are you able to stick to the strict pill regimine after the procedure? I saw a lady who had the ds and she ended up in the hospital from malnourishment several times AND she was on her vitamins. Not to say other WLS procedures don't carry risks, but the DS is extreme. I second possibly getting a second opinion. -
Did you have WLS? The audacity of some.
Deactivatedfatgal replied to Deactivatedfatgal's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats on your journey! Hope all is well. And people will assume no matter what, ya only live once & im loving my decision:) -
I've changed about food, my family hasn't.
Deactivatedfatgal replied to BostonGary's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This was one the driving forces in my decision. I began having fertility issues & was nearly prediabetic (sugar was 98) while fasting. Best of luck! -
My doctor lied to me
Deactivatedfatgal replied to Samia toufik's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
What? So what did previous surgeon do? Did he simply perform procedure incorrectly? I would definitely be speaking with him. -
Well I'm 4"11 and six weeks out. Down 31-32 pds. Heaviest weight was 230-235ish. Good luck
