Great list, thanks. Going to jot these down as a reminder for later in my journey. BWT, jess, I smiled when you mentioned Ragner on another thread. I have friends that have done those. Very cool! I know how hard-core that can be.

Latest Project - What's Yours?
crocodoxie replied to James Marusek's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow, that's some playhouse! You're so talented. Since I'm a writer, my next project is my next book, but that seems to be the way it always goes. When I finish this novel, my next project will be....my next book. -
I found at about 6 days, I'd turned a corner, but everybody heals so differently. It was like it went from pain to only hurt/discomfort. Every day got easier.

The psych is more about your eating patterns, the support you have around you, how you cope with stress. It's just an easy conversation and sometimes a bunch of questions to fill out. Nothing bad. I didn't do the sleep or cardio thing, but if you need an endo/colonoscopy, those are simply enough. You prep the day before, you show up, they knock you out so you don't feel anything...like a twilight sleep, and then it's over. The worse part of that is the prep tastes horrible. Otherwise, nothing to stress over. I'm guessing each insurance company is different on the weight loss requirements. I didn't have that, but did a slow, steady downward trend. We were happy if it stayed the same or didn't go up. Now is a great time to set new habits. It will make the transition easier after surgery. My surgery was 2 weeks ago, and having made changes prior made it easier on me. Best of luck!

Good luck to you! Research/read the boards, watch videos, the more you know, the less you worry. Understanding is half the battle, I think.

Im feeling really nervous and anxious
crocodoxie replied to Neens's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm about 10 days out. For me, like you, it wasn't the surgery that made me nervous, but how would I do with the stuff afterward. It's been so much easier than I anticipated. I think I worked myself up, but reading/absorbing what I could prior was helpful, because now if I do/did something, I'll know if it's a common thing or not and that knowledge is fabulous for keeping a clear mind. Good luck! -
Greek yogurt, protein shakes, and cottage cheese are a win for me this week.

How much time in the hospital?
crocodoxie replied to neeseemcmeesee's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had surgery Aug 1 (Tues) and they anticipated that I'd be there until Thurs. I was discharged Wed. evening, so one night. That was a surprise. -
I started, but am kind of new to doing a video, so they are short and to the point...haa...old lady that I am. Just started, so only a handful. Surgery was Aug 1 I think I'm listed under: WLS Confessions I'll look you guys up.

Nhope! Fabulous. Glad to hear you're doing well...just keep on going, one step at at time. I'm 10 days out now, and the amount of energy I have today as opposed to five days ago surprises me! I don't wear down as quickly. Your name and PA reminds me of a nearby town called New Hope!

4 days post op and have a poop question
crocodoxie replied to shantel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jealous! I'm a week out and still waiting. LOL Otherwise, I'm drinking/doing protein without issue. Oh well, puree starts soon, so maybe that will get things moving along. -
Sipping one or two ounces every 15 minutes!!
crocodoxie replied to gomezk2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep, 1 oz-2 oz worked for me. I found myself doing 2 oz. without a problem. They did suggest to dilute my protein shake early out. Like AZBlackhawk mentioned, my tummy tells me if only 1 will go down that 15 mins. -
