Out of curiosity , I'm wondering why you'd write this post, sounds like your not a patient but a worker , or possible Omar. Your not quite defending him, but saying he was nice to you and a gentlemen then throwing in a respected Doctors name...seems fishy.

Where did you decide on going?

Well I'm not okay with getting GERD, it is a risk. Many people to do get it, there is a medicine for it. But yes it out ways the risk for me.

I'm going to OCC in Mexico, next month for a Gastric Sleeve. The Doctor there was on Dr.Oz and other TV shows. I didn't go on that, but it drew me to the clinic in my research. I was going elsewhere until I found OCC, they charge about 2-3G's more, but I liked what I found out and a lot of people from Canada go there.

I'm going to Mexico to the OCC. I did my homework and am ready. The closest I could get the surgery done in Canada is just as far as Mexico. The Occ has been on doctor Oz and Oprah and I've researched it a lot and feel even more confident than going to Toronto (for me ). My BMI is 31 as well. Just research , theres a Mexican sleeved sight here too. There's horror stories for every doctor ,everywhere. good Luck!

I'm going to the OCC, March 23rd is my sleeve date. The doctors have been on Dr.Oz and Oprah, I've only heard good things. I've looked into for 2 years and once I made the decision I called and had an appointment within a month. You have to work on yourself, as you don't get counselling , but counselling it not for everyone and really dependant on her skills too.

Have you considered Mexico and going self pay.?

My mother in law was very heavy before her surgery, Maybe 350lbs. She had it twice due to gaining the weight back by eating sweets. (She was skinny for a couple of years each time) She's still overweight after the 2nd time, not near as bad but still has mobility issues as you do when you get old and have a lot of extra pounds on. Try to stay away from sweets, I know it's hard, but you went through so much, don't blow it.

I bought Knorr's Chicken sodium reduced in the 1 litre tetra box. It's delicious.

Awe that's too bad. Are you lying down a lot? If you are, try to relax sitting up, you can put your feet up but don't lay down. Maybe prop your head up for a night or 2. Are you walking every couple of hours? You'll get there , just hang in there. I hope it's sooner then later.

@Clementine Sky I was just wondering how much did you loose in the 14months , My BMI is 31 I'm 5'10" 220lbs so it takes awhile for weight loss to show on me. (Which is long as I'm loosing it's fine)

I don't need to know your Finacing , 15,000$ to the Mayo Clinic/per day ....they find everything , if your desperate and exhausted all your searches.

It'll come , your Bodies trying not to give up any fat since it's been "damaged"(your stomachs near gone!) your BMI is likely lower. Wait until you heal and you'll be clear sailing !

Maybe you need to take a friend or go alone, and leave him at home.Some people just can't handle the stress. He was likely scared and that's how he shows it. I'm going alone and my husbands staying home with the kids.
