  1. Day 2 and 3 were brutal.

    Day 4 improved.

    Day 5 95% better

Day 6 =back to work and almost forgot I had surgery! Until I chugged 3 gulps of Water and felt it. Ugh.

Very happy it's getting better. Zero pain. I almost forgot I can't eat solid food and thought about grabbing pretzels. Then u remembered I'm only on full liquids. Puree starts tomorrow. I can't wait to taste sweet potatoes.

What have you eaten for puree stage? I'm craving a taco. Thinking of making chilli.

  2. HI there, there are some Protein Shakes out there with close to 30 grams of Protein, if you could manage 3x day, you'd hit that goal! I know that there are also unflavored protein mixes available that you're able to add to Soups and anything else you'd be consuming. Makes it easier! Good luck 🙂[emoji169]

Isopure is 50g x 2 scoops. Double up on any powder. I bought protein Soup mix from Amazon and I love it. Also okios Greek yogurt has 10g of protein. And you can add milk to make it drinkable and add protein

  3. Today I weighed in 8 days post op 30 lbs lighter. I'm down 30 lbs it was empowering. I finally was cleared to walk on tredmill and ride bike at gym so I went to my gym and did a 30 minute bike ride and then had to run to the mall to buy a summer dress for my best friends engagement party in 2 weeks and I was one full size down. This is literally only ONE week post op.

I'm onto puréed foods as well and for dinner tonight I got to purée a bean chili with fat free sour cream and a little fat free Mexican cheese. My ninja made it so smooth and it was beyond delicious. My biggest incision where they removed the stomach is the only one that is sore but my doctor said that's normal.

I'm loving life!!!!! Love sharing our journeys Xo

30 pounds in 8 days??? You are amazing! Congrats

  4. Surgery went well IV pain meds were great. I walked the hall 15 x while I was there. Sx at 0700 home by 4p the next day. That's when the pain started. I couldn't drink. I had this strange painful sensation of air inside me ( shoulders back etc). This was from the laproscope and a hyatia hernia repair. The pain of changing positions was unbearable. Day 4 post op today =75% improvement! I already drank 3 Oz and it's only 10am. I'm hoping to return to class on Monday.

  5. 4 days post op and just starting to feeling a little better. It seems that most of you guys fly past the first week and the surgery was easy. I could not hold liquids down day 2 at all. Day three I was much better nothing came up. One thing I did not know to except was the blood clots that can come out your nose. I did have a hernia repair along with vsg so I am not sure I that is what is taking me longer heal up. I have not been taking my pain medication but I always feel light headed. Anyone experiencing this?

I'm day 3 post op. It's hard. I'm glad I'm not the only one unable to drink. I get in only about 5- 10 oz/per day. And it's difficult to do. Good luck!

  6. Day 3 post op. I have awful cramping pain. I'm only able to drink 5oz yesterday. Today I mixed Protein Powder (50g) with 5 oz milk and it takes me ALL day to drink it. The thought of forcing myself to drink makes me naeuous. I'm weak and very tired. Took lots of oxy last night, but none today. How much do you honestly drink at this stage. My nutritionist says 64oz, but that's not even possible. Help!

  7. What kind of pain are you having and how far out are you? If it's gas pain and you're early out walking should help. If it's just painful sipping early out you kinda have to endure it for a bit but it'll get better. Are you feeling better and over doing things, you may need to rest a little more. I also would supplement liquid Tylenol between my rx pain med early on to help.

The worst pain in cramps/ full. It's difficult to even get myself to drink 15mls of the shake with out gagging. I have no desire to drink anything. The incision pain is bad when changing positions.

  8. Hi I had my surgery on July 20th. I am quite happy. Pain has been at a minimum. A little gassy started today. I look forward to my journey. Wish all a great journey. I'm thankful we're all here to chat and encourage each other. Blessings

What do you take for pain? I have liquid oxy that does nothing for me. I have a very high tolerance of pain, but this is killing me.

  9. Well I had my surgery yesterday. Pain was bad, but lots of diludid. I had surgery at 730am, in PACU before 11, in my room around 1pm. I was ealing by 5pm

Today I went home. Pain control was good in the hospital today, but the oral oxy does nothing for me at all. I supposed to drink 60oz today but I only made it through 15. Anything more than 1/2 Oz makes me nauseous. so it's been chicken broth and Water. Surgery made me gain 6 pounds, but mostly laprp water and IVF. The gas pain is intense. The fixed a hernia in my diaphragm and my shoulders and back are extremely painful when I lay down. Said it was from the lapro air they blow inside. 5 incisions. Only 1 hurts. And that pain is both inside and superficial. Here's to getting rid of my "fat clothes" and starting a new life.
