Have you lost your "Wild Thang" urges?
nanahanna replied to Kelliebelly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
JessieBear, my FIL had heart trouble really bad and my MIL (who is 91 3/27/06) said right before he died at age 81 that he was sorry he wasn't "any good" for her anymore in that way. LOL. -
I am not banded yet but hope to be by late spring or early summer. Cardio for me is walking from the kitchen to the back bedroom to hang up clothes I have taken from the dryer! By the time I am through with that I have had my cardio workout!
-
Oh how hilarious! Heeheedilly? I love that. I have always called it at coochie or coochie-cat. Havent seen mine in years...me or my husband. LOL.

Update... Worst week ever. (Long)
nanahanna replied to Oh 2 Be Free's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
So glad you are better! Take it easy with your tummy for awhile! Can I ask why you didn't go to an emergency room? If it had been me, that is exactly what I would have done...they cannot turn you away by law...or at least that is the way it is here in Arkansas. Of course the wait might be long but you were waiting anyway. I am so glad you have a great doctor who will take care of you now! Hang in! -
Have you lost your "Wild Thang" urges?

Girls, girls...enjoy it while you can. I am 61 and don't care if I never have sex again. My husband and I have a great relationship. We laugh together, hold hands, hug, kiss, talk alot and every now and then we have sex. Oh, and he is 2 years my junior. We stopped having sex regularly when the arthritis got so bad I was unable to endure it. However we have found other ways ....heh,heh...if you know what I mean. -
Do complications have anything to do with age?

Wow to you too Bell! That is what...about 10 to 11 pounds per month? That is great! Congratulations! Hope I do as well! -
When you say gas, are you talking about flatulence...or is it heartburn type gas? I have heard that liquid Mylecon helps with gas pains...also some have said they use GasX. Have you tried that? Hope you feel better soon!

Did you do a barium swallow after surgery?
nanahanna replied to Anwyn's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
OK, I cant resist! Immediately after SX? :omg: Is that SEX or SURGERY? LOL. Ok, OK, I'll shut up now. My mind is in the gutter!:heh: -
Kimmie, did you have diverticulitis before surgery? I also have it. I was diagnosed last May and have had 4 attacks since then. I keep antibiotics on hand and at the first sign of diverticulitis pain I begin taking them. I am still learning what I can and cannot eat. Seems to me the liquid diet at the beginning of the pand and right after fills should help with that. At least that is what I am hoping. Good luck to you!

I have severe arthritis and have been unable to do anything but walk about 100 feet for 3 years. It has been really a downer, but the arthritis is getting a little better now with the methotrexate and I am hoping that when I get banded I can exercise more since the arthritis should improve after losing some weight. I have no stamina though or staying power because of all the years (at least 3, maybe more) of just sitting around because I was in such pain and so fatigued from the arthritis. I am determined to be able to exercise though when I get banded and start losing weight!

Does pounds/% to lose determine band?
nanahanna replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hmmmm...I would like to know that too! I don't think I need to lose but about 80 pounds which would put me at the top of my recommended weight. The reason I think this is because I am 61 and the older you are the older you look when you are so skinny. When I was 25 I looked great at 125, but I don't think I would now. Anyway...that is getting away from your question. LOL. -
congratulations Jennifer! What is so great to me (being that I am going to be banded sometime after 4/1/06) is those who are able to come home from the surgery and just 4 or 5 hours later go online and post they are home and doing well! Another plus I am thinking of is that I have never thrown up in my life...really! I do get nauseated with viruses etc. and after my laparoscopic tubal ligation but that is because they fed me breakfast AND lunch as soon as I woke up....ugggh! I was really sick but didn't throw up and I have a good gag reflex too...can't brush my tongue at all when I brush my teeth!

Talked to the insurance coordinator at the doctors office this morning. She has put me down for 2/9 for a seminar! She said I don't have to do anything as far as medicare...i.e. six month dr. supervised diet etc. I am getting sooooo excited! Oh, don't laugh if you see typos....yesterday was my 36th wedding anniversar;y and my hubby bught me a laptop! I stayed up till 2:00 a.m. this morning playing on it! Having to get used to the different feel of the keyboard. LOL.

Why to people get so angry about WLS?
nanahanna replied to sleepyjean's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
1. Gluttony may be a sin but not all gluttons are fat. 2. Tell the boyfriend not to let the door hit him in the A$$ when he leaves. Heh, heh. -
Just got back from Plastic Surgeon...
nanahanna replied to Kelliebelly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Kelly, good for you quitting smoking! I lost my dad to lung cancer, my mom to emphysema and my only sibling to lung cancer 3 years ago. She and my mom died 10 months apart. Let me tell you...that was hard. So you will be doing the most wonderful thing for yourself and the plastic surgery is the icing on the cake. You will be beautiful and healthy! Congratulations and best wishes to you! -
take my prescription pain meds during my two week preop liquid diet and postop? I HAVE to have it or I cannot function due to the arthritis pain. Or, will I have to get the rheumatologist to give me a RX for liquid pain meds? What about other meds that I take daily? Just curious. Need to start planning now! I am hoping to be able to get off all meds after I lose the weight!

My DIL is pregnant. My 4 y/o and 6 y/o grandsons have asked me when I was having my baby! The 4 y/o told me the other day I looked like a potato that I had on my countertop! It was little at the top and big at the bottom! LOL. -

ShavieLou, you were probably reply to one of the others who have posted on this thread, but I am not allowed to take any NSAID/painreliever but Tylenol occasionally with the Methotrexate except also for the Darvocet.
