I am very frustrated but I've had a positive feeling ever since DR told me they'd submit to insurance on my last appt. Thanks to the recent comments; I feel much better honestly. HW: 251 -1/25/17 CW: 238 -6/27/2017 GW: 140 Tentative surgery date: 7/19/17

Omg, this makes me feeel sooooo much better. It's funny you say that because when I called insurance one lady transferred me over to the preauth department. But they told me they couldn't help since it was a providers only line. I called my drs surgeon again yesterday but no answer, again. Hopefully I can get some answers Monday or on my preop appt on Tuesday. HW: 251 -1/25/17 CW: 238 -6/27/2017 GW: 140 Tentative surgery date: 7/19/17

Started my Ketosis Pre-op diet yesterday, today I've noticed I'm PMS'n and have horrible cravings. I started my own version of the preop diet 3 weeks ago and have lost 15lbs so far (1 protein shake + 1 meal (4oz meat, 1/2c rice, 1c veggies) the actual pre op diet is strict on No carbs & protein. I only get to drink 4 shakes a day and have 4oz chicken with 1cuo non starchy veggies + 2tbs fat. Hence why I'm literally going nuts with these pms cravings. Any tips or food suggestions I could possibly eat without breaking my preop diet? #sendhelp #day2of14 HW: 251 -1/25/17 CW: 238 -6/27/2017 GW: 140 Tentative surgery date: 7/19/17

I should of gotten on this sooner. I actually called my insurance again today. To avoid being a hassle to my surgeons assistant. Once again insurance said they hadn't received anything. I called the assistant and left her a voicemAil voicing my concerns. If she doesn't call back tomorrow morning I'll be calling again. I'm definitely worried now more than ever. Surgery is exactly 2 weeks away HW: 251 -1/25/17 CW: 238 -6/27/2017 GW: 140 Tentative surgery date: 7/19/17

My surgeon submitted all paperwork to insurance today, and scheduled surgery for July 19!! Fingers crossed it gets approved. they did give me a list of vitamins to buy and protein shakes/powders but I want to know what other drinks/foods I should rack up on prior to surgery so that I can have everything at home and make it easier for my husband (since he will be taking care of our 2y/o son as well).

Good luck on surgery!!! I'm waiting for approval but if it's approved I'll be set for 7/19 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Are you a coffee drinker? Maybe decaf too. I've gotten chicken broths, veggie broths and beef as well. Started this journey 1/25/17 SW: 251 CW: 244 Goal weight: 130 Surgery date: 7/19/17

Bought a couple of things for the preop diet/post op liquids phase. Gonna go out and buy gold standard whey protein (all time fave); still have to get crystal light, protein bars & some more boxes of almond milk. Any suggestions as what to get would be great!

I saw the clear drink i have no clue where to find it. I've checked Walmart target and stop and shop, no luck yet. My pre op diet consists of all protein shakes/bars through out the day with only 1 small meal (bfast, lunch or dinner) Started this journey 1/25/17 SW: 251 CW: 244 Goal weight: 130 Surgery date: 7/19/17

Surgery Scheduled for July, Anyone else?
Nmelo723 replied to surviving5's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have also started writing lists. Even though my surgery hasn't been approved yet I was given a surgery date. I've gone out and bought different proteins in bulk since we will be drinking them through out all stages post op and since our taste buds might change I didn't want to risk just buying one kind & end up disliking it or not tolerating it. In my hospital we finish the liquids phase whilst there. But it's good to get broth and sugar free jello, veggie juice , crystal light and sugar free juices as back up since we never know what our new stomachs will tolerate. For the soft foods stage I've gotten apple sauce and when the surgery date is closer I will buy fruits and veggies to puree. Although my hospital doesn't require puréed food during the soft foods stage, they rather you chew chew chew until the food is puréed in your mouth; but maybe I won't be too good at first with the thorough chewing. For hospital bag Ive read that loose clothing or gowns is best, slip on shoes/slippers so you're not having to bend over. I've found Pinterest the most useful for all of this prep research. Best of luck to you! -

Mine is July 19th, as long as insurance approves! -
The protein bars and g2 is for the preop diet. They gave me strict guidelines to follow for a low calorie diet. Consists of drinking 4 protein shakes a day alternating between shakes and protein bars and just 1 meal a day.

That's right. I'd still like to know others' experiences though. Just to get an idea.
