  1. I'm sure there are others, but I know that Bariatric Advantage meal replacements are lactose free and have less than a gram of sugar per serving.

    Soup suggestions

While I was in my full liquids stage I just had a lot of "cream of " soups, like chicken, mushroom, celery...all strained of course. I also had tomato soup and potato soup a couple of times, but less often as they were higher in sugar/carbs. (Not that it probably matters all that much when we're only having a little at a time, but still ) I added those to the chicken and beef broth from clear liquids.
  3. Two days post-op I couldn't get fluids down for anything. That and my intolerance to medicines is why I ended up staying in the hospital on an IV for four days. Just try to go slowly and steadily, that's all I can offer! It's just very important to stay hydrated.

    Skin changes

I'd like more insight on this too, no matter how much lotion I put on and I do meet my fluid requirements, my skin is like sandpaper! So frustrating.

    Diet coke

I drank tons of Diet Coke before surgery. I haven't craved it since (I'm close to a month out) but I'm pretty scared that once I get back to regular food I'm going to miss the routine of having a Diet Coke with my meals. I hope not!

    Hydration issues

@Risa900 I'm pretty sure they're sugar free! I think they're sweetened with aspartame, which some people have a problem with, but I don't worry about it.

What did you tell your young kids?

That's what my mother told me after her RNY when I was 9, lol! None of us knew that years and years later I'd be getting sleeved....

    Weight training

At the end of 3 weeks (a few days ago, lol!) I started doing light weight exercises on the machines so that I could avoid engaging my core. This was the recommendation I got, and it's served me well thus far! I'm going to just listen to my body to see when it can handle more.

    Phase one

Seconded! In fact, broth was the only thing I could get down in the hospital.

    Anyone else feel this way?

I'm almost 4 weeks post op and I feel this way all the dang time. So much that I've isolated myself from other people when I know they're going to eat. But everyone says this will pass, and I trust the wise people here, so let's hang in there

    Activity question

I had my sleeve on a Thursday and had enough trouble getting fluids down that I wasn't released from the hospital until Sunday. Nevertheless, I went back to work on Monday I did get pretty tired halfway through the day, but nausea wasn't a problem for me. I'm sure it's different for everyone though.

    Would like to know too!

    Always cold after surgery?

I haven't even lost much weight yet and I'm still getting freezing so easily.
  14. Hi twenty-somethings, I'm Emily and I was sleeved Feb 9. It's been tough already so I wanted to join these forums to get some support. I'm going to grad school in June and full time employed right now (I spent 3 days in the hospital and went back to work the next day, ugh!) so I'm super busy. Looking for buddies to share our pain! Lol.

    Just saying hi!

I had my beans last night and my scrambled egg this morning and I'm happy to report no complications

    Just saying hi!

I started purees tonight with some mushed up black beans and broth...hoping for no musical complications. Lol
  17. Hey guys! I'm about four days from the start of mushies/purees and I was hoping to hear from some veterans about your favorite things to eat during this stage. I'm pumped
  18. I've only lost a sperm whale's brain so far, but after this week 3 stall I'm hoping for more!

    Unjury

I love mixing the unflavored powder into various cream Soups (last two days of full liquids, yay!). I also enjoyed the chicken soup flavor on its own. I haven't tried any of the sweet flavors.

    Stomach Band or Support

The hospital gave me an abdominal binder (I woke up with it after surgery) and I have not stopped wearing in in the 19 days since! I personally like the support but everyone's different.

    Just saying hi!

@sleevinpops I'm going to add you now!
  22. I've used the Bariatric Advantage chocolate Protein shake too and while I'm sick of it at this point, I found it very palatable. I'm also a fan of the "unjury" chicken Soup flavor and the unflavored that I can mix into premade Soups, because I need savory as much as possible now. I don't have any specific Vitamin recommendations as I wanted to save money and just used the gummy Vitamins I already had (don't copy me )
  23. Thanks guys. I've already been cheating a little and having butternut squash soup (pretty thin though!) but I could use some nice thick split pea. And I'm chomping at the bit to try the ricotta bake everyone talks about!!

    Just saying hi!

I got the flex 2, which I liked because it's swim proof and I hope to do a good amount of swimming when I'm cleared to do so at my follow up
