  1. So in 2012 I had the sleeve done in Mexico and was pretty successful initially. At that time my highest weight was 270 and with the sleeve I lost almost all of my excess weight. However, after 2 years I ended up getting pregnant again and not long after giving birth separated from my husband. So, long story short, I battled a severe depression and not only regained all of my weight but added another hundred pounds to it! My highest weight was 361, and about 7 months ago I began looking into revising to a bypass. I was put on a 6 month doctor supervised diet, and lost about 20 pounds, and am currently waiting to meet with my surgeon. My insurance approved me so far, and I get positive feedback from my doctor I see for weight loss. My main issue is that I am so scared of failing at this AGAIN. I was one of those people that was like "I will NEVER go back to my old eating habits" and I looked down on others who had regained after wls, not knowing that there really is so much more to it than the surgery. I still feel like I dont know how I am supposed to be eating, the dietician I was seeing really didnt go over that, believe it or not. I feel ashamed to admit this but I do not know how to eat like a "normal. healthy person". Quantity is not so much an issue for me but quality is, I wish I had so much more knowledge about not only hoq to eat healthy but how to prepare meals for a family also. I have 5 children, and they really aren't picky, its just that I dont feel like I am equipped for long term success. If there is any links anyone wants to share or anything I would really appreciate it! I am so embarrassed, I feel like I should already know this stuff, so I am honestly scared to ask people at this point. Sorry for such a pathetic post, but I just CANNOT afford to fail at this again. My kids need their mommy back and I know that with the right "tools" I can be successful, so what did you all do to get your menu ideas?

    Sleeve to RNY.

I am feeling so much of the same emotions as you. Nesides the drinking your story cpuld be mine. I not only regained but added an extra 100 pounds, and the feeling of "what if" and anticipating my failure almost feels like im signing my own death certificate. My depression was dark and now that I've been lifted out I feel like this 2nd chance really could be just that- a second chance! Let yourself forgive yourself. And then, let's do this again. I've never been obe to fall and stay down so today is not gonna be the start of that. Honey, you did a brave thing by posting this and believe it or not you spoke to something deep inside my spirit, it's almost like I needed to read this to remind me I AM NOT ALONE! And neither are you. The fear can be that light under our ***** that keeps us from giving up! Im here for tou if you ever need someone to talk to. Sent from my LGMS428 using BariatricPal mobile app

  4. I am still pre-op but i literally have NO clothes! I live in California, so I am kind of curious how much you are asking, how would we figure out what you have that I might like to get, and then figure out a price? Do you have a page with pics? I never have bought clothes online from another individual lol so this is interesting but totally helpful because who wants to pay full price for clothes that we aren't going to be wearing for very long, right?!

This question has only been asked a 100 times

Just got denied today...pretty bummed BUT the good news is my Dr. Was trying to preauthorize BEFORE doing supervised diet. I had sleeve back in 2012 and since then had a baby, let myself go and not only gained all my weight back, i added an extra 100 lbs in there (so humiliating:-/ ) so the dr. thought they might approve me without a diet. WRONG! Insurance said I have to complete a 4-5 month supervised diet and exercise plan. I think ita weird that they said 4-5 months, like can you be more vague! Im gonna push for 5 months so the chances of a second denial are slim. Hoping for approval and surgery sometime August...wish me luck! Good luck to you as well!

    Anthem BC/BS Mass?

Lol I totally needed to read this this morning! I've been non-stop on these message boards while waiting for approval from anthem BCBS California. "You'll get it, chill" was exactly what I needed. I have prediabetes, high cholesterol, and BMI over 50 so there should be no reason for denial..Thanks for the words of wisdom

Less than 50 pounds to go..

    Amazing results! Way to go!
  12. I too am just beginning the process of sleeve to rny revision. My sleeve was done in 2012, and I too wish I would have opted for rny primarily as well. Waiting for pre auth from ins to see surgeon and just saw PA last week. Good luck!!

    8 months after sleeve

    Congrats, you look wonderful!!
  14. You MUST be expedient about your eating and nutrition. I began writing my story a few minutes ago and accidental erased the entire thing, so i will put the short version. I was sleeved 2012. Git to goal in about 18 months. Maintained for about 3 years. Got pregnant. Didn't put much emphasis on my health and nutrition above and beyond what I thought was good for baby. Always allowed myself to sneak a lil extra or splurged because i was "eating for two"?..you know the excuses we told ourselves to get to the point of needing the wls in the first place. My son is now 19 months old and i have gained 100+ lbs. Im doing 6 month preop diet in HOPES that my ins will approve revision to rny. I always said i would NEVER let myself get like that again and in fact the people who would post about regaining used to make me so annoyed lol, like duh how could you go thru all this and go right back?! Well it happens one day at a time, one bad meal choice at a time, and if you are not extremely aware of the possibility that it can happen to you, you might be the one next time writing on someone else's message. Ppleeeeeze make wise choices and good luck to you!! You got this! (Sorry for the negative view its just a reality, my reality that i don't wish upon anyone!)

    Long Term effective sleevers

I was sleeved in 2012, and am currently working on getting revision to gastric bypass [emoji17] I was initially very successful and hit goal after 2 years. However... I had a baby in July 2015 and not only gained back my weight but went into such a deep depression I gained almost 100+pounds. Not typical of most sleevers but just sharing my personal story. I had my tubes tied and this time around I will be doing things BY THE BOOK! Good luck to you!
