    Stopped Losing

I lost quickly the first 5 weeks and entering 6th week to about the 9th week I lost very very very slowly... then out of no where I started losing again! Don't get discouraged, you're probably not doing anything wrong. It's just your body trying to adjust. Had surgery Feb 17th and down 60lbs

    6 week Stall & Gain

I don't have much light to shed besides the fact Ive been at a stall for last two to three weeks fluctuating 3 lbs. Sleeved 2/17 Researched it a bit and after talking to my doctor, I'm reading and being told I need to up my calories. I'm at about 600cal a day. Thinking if adding avocado since the pack in the calories. Also been on menstrual for 3 weeks!! And horrible acne!! Dr informed me that we have estrogen in our fat cells and when we lose quickly, we have surplus of estrogen causing these things..as for the stalls, I really think it's our bodies trying to defy logic!

    February surgery buddy's?

I did! February 17th Pre Op: 348lb Surgery: 331lb On my 6th week: 301lb -47lb Had a couple days that I stopped losing so I read up on stalls and feel it could be from low calories, so I upped my calories and began exercising little more and the scale started moving. Energy: Great! As long as I'm taking my vitamins
  5. You're absolutely beautiful!!! Such an inspiration!!! Thank you for sharing! In regards to your husband, don't let it get you down. He might just feeding from insecurities of losing you, maybe? Hope things get better at home.

19 Days Post Op Can't Eat

I'm right there with you!! Three teaspoons is about all my tummy wants for now and I think that's ok. Still drinking my protein shakes as well and taking vitamins to make sure I'm not missing needed proteins/vitamins. I'm 17 days post op. Hang in there! Don't let mind hunger control real hunger/fullness

    Time off post op

I'm the black sheep here. Had surgery Friday 2/17 and we had Monday off and went back to work by Tuesday 2/21. I'm a teacher and took half days for the first week and as of 2/28 I started full days again. My energy is pretty high for some reason. I feel no pain just still cautious of my stomach and staying away from the tight hugs from the kiddos! Good luck to you!
  8. I remember waking up and seeing people around me in recovery room. There were several of us in there. It hurt to breathe and I just remember repeating, Please help me, it hurts. I would knock out and wake up a lot and continued whispering that. One of the times I woke, they were bringing a lady in next to me and she was screaming really loud from pain!! Then I knocked out again and when I woke up again I overheard they had to give get strong meds to knock her out. I continued to tell them I was still in pain but they just told me there was nothing they could give me because it was probably gas pains. Inhaling deep was painful and it's really important to do the breathing exercises with the little apparatus they give you! The pain from breathing finally dissipated by 5th day. Felt as though I had a partial collapsed lung but didn't stop those breathing exercises until pain finally went away!!
  9. Hey Melisa G! I'm 8 days post op sleeve as well and just got to 11oz of my premier protein in about an hour as well. That's about 3oz every 15 minutes. I think it's good. Getting in our liquids and protein! I highly doubt we're stretching the sleeve because it's not a solid. By any chance have any of you had bleeding at your incisions? Started yesterday, very dark blood, and surgeon on call informed me to squeeze as much out. Im not too worried since I have no other symptoms and it's not red around incision..just wondering if anyone else had this issue?

    One month post

Wow that's amazing!! Any tips or advice?
  11. Congratulations Carolyn! You're looking beautiful and radiant, keep up the great work!! I'm barely 4 days post op, any advice?
  12. Yes!! Definitely feels like I'm pregnant again. Super cautious getting up and sitting down. Stomach very bloated. Had surgery 2/17
  13. I was sleeved on 2/17 with hiatal hernia repair as well. I was told I could only sip one ounce every 15 minutes. If I sip too quickly, I get a tightening in my chest for a couple seconds and then it passes. Surgeon discharged me yesterday and let me know I can do about 2 ounces of liquid at a time and that for some reason water is harder to go down opposed to flavored sugar free water. Today only got about 30oz down.

    Drain Tube

I'm currently in hospital. Had surgery today and didn't get a drain bag. I asked my nurse just an hour ago and she just said not everyone gets it, but didn't give explanation. I'll ask my surgeon tomorrow. One unexpected thing I didn't think I would have is pain from breathing. When my chest cavity expands, it causes pain. They say it's normal so I continue walking to try to get air out. Also, very much cotton mouth after surgery. They didn't let me drink any water until 4hrs after surgery was complete. Once I was allowed water, I was only allowed to take sips of one ounce every 15 minutes.
  16. Hi everyone! Finished my 6 month weight management and got all my ducks in a row for my UHC insurance and finally spoke to surgeon last Monday. I did my research and since I have occasional heartburn, I heard it can get a lot worse with the sleeve so had my mind set on RNY. However my iron levels have been low, 11.5, and the surgeon is suggesting Sleeve instead. Did anyone have this issue or had RNY with low iron levels? Sent from my E6715 using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. Thank you so much! I really appreciate your advice and input.

    Feb 16 Surgeries.

We sure do!! My name's Mandy, I'll be having surgery Friday in Houston! I think I might be getting the sleeve though. Last I spoke to my surgeon, he told me to think about switching since I'm currently low in iron.
