Thank you for the encouragement. I do know that I won't have to do the liquid diet prior, which I am super stoked about. I'm not worried about the post op liquid diet because I know that I will be in pain and feel like crap so I'm sure I won't feel like having anything more than liquid.
The reason I am concerned about my BMI is because of the way the insurance company has the prior auth worded. I'm a nurse and have access to what my doctor has access to, which in some cases is not so great - like this. I tried to call the insurance company and they were very vague with me and told me to talk to my Dr. unfortunately I just haven't heard back yet.

Good morning all!
I can't even begin to tell you about all the mixed emotions I have flowing through my body! But today is my day! I'll be getting the sleeve. It will be my first surgery as an adult so I'm very very nervous. On the other hand, I'm more excited to finally be here for my life changing journey! I just got this app yesterday and I wish I knew of it sooner! Since I downloaded it last night, I have not stopped reading!! There's so much info and great stories shared! I absolutely love it!! I hope to have many more convos and gather even more tips and info from those who know best..THE ONES THAT WENT THROUGH IT THEMSELVES! Anything anybody wants to share please feel free! I'm all ears!

Hey Dan glad this has been useful for you!
I definitely PLAN on keeping this type of diet, I think it will be that most helpful for me long-term. My friend who inspired me to do this is about 11 months post surgery and still eats very healthy so that's good.
I just don't have the urge to eat the stuff I used to, and I'm hopeful that will remain as I go forward. I'm learning that I really like making my own meals and I'm actually eating with a lot more variety than I used to. Before surgery I would always default to fast food, usually the same crap over and over again.
I bought an instant pot (non brand name) a few days ago and it's fantastic. Already made a few great meals in it, I highly recommend you check it out to help with your food preparation.
