  1. So, getting finances in order, I managed to sell my 2016 Toyota Avalon. It was a beautiful car, of which surprisingly, I’m doing fine without and I actually don’t miss it; and also of which resulted in having a one-vehicle household, which resulted in me HAVING to walk 2.2 miles everyday 5x a week to get my daughter to school. I’m actually quite glad, I’m feeling better/stronger again, and I dropped almost $20,000 of debt. WIN-WIN!

  2. So I busted my butt at the gym literally. Not Every Workout Will Be Graceful.

  3. hey everyone. I didn’t keel over and die...just been awol from here.  Been busy getting another aspect of my life in order...finances! Lol. It’s been a ride but it’s good.

So, I’m almost a year out. I don’t have any numbers to give ya except I’m close to the goal the doc’s office set for me. I’m still going strong with my plant eating. Yum. So strong that my body rejects chicken. Lol. Okay, my taste buds rejected a bite of chicken I had at a bbq.

I guess I should get some numbers for the newbies soon, it always helps to see what you can be at a year out or more right? I’ll do it closer to my date which is the15th of May.

    Blessings to you all.

Glad to see you are still doing well. Keep it up!! It is great to show people all aspects of this journey by having people who took the same main road but when down different side roads and stayed determined.

I cannot wait for an updated photo.

@Mattymatt I fall at least twice a week, but I get back up and go at it again. I wanted to show people that it is not always going to smooth and easy. That there will be falls and the only thing you can do is get back up and do it again. I hit the gym almost 6 times a week now and I still am not graceful. Besides, I love the fact that I fall all the time, it makes my arms stronger when I am pushing myself back up.

There is soo many times I felt like giving up and just saying F*** it. I will never lose any more weight or get rid of all of this fat. I am soo glad that I did not. I took this picture after a work out on Friday and I have to say "Dammmmnnn Gina" lol. I am coming together so nicely. I may not need to spend that much money on stomach after all lol. I am soo excited to keep this going. I cannot wait to see what I look like in 6 more months. This year has been amazing. My Ab is starting to come in too.

  11. Since this journey, even people at work are treating me differently. People used to never ask me to do physical activities and in the last 2 days, I have been asked to the following:

    1) Join the companies 5K marathon team for next year

    2) Join the companies Friday Night Bike Ride through Prospect Park

    3) Even joining a kickboxing class with another employee

It just blows my mind that people invite me to things like this. I am soo excited to try new things that I would have been afraid to do.

@Newme17 I am sooo excited about this. My co-worker made me a training schedule to prepare for a 5K. I am over the moon excited about it. He told me that my journey has inspired even the “Skinny” employees to get up off their butts and workout. I just laughed. He said, that though they are small, they aren’t healthy neither and could use the inspiration.

  13. My gym is closed on the weekends. I feel sad. I wish I could just go workout. I miss it. President's Day they are closed too. I am like :49_triumph: . This interferes with my workouts. Now, I have to workout at home. Well, I have a jump rope and a medicine ball.

I got back down to 189.6 lbs. I have increased my cardio with weight lifting, as well as consistently worked on my Abs.

I hope your wrist gets better. While I was reading your post, I couldn’t help but imagine the fall and the cartoon sound. I would hold off on weights for a little too.

Nope there are no victims here. Just strong people reclaiming their lives each and everyday.

You had such an eventful week. Oh man, someone hit your car, police get called. I am sure you were like what else could possibly happen. Whop Whop!! PoPo knocking at the door. It’s crazy how so much can happen in a short period of time.

The amazing thing is how we can laugh about the craziness now instead of turn to food.

Yeah that stuff has my tummy looking like a waterfall when all is said and done.

Lol, I use sweet sweat and a neoprene to help me sweat. I honestly have a hard time sweating to it makes my tummy pour down. That's where I hold most of my water and feel bloated.

Since upping my cardio, the weight has been coming down. I think the key for me is equilibrium lol. That is the the key to everything. Also my diet has equaled out. I have no more than 40g of carbs with 120g of Protein. Limiting the fats a bit to no more than 20g. Also increasing my water intake by another 10 oz getting me up to 74 oz. This has been working and I see and feel the change.

      Yayy for being strong.

  16. I get to my gym this morning to find a note plastered on the door that they’ll be closed temporarily (like a few months) due to construction needing to be done. Okay, that’s fine. But why didn’t they inform their members in advance? Sigh... Anyway, I have the option to drive clear across town to three other locations, but not sure I want to. Would you drive or suck it up and try and workout at home?

@Newme17 Yeah, I have become a gym rat. I am really cool with the trainers, the people that work out their and Vinny the cleaning guy. It is what makes you want to go. I enjoy my gym. I enjoy my trainer and enjoy seeing people making gains.

I would drive to the nearest location. My gym is across the street from my job which is a 1 hour - 1 hour and a half ride on public transportation. I make it a point to head there even on my off days as they are open only Monday - Fridays 6 am - 8 pm.

I agree with your husband. You do not have a reason to not drive across town and workout.

@Newme17That is awesome that he is going to pull through. I feel bad for the children. That is going to be hard to get over. They will need a lot a therapy to get better. I hope that they also can come out of this stronger. It will be hard and they will have nightmares but with the right help, they can overcome this horrific hurdle.

  21. So yesterday, I did a dumb thing. I went to see the Dietitian and Therapist at my surgeons office and I was so anxious at the fact that I had not lost any more weight. I had forgot to eat since Thursday morning (It could have been that I subconsciously did it out of fear of being told I am not doing a job). I weighed in at 196 lbs and found out that I had lost 5 inches since my last visit which they were proud of. They gave me a much needed pep talk and I was ready to tackle on the world again.

I went to the gym (still had not eaten) and began my workout. My second set in and apparently I fainted. I know my trainer woke me up and apparently, I was trying to climb on the pull-up bars yelling, “I have to do the pull-ups” . Then in the Ambulance I am telling them that they are trying to hold me back from exercising and this is why our relationship will never workout . They tried to give me Oxygen and apparently I got rude with them and said, “I’m not paying $400 for **** that I can do naturally and for free.”

After some testing, I found out my blood pressure and sugar was very low and I was severely dehydrated as well.

Well 6 hours, $100 copay (probably hundreds in ER bills cause they will charge you for napping) and an annoyed mother later, the moral of the story is to remember to eat. Just eat. Don’t worry about the scale and the mind games it plays. Just eat. Now I am not saying junk food or anything like that but eat the healthy stuff. Don’t be afraid to.

I was so in my own head, that I forgot one of the most essential parts of living and that is fueling this body I have worked so hard for.

    1. Sleeve1stFitNext

      Sleeve1stFitNext

@FluffyChix Yeah. I was pretty delusional so I was talking crap to people the whole time. I have been setting a timer to remind myself to eat.

  24. After a week of keeping my mind on the goal, I got down from 196.2lbs to 193.9lbs. I am soo happy. I have not words to describe it. It gave my a renewed hope that I can come down a bit more. I personally don't like being so close to the 200lbs because it is soo easy to get back up to that amount.

This weekend, I spent time looking at my older workout videos and that the one that gets me is the pull up. My first time, I did 3 and 1/2. I struggled soo much to do that. Then the next week, I was doing 6 and I was not struggling as much. It just reminded how far I had come.

Sometimes we focus on the finish line soo much, we do not take time to look back and see how far we have come from the starting line. I have come to the conclusion that I may not get to my weight goal due to my love of weight lifting and strength training but I will take being able to do a pull up and one day hopefully as push up any time.

@Newme17 It has taken awhile for me to get used to the whole sculpting the body then losing the weight on the scale. I am just happy that changes are happening. Although they maybe slow, it has been a fun journey and I want to be strong.

@karen_marie Thank you. I wanted to be around the 150lbs with muscle but the build of my body allows a lot more muscle. I have packed on soo much of it. My coworker who has been weight training since his early 20's says I annoy him because I can easily gain muscle but he has to struggle to gain. I advised him that while I can gain muscle easier, he burns fat extremely quickly. So we are both **** out of luck lol.

I am sure you will be able to do more than just one pull up down the road.
