    Pre-op diet. Need a buddie

I know the liquid protein diet is no fun. I have lost 22 pounds or around there since I started with my mandatory appts to be considered for surgery. (5 Jan 2017) I have lost 12 lbs in 12 days which is when I last saw my surgeon to complete the paper work and have exam for surgery. I started the preop liquid diet 4 days after that appt. Stay strong and there will be rewards!

  6. Day one of pre-op diet in the books. The day was not bad, ( i know its only day one!) I consumed 4 protien shakes of various variety. One pre made Premier Protein Choc, and the other three made with two different protein powders in unsweetened vanilla almond or soy milk. three cups of broth/stock and one sf Jello cup. (Broth, sf jello and sf popcicles are free foods) 810 Calories, 28 carbs, 116 gr. protein Hopefully the next 12 days will be as successful!
  7. keeping fingers crossed for your approval! I was not give a date until my insurance was approved. At my last appointment with my surgeon i was told by the financial manager once I was cleared by my surgeon then my case would be submitted for insurance approval. I got the clearance from my surgeon the next day, four days later insurance approval and the next day a surgery date 04/18/2017.

Just reading how many protein shakes in the first day made me feel sick. But I know I'll have to do it when my times comes as well. Good job--for it being not too bad for the first day. I think what helps is the variety of shakes you did. Keep up the good work!

Day three of preop. The shakes are a struggle for me. Make me feel nauseated. Have to drink two protein shakes for breakfast and two or lunch. Good thing is once I get past lunch I'm done with shakes for the day. 👏👏👏. Good luck to everyone.

    What did u eat???

Hello! I can comment on the question you asked regarding soft food diet as i am being sleeved on 04/18/2017. I did notice your stats and am in awe... you are 17 days put from surgery and have lost 120lbs? Please share your secret!!!
  11. good luck tomorrow! Heres to a perfect surgery, minimal pain and a speedy recovery!
  12. I am scheduled to have my sleeve surgery 18 April. In three weeks from today. I have been reading blogs and talking with local sleevers that say not to expect to loose any more just about 60% or your starting weight. That it is nearly impossible to loose more. If this is the case then it seems impossible to reach a goal weight if it is more than 60%? I am suppose to loose 110 pounds to be with in a 5 pound range of the weight my surgeon wants obtained. Can anyone share their weight loss story that has met or nearly met the goal weight

    Day 1 of Pre-Op Diet

    Thanks for the encouragement!
  20. I just received my surgery date last week which is 18 April 2017. I will likely begin the "shake diet" in the next week or so. I have purchased a variety of shakes form our local health/organic store. I have not tried any other than the premier Protein choc. It was ok. I have also purchased premier caramel flavored and Adkins vanilla but haven't tried them yet . I am not a meat eater so I am protein challenged from the get go my dietitian said. Laughing at the same time he said it! I purchased some crystal light like beverage powders and true lemon lemonade for the clear liquid day before surgery. I have had an intolerance to artificial sweeteners had was told years ago by my dr. to avoid them. Well i thought with the new plant based sweeteners I might do ok. Nope, still caused a very upset crapping tummy and loose stools. Water will remain my drink of choice. Any one know of any sweet free drinks?/?
