  1. No idea what a poke bowl is, but was there dairy in either/both dishes?
    My first guess would usually be lactose intolerance (which is super common post op bariatric surgery) or IBS (which is also super common in overweight individuals).
    Though since your incidents were within 24 hours of each other its possible this was something acute instead (unless this isn't the first time you've had this issue)

    Poke is like sashimi which is usually sushi grade raw fish. No dairy to speak of though my stomach has not had a problem with dairy thus far. However I'm thinking the problem today was spicy tuna and it still being flared up from the day before.

    Why would anyone be mad at you ? And hmm I'm not sure what could cause it but keep an eye on it and perhaps get it checked if it continues.

    haha some might frown upon the eating of half a flour tortilla since breads rice and stuff (unless multigrain or wheat bread) is a no-no. Which is why the cramps today are such a surprise I didn't have any breads or rice. Just meat and veggies which is usually ok for me. I'm wondering if perhaps my stomach is just still sensitive from the previous mishap. Im keeping an eye on it and sticking to strictly liquids for the next few days. I might send an Email to my surgeon as well.

  3. Okay guys don't be mad at me. I'm at the 12-month mark of my surgery okay maybe just reaching 11. So far it's been great super smooth sailing, lost 105 lbs feeling great and working out. Does anyone ever get super massive stomach cramps? I don't get dizzy or throw up just really intense stomach cramps. I thought it might have been because I ate half a flour tortilla the other day that's when they started. However when I woke up this morning I was fine I was able to eat regularly again with no pain... that was until tonight I had a poke Bowl no rice Just Fish, avocado, edamame, seaweed salad and regular salad greens under that. So why do I feel like I'm dying again the tortilla passed through fine though it was a close call that taught me a lesson. But I've had sashimi since the surgery and been fine and again I didn't have ANY RICE or other pasta/bread bits? Was my sleeve just sensitive after the first bit? I guess it's liquid diet for the next few days but has anyone had this problem or problem specifically with poke? Im just wondering what gives since this seemed fine to eat before.

    Edit: Also I have no Idea why this triple posted Im trying to delete the other two but it isn't letting me x.x;

    I'm at about the 9 month mark since my gastric sleeve surgery!!! I've only just reached the point where I've lost 100 pounds. It's been a hard road and a lot of tears, I still hate sweating and working out and have bad days sometimes. The truth is I never want to go back and that's what keeps me motivated to keep moving. I was a size 26/28 at the begining and last week I was able to squeeze into a size 18! Which I haven't done in years. I'm so happy and I know this is still the honeymoon stage but I'm really hoping this feeling lasts!

    (Also hoping this is the right subforum)

  5. So sorry to hear it! It's so hard to do these things by yourself. I am single but I have my family and my cat I cant imagine doing it on my own! So you are a very strong person and this place here is a good way to find support as well!

  6. @outsidematchinside use to? You still do! Hang on a minute. Now sometimes she can come across as a little harsh but more often then not I've seen great advice come from OMI. I know she's advised me on the right path more then once despite it not always being what I wanted to hear. It was great info and it helped me steer clear of doing the wrong thing. Be careful not to become what you all are talking about. Avoid those who you don't want to talk to but don't chase them off! Your doing what you're accusing others of! That's kind of not cool mah guys.

  7. @Mucheca I am about 4 months post op still on soft foods. Once you start seeing results and get out of at least the liquid phase you should start to feel better. Right now your still recovering from surgery trauma and not getting a ton of nutrition. It's a very low energy phase to be in. Make sure you are getting in your Water and protien (And vitamins) as they are good for healing.

  8. This surgery can really mess with your hormones and state of mind in the beginning. You are in the hardest stage right now but it does get easier to adjust please hold fast. I would recommend calling someone or perhaps setting an appointment up with psyche. Some sort of counseling so you don't have to face this alone.

  9. Some people were just raised differently. What can seem out right rude to some is just matter of fact for others (though some of those last opinions are a little yikes lol). Some people are a little less....er cuddly then others..perhaps more intense? I'd like to believe all advice comes from some place of caring. At the end of the day they are just looking out for ya the best way they know how spitting out some helpful words of wisdom. It's true there are some people who just don't learn/can't seem to change their ways and it's sad to see someone take this risk to loose weight and end up disappointed and back where they started. No one wants that. I think on that point we can all agree.

  10. I think at first we all like to keep getting on the scale. I know I did! But it's not good to weigh everyday! Weight fluctuates so much it's better to just keep it to a schedule! (Like tmi but you weigh one thing then you take a big poop and boom you're a pound less! You didn't really loose a pound but the scale says you did) I would pick something like weigh every two weeks and continue to give it your all with diet and exercise! The weight will come off your clothes will start to fit looser it just takes time. I mean we didnt gain it all in one day we cant loose it all in one day.(But man would that be nice?)

  11. Whoooaaa guys let's just all chill. It's not that big of a deal. In the scheme of life and the big picture ya know? Now you know there's a saying and it's you catch more bees with honey then you do with vinegar? But there's also a saying that you can lead a horse to Water but you can't make em drink. To me this kinda means no matter what you tell someone no matter the tone it's up to them whether their gonna take your advice or not.. that being said their more apt to listen if your a bit nicer in your criticisms. As for this other beef come on you both said your piece. I don't think either ones gonna give way just let it go and move on it ain't worth the argument honestly.

  12. That is amazing that your doctor was able to find a solution to help with your diabetes. The sugar free Jello definitely is not bad I look forward to that. Thank you so much for the suggestion for the soft foods. Now for the liquid diet would you be able to blend up fresh fruits and make your own popsicles or would that not be liquid enough?

    That's an interesting question. It might not be enough liquid for the liquid part of your diet. Maybe add a little yogurt to them XD

  13. Well you'll probably be ok try a few bites slowly to see how you handle it...maybe stay near the bathroom just in case [emoji5]; . What worries me a little is your 6 days out and while ice cream is soft it does have a consistency so that can feel weird at first so be careful!!!
