No complications Get to start soft food Thursday. Live in Dallas had surgery here. I have hypothyroidism so I am happy so far with the weight loss. Praying it keeps coming off. Don't feel hungry anymore. I have hit Protein and Water goals daily. No change in taste and am back at work after 1 week. Glad to find the 50's group. As my other forums everyone is so young!!

  2. Best of luck! I am getting my surgery tomorrow and I too am new. I joined a support group near my home, but that only meets once a month. I am thankful for this community.

How are you doing post-op Desertcanary? Are you able to get in your fluids and Protein? Hoping all is well.
    Take care,
    Kim

  3. So glad to hear everything went well girl. Take it easy for sure. Sounds like you are doing really well with the fluids.

Thanks Amy! Things are going well. I see my Dr. on Friday and will have drain removed. I'm hoping to have more energy and looking forward to adding foods I can "chew" soon!
How was your consult for your revision surgery?
    Take care,
    Kim

  4. Sleeved on Feb 8th and came home with a drain early on the 9th. Haven't needed pain meds but have been getting nasty Migraine headaches. I typically get 15-20 per month and was hoping they would be better after surgery. I'm doing well with getting in at least 60 grams of Protein a day and 60-80 oz of fluids. Very tired though and have been napping quite a bit. Have any of you tried Decaf coffee yet?

  5. Day two of recovery and clear liquids.I was pretty sore yesterday but today is much better. I ended up needing a drain because I bled quite a bit. Managed to get 48 oz. of fluids in so that was good. Isopure has 40 grams of Protein in 20 oz. I've started another bottle today and have 28 oz of Water ready to go. Will also drink Bone Broth to increase the fluids and protein. Just have to remember to take small sips rather than my normal swallow otherwise it hurts too much! Keep sharing your progress so we can help each other along[emoji4]

  6. Hello Everyone,
I'm Kim, will be turning 54 in April and am having my sleeve surgery tomorrow! This app is very new to me and I'm not exactly sure how to navigate it but like the idea of finding and offering positive support to one another. I have had several health issues in the past six years that have brought me to a place where I'm heavier than I've ever been and actually more concerned with several co-morbidities rather than just wanting to look good and wear smaller sizes. With that said, I have been overweight all my life and used food to soothe myself, Celebrate, numb, etc. I'm excited to have the surgery but scared without a head transplant (lol) I will fail after the honeymoon phase. Finding a group to discuss our successes and struggles while keeping a positive focus is what I'm looking for. I'm also seeking a buddy with a similar outlook who would like accountability and encouragement and a listening ear. Anyone who could teach me a few tips and tricks about this app would be welcomed as well![emoji6]

Make it a great day, friends!

Sleeve Surgery next Wednesday the 8th!

I decided not to choose a GW yet because I'm 53 and post menopausal thanks to chemotherapy treatment in 2010 AND have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis so I'm not too sure what my metabolism is capable of. I'm going to give it everything I've got and am looking forward to getting healthy and off of some medication very soon. I just found this site last night but can't figure out how to navigate an add to my profile, etc so any help would be much appreciated.

I don't know about you all but I have been looking forward to being called "Petite" after I get rid of this weight!! Not that the fashion choices are great but it just sounds better than "short and stocky" !

So cheers to our petite and pretty group!!
