Hey there, just checking in on your progress. I had the same revision as you 12 days ago. How are you doing?
Hi, I'm not sure about the 5 days. I don't know what the mini bypass is. I took 8 weeks because I was still very sluggish. I had private disability insurance so it wasn't an issue. Bypass is more involved than sleeve, so don't rush recuperation. I was told weight loss would be slower also. Since surgery on 11/20 I have lost 27 pounds. I'm losing now about .5 to 1.0 lbs a week. I'm not having any bread rice or potatoes, limiting all sugar and carbs. My exercising is limited because I have a bad back, but I'm trying. Good luck and let me know how you are doing.

Thanks, you should see a gastroenterologist, they were the ones to figure it out. If it is sphincter of oddi it won't get better only worse. They also said it usually happens after gallbladder is removed and it usually doesn't happen that quickly. Bloodwork becomes elevated also. My liver enzymes were doubling after each attack and bilirubin was elevated. Keep us posted and hope you feel better soon.

They always check gallbladder before surgery, but if you are sick you should be checked again. You should see a gastroenterologist.

After gallbladder was removed I started having the same pain again, was in the ER 3 times in a week, with negative hida negative chest, abd, pelvis ct. Finally my gastro guy said he thinks it is my sphincter of odi. So they did an ERCP and the sphincter was sealed shut, so they did a sphincterotomy. They sliced it open and now it's opened permanently. No more pain!!!!

Nausea and fullness initially, then progressed to full-on chest pain radiating to back. Pain lasted 15 minutes to start. Squeezing feeling, then lasted hrs months later.

Definitely can be gallbladder. I've experienced it personally 2 months after being sleeved I developed gallstones. I've seen it often in my line of work as an ultrasound technologist.

I had sleeve 2 yrs ago, which I posted before. My reflux got so much worse I had bypass to get rid of it. So far so good, no reflux, 8 weeks out. Go for the Bypass.

Abdominal binder is an elastic band that you wrap around your abdomen to give support

Yes the binder is very helpful. I used it for all my abdominal surgeries. Good luck.

I had bypass Nov 20th, when I got home I was 10 pounds heavier than when I went in. The first week I lost the 10 pounds of Fluid they pumped into me and 11 pounds extra. Haven't lost anything since. I'm still on week 3 puree. Anybody else with no weight loss weeks 2 and 3?

Definitely do bypass instead of sleeve. My gerd got so much worse after sleeve that I just had bypass 2 yrs later.

My gastric sleeve op was not a success. A year post op, I weigh more than I did pre op. I am considering having the bypass but wondering whether the same thing will happen. Also I know it is a more serious op. Has anyone else faced this situation? Any advice?
I am also post sleeve 2015, and pre bypass. For reasons of severe acid reflux. My surgery is for November 20th. I lost 65 lbs but now its 55. I'm hoping I will lose the rest after the bypass, even though I am having the surgery for other reasons. Good luck to you.

I am scheduled for a sleeve revision to gastric bypass, however I never heard of a mini bypass. Can you explain what the difference is?

I've had several medical problems since sleeve surgery. Any suggestions?

My Dr said to only take chewable vitamins with Iron. The only ones I could find were Flintstones chewable, he said that was fine.

I didn't tell many people. After I started losing people kept asking how I did it. Then I was proud to tell them how and that, "it was the best thing I ever did for myself"

I had a lot of abdominal pressure after surgery and found it hard to move around. I told my doc in the hospital and he ordered an abdominal binder. Its a band with Velcro closure. What a difference it made for me. Good luck on your journey.Hey everyone I've found so much useful information since I've joined and can't thank this community enough. Can you guys share tips on how to meet Protein goals on the first days or anything you wish someone had told you that would've made your post op easier.
I'm so excited and so nervous at the same time I hope I can sleep tonight
