    Hello everyone!
I just had my operation on Monday, the 23rd. I found this forum and thought I would share a bit of my history.
I learned how out of control my weight had become by accident. My little brother used to save all our cans and recycling so he could offset his allowance. You go to the plant and they weigh your car before and after. You get paid the difference. We unload and go to weigh out. I wanted to grab the receipt from the clerk so I had to step out. The scale dropped massively. The clerk (and myself) were shocked. I had made it up to approx 650lbs.
I dropped my brother back off at home and I realized I had to make some changes.
Over the years I managed to get down to about 510. I stalled there for a couple years so I decided to opt for the surgery. I got down to 470 as of the date of the surgery.
Pain was pretty high, just today getting up easier. Looking forward to getting back into the gym and boxing again. My goal weight is (just an idea in my head, no science) is about 230. Looking forward forward to seeing what the thinner me is like.
Good luck to everyone in their progress also!

My highest weight was 445 in January 2016, my surgery date was 09/20/16 and my weight was 407 day of surgery. As of today, 01/31/17, 133 days since surgery I have lost 151 lbs.
I never thought "what I had lost" would surpass "what I needed to loose" so quickly. Only 149 lbs to goal. It seems so much more possible now.
I take it one day at a time, one meal, one choice. I don't think about what I need to do tomorrow or that I need to loose "x" amount of weight by "y" date. I'm just thankful I'm alive and I'm moving forward.

I see my PCP on Monday to start my 6 month supervised diet too. I lose really well when I manage to stick to them, but I fall off the wagon easily. Terrified that I may do "too well" on this diet and lose the opportunity to be sleeved, and with it, the chance at long term success.
Anyway, I'm breastfeeding, so I can't be put on any WL medication. Assuming PCP will just want me to keep a diary and give me a set amount of calories to keep under & a goal for weekly exercise time.

I was given a daily logger in which I recorded the food and exercise I did each day. I also started to attend Bariatric Surgery Support Group meetings held once per month and after each meeting I received a paper that stated I attended the meeting. I exercised each day 30 minutes of walking. I tracked the calories I ate. This was especially helpful when I ate out at fast food restaurants. So I changed what I ate. I also gave up consuming carbonated beverages and caffeine. By giving up my 6 diet Coke a day habit alone, I was able to drop 20 pounds pre-op. Then each month I met with my doctor and provided them with this information and discussed my progress and tips on how to lose weight.

Your age has a lot to do with whether you loose some elasticity in your skin making the loose skin not to go away. It also has a lot to do with how obese you got b4 you got your weight loss operation. Usually the hair loss is minimal & whether Hair loss runs in your family, especially if women in your family hair thins with age. The skin on your face is always thinner when you loose weight quickly but most of it goes back to whatever is normal for your face shape. Look at photos of yourself b4 you started gaining weight as a child if need be. When skin is stretched out from becoming obese or even pregnancies, everyone is different from their body shapes & skin's elasticity. Some lucky few women never get stretch makes during pregnancy. The more stretch marks that occurred during your weight gain the less likely your skin will snap back firm to when you were a child or teen. The healthier way you feel loosing weight is the biggest plus ever than staying extremely obese! I've gotten off high blood pressure meds for the 1st time in my adult life & I'm 65. I started getting extremely obese in my mid20s. So I can honestly say I am really enjoying my 60s more than my late 20s, 30s, 40s & 50s because I can walk without getting short of breath & I can actually buy stylish clothes finally. There are side effects to being obese & side effects to surgery. Exercise once your able to! But if the loose skin is your main hate of loosing your weight then you need to save money to get it removed or wear shape garments so you feel better looking in your smaller clothes. For Pete's sake even thin movie stars wear spanks under their red carpet outfits BC they try to elude perfection. We're all our own worst enemies no matter how rich & famous you are. Lol Be so proud of yourself what you did to help yourself & never give up BC the best is yet to come. Smiles goes miles & a huge healer for your outlook on life! Big hugs to you all with a smile included!

I have this and I'm not sleeved yet. It started a couple years ago and my BS will bottom out a few hours after sugary Snacks or meals. The lowest I recorded so far was 34 and I was incredibly incoherent.
I was under the impression that it was a prediabetic issue, like you make too much insulin for the sugar and it becomes overkill. But I also have issues very similar to dumping syndrome as well. I really hope these things won't become magnified with surgery, that's terrifying.

That kind of criticism is often misdirected anger toward things the criticizer doesn't like in themselves. She sees her overweight self in you and likely never learned to love or like herself regardless of her size. Since she's no longer heavy that anger gets directed at you and others who are heavy, which is absolutely not fair.
In your mind imagine handing that criticism back to her saying, "Here, I think you meant to give this to yourself..."
The fact that you recognize what she's doing isn't kind and that you don't want to be like that tells me you're an empathetic person. I don't think you have anything to worry about!

Will whomever keeps putting the size 36 waist pants back in my closet stop it!
It seems like I go through my work pants every week and remove at least one pair of 36" waist pants (I wear a size 32).
Who keeps putting them back in there?????????
