Any NY Sleevers with Emblem Health HIP?
Well I have Emblem health GHI in NY and it only took a week. Not sure if HIP would be the same but they're both under emblem health.

Food not so enjoyable
Go for it! Everyone has their own experiences. You may not go though the same thing post op. I'm still proud of my decision of having the gastric sleeve. I'm losing so much weight that I've been having a hard time getting rid of on my own and its a great feeling. So whatever you decide to do, I wish you the best on your weight loss journey!

Food not so enjoyable
Lately I've been starving for food but when I finally eat it, it's not as enjoyable as I thought it would be. I can only get in a few bites and then my pouch can't take anymore but I'm still feeling hungry....such a weird feeling and head hunger is no joke. When they say you need to be mentally prepared for this lifestyle change, You have to be mentally prepared!!! Despite all of that, I still do not regret my decision and I want everyone to stay encouraged whether you are post op, pre op or considering wls.

Question about Post-Op
4-6 weeks should be a good time to start lifting again. That's what my doctor told me. Hope this helps

Energy
When I was on my Pre-op liquid diet I used to get weak and light headed. I found that when I increased my protein intake, I felt better. Another scoop of protein for my shakes. Hope this helps!

May surgery and surgeon has me second guessing the sleeve
I think you should talk to another surgeon. Some doctors just really think about themselves other than their patients. Sometimes it's all about the money. The gastric bypass cost more than the sleeve so maybe he's thinking of dollar signs. I understand that the sleeve wouldn't be right for you IF you have existing acid reflux disease because it can worsen your condition. However, if you don't have acid reflux right now then there should be no reason why you shouldn't have the sleeve. Sure patients lose more weight with the gastric bypass but it's very risky and has a higher complication rate. So I say if you feel comfortable getting the sleeve, go for it!!!

Sensitive to scents
I'm 2 days post op and I've noticed that certain things that I used to smell everyday is making me sick to my stomach. Has anyone else experience this?

1 day post op
I tried walking a lot and when I do walk, I start feeling nauseous. I'm gonna try the gas x strips to see if that helps out.

I got a date!!!!
Today I went to see my surgeon and nutritionist and I got a date for surgery!!! 3/28/17 I'm super excited! I just need the insurance to approve it before then. I don't see why they wouldn't because I gave in everything that was required. Anyone else getting sleeved on 3/28/17?? [emoji2] [emoji2] [emoji2]

Got my clearance!!!!
A few weeks ago I shared with everyone that my doctor wouldn't clear me because I had an upper respiratory infection. I am super excited to say that I've now gotten my surgery clearance. I'm super excited!!! The next step is a visit to my surgeon so that I can get a surgery date. I'm hoping for the end of March but I'll take April if that's what's available for me! So thankful

Support
I am going through the same thing... my family doesn't know that I'm going to have the gastric sleeve because they are very judgmental so I am going through this journey alone. I have a few friends that had the procedure done so they are the only ones that know about it. I'd say, continue to get support from the ppl here or create a YouTube page about your journey....you'd be surprised of how much support you'll get from others!
