  1. Thank you!!! How did your surgery go?? Mine went very well and today I'm feeling better than ever!! How are you feeling? Wishing you a speedy recovery my friend!! [emoji1419]

My stomach is still sore a little bit. I'm trying to get my fluids down. Everyday is a little bit better. I had my gall bladder out in 2006, so this is familiar with my stomach. That took me about 7 days to feel normal again.

  3. I was vacuuming earlier in the day and had a sharp pain in my left side near one of the incisions now when I'm sitting it hurts.. has anyone else pulled a muscle or anything after the surgery?

My surgeon has said no vacuuming for 3 weeks. It was specific. Something about the movement. He recommends only light housework and no lifting of anything over 10 lbs.

  4. We are getting sleeved on the same day! Nice to meet you, sleeve buddy! :-) I'm having some difficulty dealing with the pre-op diet, as I have to cook for others in my family. Cravings are strong, today is day 4 for me! How are you doing?

My surgery is also in the 12th. It will be here before you know it! The first few days of the pre-op diet I like to refer to as my "detox". It was bad with headaches which caused me to vomit and so hungry . But after a few days I felt human again and it has gotten easier. Good luck everybody!

That's a good one. Where was your "cyst" located? I'm going to be out for surgery and I work in a small office in a southern town where everybody needs to know everybody's business. I have a three people who know and support me. But everyone is going to be asking why I was off for a week. You gotta love small southern towns!

  6. I am planning on not telling people that I work with that I am having surgery. There are just too many people in my office who are judgemental and likes to give their opinions whether you want them or not. Plus, i don't think i wamt to start out with all eyes on me. The only ones who know is my boss's and supervisor. I was wondering if anyone else had the same or similar situation and how you explained your absence and everything to those who asked?

  7. Did they have you take a nicotine/tobacco lab test?

No, BCBS said that my doctors office could just write a letter stating that I haven't smoked in the last 8 weeks. Nothing in my records stated I was a smoker, which I'm not, but nothing stated I wasn't. The nurse who handles all the paperwork has been out for the last 2 weeks, she will be back on Mondaubto resubmit my paperwork.

  8. Apparently I was denied because there is no proof in my medical records that o haven't smoked in at least 8 weeks. Well, maybe that's because I haven't smoked in 9 years. I hate having to wait until tomorrow to get to the bottom of this one.

  9. My surgeons office nurse is recommending a letter from my physician to submit to my insurance company since I haven't been on my blood pressure medicine long enough. I have to think my physician will do this because what doctor would prevent you from being a healthier you. But my fear is he will want me to try their weight loss program in their office. I did look into it last year but I knew right off it wouldn't work for me because it requires weekly visits and their office is in another town so distance and time was an issue. I don't see him until the 20th so in the meantime my mind is going in all sorts of directions. Patience has never been my strong suit when I know there is something I want.

  10. So, I have my 1stappointment with the surgeon today. I went to his seminar on Tuesday, the nurse called me yesterday to schedule my office visit. She informed me regarding my insurance that because I have not been on my blood pressure medicine but a year she would recommend getting a letter from my physician but I've only been with a pcp for the last year. That was a no go so far. But she also said to provide pictures of myself from 2014 and 2015 that are dated. Check. And I also went to my obgyn and got a copy of my medical records for those two years which shows my weight and BMI. I hope this is enough. Guess we will soon find out.

  11. I am new on here and I have recently decided to have sleeve surgery.

I am covered through Local Government BCBS in AL. When I called they said I didn't have to be pre-approved but it had to be deemed a medical necessity. There would not be a wait time on their end. Has anyone been told this before?

My next step is to go to the seminar (2/07) before I make an appointment with my surgeon. I figured I won't know for sure about the insurance until I see the surgeon.
