    Had my surgery on wed

how are you feeling now that its almost a week ? could ylu go to work if you had a desm job?
  2. So my surgery has been scheduled at a major Boston for Mar 3. I'm excited but wonder about insurance. They handle the insurance but I am not sure if has even been submitted yet. I have had all my visits with psyche, nutrition, etc. The only thing i have left is an endoscopy next week. If they already scheduled me am I to assume they do not think there will be an issue? I have a BMI of 40 and no sleep apnea or anything else. I just didn't realize I could be denied? I have two health insurance plans.

    Bad news

Just because your BMI is 39 doesn't mean that you don't deserve a tool that will ultimately help you achieve optimal health. My BMi is 40 and is my highest ever now due to a broken ankle last year. Actually that is what made me think surgery when in the past I'd been against it. I love the gym and worked my butt off last JAnuary and ate no processed foods , stayed below 25 g of carbs and at an average of 1200 calories a day. It took me 5 months to lose 25 lbs and I felt good then Broke my ankle and BAM up 30 lbs. I looked at the last ten years of my life and realized its a constant battle and I've spent countless hours, money, effort and I'm heavier then I have ever been. Do what you have to do to be the 40 BMI so you can get the tool you need to succeed. I realize insurance companies need a cutoff but obese is obese and at 39 BMI vs 40 we have the same issues and just want to see results when we put in the work.
  4. I 'm only telling my family and one truly supportive friend. When Ive discussed this with friends before I was discouraged by the negative feedback. Another friend of mine who had WLS and has had amazing results told me that people act really strange. The most negative comments come from friends who are also big and have chosen not to have surgery because they are afraid of it or they don't want to change their lifestyle. Even when I was strict on my diet and was eating clean and no alcohol I had friends who made remarks like oh call me when you can have fun again. I realized that people don't want you to change from the role you play in their lives. If you are the fun one and always available when they want to go out and have fun, they are afraid that will change. I have no problem socializing with people without drinking and I can still have fun. I think it makes people uncomfortable when I'm not drinking and eating bad food and they are because of their own issues. Your true friends will be supportive. For some it just might take a while to realize that you are still you.

    Any March 1st sleevers?

I am March 3. I was supposed to be Feb 21 but ended up needing a hysterectomy three weeks ago so they postponed. I went back last week and was pleasantly surprised that he said March 3 so I only lost about two weeks,

How are you feeling? Do you feel weak or fine? Just wondering how you feeling a week out. Could you go to work?
  7. Wondering if anyone had sleeve surgery following another major surgery. I was scheduled for the sleeve in February but had to have a hysterectomy due to a suspicious fibroid which thank god ended up not being cancer. My sleeve was rescheduled and it will be 8 weeks between surgeries. I know its going to be hard but I'm ready for this. Just wanted to know if anyone else who had close surgeries could ease my fear a little.
