I am 14 days post op and feel great!!!
    Starting soft foods today.
I am so glad I had this surgery.
It was not as bad as I was so scared it would be.
I faithfully did a lot of walking which works for gas pain.
I am now going to gym on treadmill and elliptical which I was cleared to do.
    Just no lifting yet.
    Iam losing weight very well.
I had no vomiting. I told anesthesiologist to give me something for that and he did.
Dr. Told me to bring Gas X strips to hospital and I did. They work good.
I had all that fear for nothing.
I am taking one day at a time.

transform2017 got a reaction from Please in 3 days Post op sleeve
Just wanted to introduce myself and be a part of the support group. I was sleeved Friday 3/10/17 and now 3 days Post-op. I haven't lost any weight yet, hoping it's because of inflammation or Water retention or something.
Looking forward to sharing my journey.

I'm six days out from being sleeved, and yesterday I thought I was going to have to go to the ER from dehydration. You MUST do this - let the Protein go if you have to (you won't absorb the protein anyway if you're dehydrated). One suggestion in addition to the popsicles (SF of course) is the low-fat, low-sodium chicken broth - I actually find that causes me to RETAIN fulid (despite being low-sodium), which is a good thing in this case. Keep a piece of paper handy and tally your ounces, so you can track your progress during the day. Get a shot glass (2 oz) and keep taking shots every 15 minutes. Mix it up with Crystal Light. You have to do this or you will be in the ER. Good luck.

Sipping through a straw causes ulcers?
    WTF? How?
And for the record, people choose gastric sleeve surgery for a variety of reasons. Seldom is the decision about which bariatric surgery to have based on their desire to ensure they can keep eating junk food.
@@Ele marie -- you assume a lot about WLS and WLS patients that simply isn't true.

    First and foremost.

If you had SLEEVE surgery, you do not have a pouch. Gastric Bypass patients have pouches.
    Second.

If you had SLEEVE surgery, neither liquid nor air will stretch your remaining stomach. In fact, you should have so little fundus left, there really is nothing left to stretch unless your surgeon left a lot of fundus behind when he did the surgery. Even if you are a bypass patient, I can't imagine liquid (or air) would stretch it, but I know very little about bypass.

Most likely, you kicked up your carb cravings by consuming sugar. When I indulge in carbs, I am much more hungry later in the day and the next day. When I stick to my Protein and lay off the carbs, it's easier to control my hunger.

So no, an icee won't stretch whatever you have, but it does wreak havoc on your blood levels.

I had the same issue but around the 3rd week. I was down 25lbs, and my BP dropped quickly. With my medication, my BP was typically around 132/88. When went to have it checked, it was 107/71. My doctor adjusted my prescription, and things have been fine. I'm hoping to get off the medication completely

Thanks guys! Had 1st BM today and noticed that I weighed a couple of pounds less. Think I'll just stay off the scale for another week or so. Feeling pretty good 5 days Post-op, other than the gas (wearing these Gas-X strips out). Actually, I already feel a little better than I did pre-surgury or maybe it's the Lortab elixir. Either way, so far vsg is one of the best decisions I've ever made. 😊
