  1. hi there, I am an Aussie living abroad and would love to join your FB group if that is ok as I speak more in kgs etc ;-) But if I join the group will it show up on others feeds that I joined? I haven't shared my journey yet with anyone and don't want it out of the bag because of joining a group or commenting on etc. thanks

Yes please :) JOIN US :) xoxox No it will

Not show up on the feed as it is a closed and private group :)

Add me on Facebook and I can invite you to the group.

  2. OK so my name Jeanette Warth and I'm pretty sure there is only one so if you send me a friend request I can then create the group and I'll post a link to it. I'll make it private but I saw there is also a secret one ;)

There's no Jeanette Wrath.... We've looked and think that we added the wrong one :/

  3. ...

Is any of you two on FB? Maybe I could set up a group to keep in touch and keep each other accountable. And any other awesome aussies who may want to join. In Hobart there is not much after care support :-(

Yes I'm on FB. Under Piri Nola. I started it just for weight loss chat and support. I want to keep my main on separate from it because of mean and negative feedback. Add me :)

  4. Hi Banded Becks am in Sydney. Where you?

Each day getting better. Yesterday I had two shakes, about another half litre of Water and a cup of ginger tea, plus a 30 minute walk. Lots of sleep too. Middle feels a bit uncomfortable sometimes but I am pleased to be off the meds.

Am going to try for 50g Protein today and 2L Water, plus a walk.

Have been making lists of all the yummy small Protein rich puréed meals I can move onto once past this full liquid stage.

Have found a couple of great blogs - the world according to eggface and gastricsleeve4me which have helped pass the time.

Have booked hairdressers for highlights this arvo. Think it will be a great treat. I will sit and relax and drink peppermint tea

Have a good day everyone. Hope the post surgeryites are getting better. Every day is a bit easier.

    Hi Meg :)

I loved reading your message :)

So organised. I get my sleeve on the 18th of feb and I'm so excited. I am totally ready.

I think it's a great idea to make a list of the meals. I'm going to do that too. :)

I'm in Sydney :). I'm glad there are other Aussies here. It felt as though it was absolute American.

Yay go the Aussies :) xox

  5. Hi there guys!

I'm here to announce I'm finally getting to see my surgeon on 17th of Jan 2017 in Sydney Nepean private hospital. You can't even imagine how crazy excited I am!!! My mind so freaked out! I have so many questions running around in my head hehe. Is there anyone who could help me to calm down and answer at least some of them? Thanks all and happy holidays! xoxo

  6. I need to let my husband read this thread, I think this will help him understand.

In my opinion, unless you walked in "our shoes" that lead us down this path, you'll never truly understand.

Correct. Non big people have no idea. Then when you go to a dietician or a psychologist that's NEVER BEEN FAT and they try to tell you they understand. No. They do not understand.

  7. I'm getting ready to have mine next week, I told 6 people. I made it very clear they are to respect my privacy, because of the negative comments that people would say. Don't need judgmental comments when your trying to make a significant change.

    .

My goodness I feel the same. I have only told my father and my mother and one other friend that is a doctor.

Everyone else can get bent. I seriously

Don't trust anyone. So many people that you think are close you you can turn on you in a second. I know it sounds negative, but I'm not a negative person. It's reality. Being this big for me has really taught me some valuable lessons about the human condition.

  8. I get my surgery in 3 weeks. I have always hurt so deeply when I have had to travel. The looks. The comments. Once I had to be moved seats because they wouldn't let someone of my size sit near the emergency exit. I got that seat because they have more room. I was told to move to the back of the plane because it's not allowed to have a seatbelt extender when sitting near an exit door. It hurt. The hostess said it so loud and everyone heard it. Everyone on the plane watched me move to the back. It was horrible.

I think I will cry when I no longer need a seatbelt extender. I will cry tears of joy and pure emotion.

  9. I was wondering the same thing. Because I haven't even had my surgery yet and I'm dying of yawning. I'm on my pre op. I'm getting sleeves in three weeks. I was seriously thinking of putting pre workout in all my drinks.

However, I read and was also told by my doctor that high caffeine is a no no during the first 3 months due to dehydration. Caffeine is extremely dehydrating. This is something I will talk about with the nutritionist I'm seeing the week before my surgery. I'm taking in all my supplements and photos of all my stuff at home. I want to know what I can and cannot take when I get back to gym and real life after recovery mode. As soon as I find out I'll put it up.
