I stay HORNY all the time!

Yep, a lot of hormones are stored in fat. As you lose, there it is. Once you are down to your goal weight if you feel a significant drop though I would ask my doc to check my levels, don't want to go from awesome to depressed. Sent from my Nexus 6P using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. I lost a lot of muscle since the surgery so I started back with Stronglifts. It's a pretty basic strength program and they have an app to track your workout. I do that MWF and go to boxing Tues and Thurs. I take weekends off. Also, when you start with the weights don't be surprised about a small weight gain. Like a pound or too. What all changes?

Definitely be careful regarding the coping mechanisms. Especially with alcohol. I have several people at my job who have had the procedure and spouses/relatives that had the procedure. Several of them (like 30% which is a crazy rate) became serious alcoholics. I can only think this was a new way to self medicate. Sent from my Nexus 6P using BariatricPal mobile app

Is It True What They Say???

Fair enough, I have encountered the wetness issue myself. I guess I just chalk it up to "people are different". A person definitely has the right to decide what they can and can't deal with. It's like the height thing. I've had friends who've been treated pretty badly for being short, but this seems to be societally acceptable. I too feel it's unfair and got genetically lucky in that regard, but I try to tell them that people are entitled to like what they like. Sent from my Nexus 6P using BariatricPal mobile app

Is It True What They Say???

I also can, which is why I put that in the original post. My question was why should he have some sort of disclaimer attached to his dating? You discovered something you couldn't overlook so you moved on. But to say he should just go on dates like, "hold up, before dessert you should know I have a little d**k" wtf? I don't expect women to say "oh yeah, I'm super loose so don't expect any friction." Sent from my Nexus 6P using BariatricPal mobile app

    The Science of Attraction

I wouldn't say it went well, but what can you do, lol. The waitress was really sweet though and I think her look of disdain helped my case, lololol. I see people settling for ridiculous treatment just to not be alone (men and women). Is being by yourself so bad? I don't need other people to entertain me. I would say being comfortable in your own skin is probably attractive. If you can be happy with yourself, I think it shows. Sent from my Nexus 6P using BariatricPal mobile app

Is It True What They Say???

I'm not sure I follow? I've dated women who would be considered "false advertising" and they didn't think to mention that they were really a small a cup with MAJOR padding and creative fashion. I accepted the person as they were. I understand that you couldn't, but I don't follow the logic? Sent from my Nexus 6P using BariatricPal mobile app

    The Science of Attraction

I would say you have to have an idea of what you really want and what is important to you. Doesn't matter your size or whatever. Be treated the way you want to be treated or love on. I had a date arrive 45 mins late, no text, no apology on arrival. I was only still there because I had invited her to a restaurant I wanted to try. I had already ordered my food and was eating, almost done actually. She seemed surprised that I had ordered, but didn't say anything. She asked if she should order. I explained that the food was very good and that she should definitely try something. When the waitress came back, I asked for my check. My "date" asked what I was doing. I explained that I was finished and that I was going. This started a whole thing, which never involved an actual apology for not only being late, but not calling. Eventually she slipped up and said what was REALLY bothering her. I wasn't paying for the meal. LOL. Don't let anyone mistreat you. Don't let them act like their presence is somehow doing you a favor. We're spending time together. And what I don't have time for is games. I've seen too many people (women unfortunately as that would be what I would be encountering) use these dating sites for free meals, nights out. Never even interested in the guy at all. The flip side is I'm sure that a lot of women get passed over for superficial reasons also. Sent from my Nexus 6P using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. From my heaviest to my goal weight (which is actually lower than the Dr.'s figure - they give you a goal of 75% of the with you have to lose) is about 410lbs. I'm down about 250 now. So I still have about 160 to lose. I'll still be a large man so some things won't change. I look for small victories, like tying my shoes without getting winded (like at my heaviest). I go to a boxing gym twice a week and the trainer offered some additional tips and techniques since "I'm moving much more fluid and faster." These things add up I promise. Even the negatives I look at as goal posts along the way. Everyone has been super supportive at my job accept for one lady, she just started ignoring me, couldn't tell you why, but it started once the weight started coming off. Just another sign, times they are a changing. Don't give up before you really get to see what you may have been missing. Even driving car is more comfortable, lolol. I'm looking at getting a two seater for the first time ever! Sent from my Nexus 6P using BariatricPal mobile app

    Sips

I never had the pain either. I did focus on sipping, just out of paranoia, lol. I can drink pretty regular now. I had my sleeve at the end of January. Sent from my Nexus 6P using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. Hello everyone! I just had my operation on Monday, the 23rd. I found this forum and thought I would share a bit of my history. I learned how out of control my weight had become by accident. My little brother used to save all our cans and recycling so he could offset his allowance. You go to the plant and they weigh your car before and after. You get paid the difference. We unload and go to weigh out. I wanted to grab the receipt from the clerk so I had to step out. The scale dropped massively. The clerk (and myself) were shocked. I had made it up to approx 650lbs. I dropped my brother back off at home and I realized I had to make some changes. Over the years I managed to get down to about 510. I stalled there for a couple years so I decided to opt for the surgery. I got down to 470 as of the date of the surgery. Pain was pretty high, just today getting up easier. Looking forward to getting back into the gym and boxing again. My goal weight is (just an idea in my head, no science) is about 230. Looking forward forward to seeing what the thinner me is like. Good luck to everyone in their progress also! Sent from my Nexus 6P using the BariatricPal App

398 as of today! Next, under 300!!!
  19. Not so sure about that. One of my exes did everything possible to sabotage my progress. From going crazy jealous to deliberately buying bad food to throw me off my plan. Last straw was a deep fryer I got for Xmas.

    Next Step

Couple of new items! First, I'm now down to 402lbs. Can't wait to break into the 300's. Secondly, on my continuing car quest, lol. I went by some dealerships to see what my options were. I now fit in quite a few cars I would have walked right by. Toyota 86 370z Still wondering about that Corvette though. Lol.

    Exercise before surgery

I had started boxing. It actually helped me maintain the weight loss I had been able to accomplish, but my eating wouldn't let me fully succeed. I've been doing some cardio and weights since the surgery, but I can't wait to find a good boxing gym again (location chamge, so I'm not near the old one anymore). I liked the learning (vs hamstering on a treadmill) and man it will wear you out!

As of today, I'm down to 410, that's 100lbs from when I started on the surgery plan! More progress left, but it's nice to be making a dent, lol.
  23. I just got out of a relationship earlier this year. The surgery was a factor I believe. She would always bring up how many people fail and was generally not supportive. As I got closer and was hitting goals it got worse. Not being married, I just decided to get out. Too much to look forward to. Not looking at you. I'm looking past you...
  24. Good for you. People like that need you to fail, because they have their self worth wrapped up in thinking they're better than you. I had someone recently tell me that they wouldn't get the surgery because they were strong enough to do it themselves. I just asked, when they were going to quit smoking and get started?
