  1. I was sleeved 1/6 and i too was petrified of a leak. You need both Water and Protein. The reality is get in as much as you can of both plus broth in small sips the first week. It was very difficult to drink and i just didnt want anything at all but like Rick said do the math it helps. I made a chart for both fluids n meds, worked great. I put 16oz bottles in the fridge and marked them half way so i could drink half every hour. Replace some with warm tea also. The first week i could only do 24oz, i now do 48oz. Pace yourself, take some GAS X also to eliminate the gas n you'll see u can get alot more fluids in as the days pass n swelling goes down. Turning point for me was about day7-8 post op. It gets better, walk, get ur Water, Protein and fiber/stool softeners in and you'll be ok. Good luck.

  2. I started taking it 3-4 months preoperatively and am still taking it 4 months postoperatively. IDK if it's fake science that it works or doesn't work, but figured one mega bottle from BJs was a small price to pay if it DID work, so have been taking it now seven months.

I can only speak for myself, but I have very nice, thick hair, and am at the point most people experience Hair loss from the trauma of surgery and weight loss, and I feel my hair is just as good as before surgery, if not better. My hairdresser just commented on how healthy and shiny it is Friday, and she doesn't know I had surgery. I just asked if there was breakage/thinning or any issues she saw.

So, FWIW, what's a $15 bottle of Biotin if it helped me? I pissed that money away on nonsense in the past, so if it helps; great. If not, no big deal. It's just one more Vitamin I add to my daily regimen, hardly a hard thing to implement.

    What is BJs?

  3. My nutritionist has me on Probiotics (to help the stomach post-op), Calcium 3x a day, and B12 (but I take a B complex pill for the other benefits). I've also been taking a Multivitamin, Vitamin C, and extra Biotin as well, to help counter (maybe) the hair loss. The last bit I've been taking since November, but the NUT recommendation has been since mid-January (probiotics were recommended to start as early as possible, but I only got my hands on some a couple weeks ago). My surgery is Feb. 9th. I have to say, that since I started taking the Vitamins, I feel so much better and more energetic.

What specific Vitamins may I ask?
