Hey everybody, I seen the dietician and I also had my physical I have to go for another blood test though But the ball is finally rolling and Im getting more excited.. I am having that sleep study done aswell just waiting on the letter to give me the go ahead.. I see Dr peter nottle again next month on the 3rd fee could you tell me why I have to see him again? Is it to just go over everything?

Hi fee, Hope your well Yes things are moving along now, Im getting more excited lol. I have recently been told by a friend who had the lapband done just recently that she only had to wait 2 months on the waiting list Me and my friend were both referred by the same dr but in my referal Im pretty sure it said that I wanted to undergo lapband surgery and her one said bariatric so I thought they were two different things lol.. When you had the surgery did you have a drainage tube? Just asking because I had one of them put in place when I had my gallbladder removed, And I am not to sure if they do that with all stomach surgery? Hope everything is going well for you

Hi Fee and everybody else hope you are all doing well.. I have not posted for a couple of weeks so I thought I would get on and see whats new.. I finally have an appointment with Dr Tran after being left on the phone for 45 minutes because the receptionist forgot about me LOL I see him on the 18th of this month and see the dietician on the 20th of this month.. My best friend went and got herself a referral yesterday and I am not to sure if she is getting the lapband also? Her surgery is called Biatric? Is that the same as a lapband? Or is it a different procedure all together? Any information on this would be great Again I hope you are all doing well

Excellent thanks for all the info.. Im also going to see Dr.Hoan Tran My general GP gave me a blood test to take to Dr Nottle along with my refferal letter.. So I hope that one sticks lol Ive had my gallbladder taken out and was fine under the anestitic (mind my spelling) Did you see the dietician at Dr Nottles office? I have a Health care card as I only do part time work I havent been advised how much this will cost me.. Im not to sure if medicare covers the actual operation or not?? I know to see the dietician cost 80 dollars but am unsure of the actual operation so any information would be great

Hi fee Dr nottle has put me on a waiting list for both Werribee and Williamstown hospital so which ever one comes up first..Did you have to go for a physical before you had the operation? I have to book my appointment to see one.. Not exactly sure what they are going to do, A heads up would be great Is it just to take my blood pressure ect?? Ive never had to have a physical before

I have recently been put on the waiting list for lap band surgery :banana I am looking at max 6 months wait time. Im so excited yet very nervous at the same time as I dont really know what to expect.. I am in the process of doing all my homework on lap band surgery.. And about to read through all the threads... But anyone with any advice or comments or storys they would like to share please feel free to do so.. Let it be the good or the bad.. But to start a new thread when you first click into introductions to the right it says how many pages there are and to the left is a tab that says post new thread just click on that If I confused you im sorry Im still yet to learn how things work on this forum.. Hi again chichigirl Ive already checked out the Before and Afters it is trully amazing and as you said very inspiring.. Im getting so impatient now after seeing these threads lol.. But I will stick with the saying good things come to those that wait.. Thanks for your suggestion I will see how I go with the whole needle thing I might see if I can take some form of relaxer I have to go for a pysical soon to see if I am fit enough for the procedure ? Not to sure what they want me to do lol I have never been for one before but Im guessing I should wear comfortable clothes and runners?

I dont think its the actual pain that scares me its the look of the needle LOL Im a sook the drs still give me lollypops after having a needle LMAO I think its just something I need to prepare for and get use to.. I will have a talk with my surgeon on my next appointment.. He is meant to be one of the best here apparently he is the one who bought the lap band over to Australia..So fingers crossed he is good at giving needles to lol.. I was given a book to read by my surgeon with alot of information but I dont think anything can beat the words of those that have experinced it. Thanks jack for replying its greatley appreciated

Hi there Iluvharleys..Ohhh I have been on since 11 pm and it is now 7:30 am I am definatley taking the time to read up on everything There is so much information on here it is excellent. I cant believe I have sat here for over 8 hours reading all this lol... I am still to find a topic about the needle which fills the port? I hope I said that right.. I have a huge fear of needles and am wanting to prepare myself for that so any advice on that would be great...Eg: Big needle, Pain, Depth ect.... Thanks heaps for the welcome and I am glad to be here

Dylansmom thank you for posting this thread.. This is perfect for someone like me who is waiting to undergo the surgery( on waiting list).. I am in the very early process and have an appointment on the 20th of january with a dietician so this kinda gives me some idea of what my eating habbits will be like after I have had the surgery Thanks again

Awww thanks heaps for your post chichigirl.. I will be asking many questions as time goes by. I want to know all the cons and pro's of this surgery.. I have already read through some threads and have been quite suprised, Some are a little scary and have been a real eye opener.. But then reading through people's progress and their life change is amazing. I cant wait to share that with others..Thanks for the information and thank you for taking the time to respond to me...
