  1. I've done the Unjury unflavored with Crystal Light lemonade and it was not too bad. Then I tried it with Powerade Zero Mountain Berry and it was awful. The lemonade taste did a better job of overpowering the powder.
  2. My center had two options - one for those with a BMI over 50 and one for BMI between 40-50. I'm on day 6 of the second option right now, which is 2 protein shakes + 2 meals (60% proteins/40% non-starchy veggies) and you can throw in sugar-free popsicles, sugar-free jello and broth as well. I've found that after doing a shake for breakfast and lunch, and getting in at least 100 oz. of water for the day that I am only doing one meal. My calorie count has been between 575-1000 each day, and I'm down 13.4 pounds and feeling pretty dang good.

    How long was your process?

I attended an informational seminar presented by my surgeon back in December, and then waited for my company to switch insurance providers on 1/1 to a new plan that covers the procedure. As soon as that happened, I scheduled my initial surgical consult (took place on 1/21) and then began my three-month pre-op diet & exercise appointments. During that time I visited my PCP, cardiologist and did the psych eval. Those just wrapped up on 4/28, the coordinator submitted all of my paperwork and I was approved by insurance on 5/4. I am waiting to hear from the surgical nurse to schedule my surgery, and then I'll know when my pre-op class and diet will begin! I'm hoping to get a surgery date later this month or in early June.

    Cigna

I wrapped up my 3-month pre-op program last Friday, and got the call from my coordinator that Cigna approved my paperwork yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised that things moved that quickly. Hopefully you get good news soon!

    June sleeve buddies?

I'm hoping to be a June sleever! I just got the news this morning that my insurance approval came through, and now I'm waiting on a call from my surgeon's nurse to schedule my pre-op class & surgery dates!
  10. Besides my wife, I've only told my boss so far - at the beginning of the process I felt it best to give him a heads up as to why I would be running out of the office for appointments frequently and needing to take recovery time off. I just wrapped up my pre-op visits and have submitted to insurance, so I plan on telling my immediate family once I am approved and scheduled. I'll tackle any other discussions with co-workers & friends after the fact; hopefully a while down the road I'll just have to explain to them why I look so damn good.

    "Newbie" status

Hello all! Another newbie here. I had my first meeting with the surgeon on Jan. 20, this week wrapped up my PCP and cardiologist clearance. Tomorrow I have my first group meeting with the dietitian and exercise physiologist, looking forward to getting everything going in that department. I have a 3-month pre-surgery program for my insurance (Cigna), so I am hoping to have surgery in late May or June!
