  1. I joined and then got nervous about posts being seen and unjoined. I checked and double checked my settings but I just got nervous that it would show up in someones side panel thing on FB (I get on my computer but not on the phone or laptop strangely enough) . I guess that speaks volumes as the way I am feeling right now. In order for me to have my Op I have to have a unit of A neg on standby. So the process here in Oman is that you have to find someone to donate on your behalf and they mark that unit against your name in that you have "deposited", it doesn't mean you get it but its like a bank deposit withdrawal system. So I have to ask someone to donate for me. BUT I have to find someone A neg. I really don't want to lie to anyone but I just didn't want to actually say I was having the surgery so now I am in a spot. But I will come on here and chat ;-)

Yes please :) JOIN US :) xoxox No it will

Not show up on the feed as it is a closed and private group :)

Add me on Facebook and I can invite you to the group.

    Xox hugs.

Are you an Aussie living in Oman? That would be interesting! No need to worry it is a closed group and won't show on your feed but I understand your desire to keep it private. It's no one else's business. If you need to explain, just say that you have to have an operation on your stomach and when they ask just say it's nothing serious. I know other people say they are having a hernia operation because often that is repaired at the same time.

  2. @erica_ozzy73--- that too is one of my fears... that I'll still be mentally hungry after going through all this.

I listened to an audiobook Ultimate Gastric Sleeve Success. It was a little preachy but he says a lot.. "If you don't change your behaviours you'll get the same results you always have".

I am not busy trying to list all the behaviours that have gotten me to this point because I'm not going through all of this for it to fail!

  3. Hi

I thought I posted earlier but can't seem to find it so I must have stuffed up (apologies if it is showing on yours twice). I am 53 and am booked in for 29th February (when insurance kicks in). I've been waiting nearly a year for this but now it is only a month away I'm starting to get a little anxious about it all.

@steph56. Good luck. Don't the say nurses make the worst patients ;) Have you started the preop diet? The thought of drinking shakes for two weeks and then after as well makes me want to heave.

The doctors all seem to follow a different food regime after surgery. I'm worried about a) hair loss as I understand it is inevitable even though I know it grows back B) getting enough Protein in c) drinking enough fluids without the aid of a straw d) dealing with the short term <6 months and e) dealing with the long term when the hunger returns.

I watched one video by a specialist which talks about how the first year is your body influencing the weight loss but then after 3 years it is half body and half environment (ie me) and after 10 years it is mainly environment that influences your weight the most. That scares me a little.

I have also been doing soul searching on what got me to this point in the first place so I don't replicate that.... you know what the say, if you keep doing the same thing you're going to get the same results and I really really don't want that.
