2.5 years, I'd think you could eat pretty much anything. Are you at goal?
My favorite thing to make is chili with ground beef or turkey, beans, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, and seasoning.
My second favorite is Salmon (cooked on a skillet with a bit of seasoning) and butternut squash

Technically he COULD eat a low carb diet. Problem is he would refuse. He has gotten to the point where he can only lay in bed, go to the toilet (half the time falling on the way there), go to his chair in the living room, and MAYBE make himself a cup of coffee with the Keurig. That's as good as it gets.
He's enjoying his cookies and sweets, and at this point, there is no POINT in trying to make him healthier.. he has moved beyond the point of no return, where he is stuck with a mind that wants to go fishing and hunting and to baseball games, but a body that can't take a step out of the front door without help. Last time he went fishing, he tried to do too much and fell into the pond (my 11 year old had to run and save him.. it was only knee deep, thank goodness). Last time he tried to make the car trip to go to a baseball game, he had a stroke on the way there. His dementia comes and goes.. sometimes he hasn't a clue what is going on (walking into walls because he doesn't understand how walls work), and others he's pretty lucid and can carry on a conversation.
Put it this way, if I ever get to that point, please push me off a cliff.
So, he eats his cookies, takes his insulin and 25 medications, and we change his diaper and pick him up off the floor a few times a week. Good times...
5 years ago (when we moved in together), he was still able to go DO things he enjoyed. At the time I had the conversation with his wife.. we could strictly control his diet and try to get him as healthy as possible.. or he could "die" with a doughnut in his mouth. She chose doughnut. They'd been married for 50 years, he had always chosen doughnuts.. so why change?
And here we are now.. all I can hope is the doughnuts push him off the deep end sooner, rather than later.
(I should be clear. It is not I that buys the doughnuts.. his wife does that just fine . I have just stopped trying to fight it).

Berry78 got a reaction from Meryline in Went to a Christmas party yesterday. Annual event for the employees and families of m
I was right about Aunt Flo coming for a visit, so can expect a stall for 5 days, then MAYBE I'll see Onederland! Lol! It was like a cosmic joke. See 200.00 one day, then it bounces back up a couple pounds for a week, works back down to 200.00 AGAIN, then my period. BLECH!!!
Meryline, you are doing so amazing! 200g is nothing! Bet you'll see the new # tomorrow!
As a kid, I steadily gained weight until I was 215lbs at 17 years old. As an adult, I had a 5 year period (18-23 years old) when I was under 200lbs. Not sure that I ever believed I could/would get back there again. Maybe this stall is a way of letting my mind catch up a bit with the scale.

Girl, you are winning our little "competition". I have gained and lost what I had lost, and now back to the lowest point. I'm 200g from seeing a new number. I do kg, so for me to see 6x.x is huge, I don't remember the last time that was. Maybe 20-25 years ago. You are doing awesome.

Berry78 got a reaction from FluffyChix in Hello everyone, I am 8 months out. I work for a doctor's office. My only real concern
It would be helpful if you would give an idea of what you are eating, and how much exercise. You have lost an extraordinary amount of weight to this point, so based on that, I'm inclined to believe your CNP is potentially on the right track. We have a tough job, limiting calories, while getting the nutrition we need to keep our health up.
What does a typical day look like for you?

Ugh and so sorry the scale is missile locked on 200 even. I'd forgotten you were pushing for 199 and of course that makes total sense!!! ((hugs))

Well, I was actually looking for ONE ninety nine.. but, you know.. 200 is awesome too.. lol!
No my hubby isn't particularly demonstrative when it comes to the scale. I don't mention my actual # too much because he's also trying to lose, but stalls out more often and I don't want to rub anything in...
So, we celebrate his losses, and mine just happen quietly. I celebrate with the credit card at the clothing store (and HE has to pay the bill) Lol!!

Berry78 got a reaction from GreenTealael in Anyone attempting the vegetarian / vegan lifestyle after WLS? I was a vegetarian prio
Vegetarian isn't too hard since you can have whey protein shakes, eggs, dairy. Veganism is much harder since the vegan-friendly shakes are less palatable and you have to be extra cautious about getting complete proteins.

Dang! I don't feel so bad about forking over $5k to go to Mexico (without all the hoops). Not sure what my out of pocket would have been with insurance... (the 2-3 year wait put me off that plan.)
Good news is you'll know you are healthy!

Sorry you have to wait so long. I would however ask if there is a waiting list in case someone has to drop out once you have all your requirements and are cleared for surgery. My original date was April 18th, but I asked to be on the waiting list and got moved up to March 20th. I went from having 6 weeks to go to only have 13 days. And now I'm lucky to be surgery twin with the lovely @Berry78

Thanks. It's on @Berry78 You might not be, but I am. I stalled for almost a month just around 160, but then a steady drop the past 2 weeks. I was expecting another stall.
But you are on! Not that I'm going to do anything different thought lol
