    Denial about my weight

8 years ago my hubby went for 4 months to army training. I lost 30lbs while he was gone, and he didn't recognise me when he got off the plane. That was great! Too bad I immediately began piling on after that... 100lbs in a year. *sigh* Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  3. @@CrowMilk the meal plan I'll be following says that I can have up to 4 ounces of juice a day. Dilute it with Water to make 8 ounces. The juice should be 100% orange, apple, grape, etc. As for lemonade, maybe put a tablespoon of straight lemon juice in a glass of water. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

  5. There is a reason it seems every Dr. has a different post-op protocol. Every one of them have made a "best guess" as to what the stomach can handle, and when. For example: If the surgeon starts with a 3 day, clear liquid recommendation, and finds patients have problems with milk on day 4, the surgeon may modify his protocol. Over time, the protocol gets refined based on experience. So, the Surgeons find that Protein consumption must resume asap, so they try protein shakes during the "clear liquid" stage, find they are tolerated, and voila! New protocol. 6. Sounds like your doctors are saying your body is still making too much insulin, and it will eventually figure out that you don't need so much. In the mean time, make sure to eat correctly. 3 Protein first meals and 1-2 Snacks. If your symptoms increase, or change again, definitely get checked out more. Keep a record of your body temperature (use a thermometer), so you can see if you ARE hot, or just feel that way. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

    WLS with five kids

From reading these boards, surgery truly isn't an "easy" way out of obesity. Your family will still see you diet and exercise, the same as without the surgery. The only real difference is after the surgery we physically couldn't eat the whole pie, ever again in one sitting... but we could eat it in a day. It will be up to us to just say no (the same as without surgery). Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

    Denial about my weight

This summer I had to sell my horse. My hubby took pictures and video of her while I was leading her around. Those glimpses of me in the footage were shocking to me... It's amazing how I just can't see myself, even while looking in the mirror! Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

    Denial about my weight

Glad it was an easily replaceable specialist. Good for you! No sense giving your business to the insensitive I see our family Dr. on Thursday to talk about weight loss surgery. Let's see just how much she wants us to stop stuffing our faces! (I need her participation for my insurance). Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

    Denial about my weight

Oh the fat shaming my poor hubby went to our family dr. And she said, "well, even if you are too hurt to exercise, you can stop stuffing your face" or something to that effect... So he feels so bad, he goes and gets a Big Mac... Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

    I heard that!

I saw an old aquaintance one day. Stopped and chatted for a moment, and at some point during the conversation, I realized she had lost a bunch of weight. What came out of my mouth was "You look good", but what went through my mind was "I hope you aren't sick with cancer or something". I haven't seen her since, so don't know what caused the weight loss. People really do get concerned about your health! If surgery is tmi, then maybe start saying you've been on a diet. Put their minds at ease. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  18. I am laughing because of the various definitions of "invasive" given. Ultimately you will want to find the Dr. you trust, and follow his/her lead. I am in the same part of my journey! Personally I don't want the band. I think the sleeve sounds good to me, but if my Dr. recommends the RYN, I would go along, as long as they have a good reason. 20. That kind of weight loss is going to require more than just exercise (unless you can walk 20 miles a day!) You need to do something like the liquid Protein preoperative diet, or something similar. Tiny amounts of lean protein and spinach.. maybe 500 cal day. The cleanse is a good idea too. What sort of dr expects someone to lose a pound a day? (Think of it that way because it can take a couple days for the body to change the hormones to begin losing weight).
