I am so frustrated with Barix clinic in Langhorne right now. I feel like they don't care about me as a patient at all! They faxed my insurance information to a wrong number at my insurance company, never called to follow up about a peer to peer review, now they've missed the window for the review, and have to appeal... Oh AND they have not called me or my insurance company AT ALL to check in. If this is the kind of care I receive BEFORE I am even a patient.... I think I am going to go somewhere else! It sucks that I have to start all over again, but this is ridiculous! -

Has anyone had Dr Bono at Barix Clinic in Langhorne? -
Anybody from the philadelphia area!
PAguy replied to TanishaP's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am in Bucks County, and I am just waiting for my Insurance approval to schedule with Dr Bono. How was your experience? Did you have to do the 2 week pre-op diet? -
So originally I was worried that I would be denied because I gained weight throughout the three months.... NOPE! I was just denied because they said my BMI was under 40 and I didn't have any comorbidities........which is 100% inaccurate! My paperwork clearly shows I have both hypertension and sleep Apnea. I mean, did they not even read the file before they denied me? Aetna is kind of a hot mess! Now I have to wait for a peer-to-peer session to be scheduled, so I can find out if I will be approved it not. Fingers crossed!

I am using Barix in Langhorne. I don't have a date yet, but hopefully I will soon.

They submitted my paperwork to Aetna on Friday, but after reading all these forums I am worried. From my 1st appointment to the last one I was up 4lbs. Nowhere did it say that I could not gain any weight during the process. Now i'm pissed off because I am for sure going to be denied, but how was I supposed to know?

That's awesome! Keep up the good work. I'm not scheduled yet, but hope to be soon. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Experiences with Phentermine?
PAguy replied to RellaBelle's topic in GLP-1 & Other Weight Loss Medications (NEW!)
I was on generic Phentermine for 2+ years. I lost about 60lbs in 8 months and then it stopped working. I started out with one pill a day and by the end of the 2 years the doctor had me up to 3 pills a day. The weight started to come back on after about 15 months and I put back on all the 60lbs I lost. I decided enough is enough and I am trying to get sleeved. I have high blood pressure and the phentermine was NOT helping that at all. -
I am happy I found this post. I am 39, 5'10 and 257. My BMI is under 40 also, but I have high blood pressure and fatty liver apparently. I am still waiting or insurance approval, so I don't have my date yet. I'm just ready to get it over with and get started on my new lifestyle. Good luck on your surgery next week and keep us posted about your progress!

Has anyone done the Aetna 3 month option? I have Aetna HMO and this is what I am required to do, but I don't quite understand it... Multidisciplinary surgical preparatory regimen: Must be at least 3 months in duration; and Family physician must specifically document that you are starting the 3-month surgical preparatory program; Occurred within the 6 months prior to surgery and Consultation with a dietician or nutritionist; and Reduced-calorie diet program supervised by dietician or nutritionist; and Exercise regimen to improve pulmonary reserve prior to surgery, supervised by exercise therapist or other qualified professional; and Behavior modification program supervised by qualified professional; and Family physician must specifically document that you have completed the 3-month surgical preparatory program. I saw my Primary care and started the 3 month program, I am also going to see a nutritionist next week. But I am confused about the rest... Do I need to see an exercise therapist too? I don't even know how to go about finding one. Also, what is the behavior modification program? Is that separate from what my primary care doctor is doing? Do I need to find this program? Why is Aetna so confusing!!!??? Ugh. Any help would be amazing!!!
