Hi momof2
So happy to hear you are doing better! I was sleeved on1/30 and am feeling wonderful!
My sleep apnea is gone , my BP went from the 150/100 to 100/60 ! Where it was 30 years ago!
I can't stress how important it is to keep up the Vitamins and hydration...
I said what I said to you because I knew that once you stopped being so open about the process people would want to know and start asking ! My mother still won't acknowledge that I've lost over 50 lbs and dropped two pants sizes!
Whatever! [emoji4] the thing is I know and am proud of myself!
Take care and all will fall into place !

I am 3 weeks post op , I was using a pillow pressed against my abdomen to get out of bed for the first 10 days ... it helped ... I didn't have a problem with clothes touching the area ... hope you improve quickly

The best outcome from being sleeved aside from weight loss is that my sleep apnea and BP issues have disappeared!

Hi, I am so excited! I had originally posted 2 weeks prior to being sleeved 1/30/17.
In August when I started this journey I weighed 233lbs and had a BMI of 41+ and had lost 30 lbs from 8/15/16 - 1/30/17.
Now 3 weeks post sleeve my BMI is 32 & have lost another 17lbs
Thankfully, I had no post op issues and I'm coming along very well. At 2 weeks post op my dr said I was losing 1 lb a day ! And I'm not hungry
At this point my scale puts me at 184 !
I couldn't be happier ! I just keep thinking that I must stay focused and it will keep me motivated!

Hi ! I was sleeved 1/30/17 , Dr had said the incision to the right of the navel would be the most tender . Having had abdominal surgery prior I knew to hold a pillow against the incision when getting in or out of bed . It helps...
If you are still concerned you should definitely call your Dr

Hi mom of 2,
Congratulations on having the strength & courage to take charge of your life !
You need to ignore all the people talking crap about you and your decision on having VSG.
I am 5'3 , was 230 lbs in Aug , BMI 40.2 I have had back& knee surgery multiple times, parents & sister are diabetic. My A1c had been creeping up but by bit also am scheduled for 1/30 & have list 30lbs since Aug.
I am divorced, 4 adult children & live alone .. I made this decision after months of research but knowing my family have opted to tell only one of my kids , the one that will support me from day one ! A few friends and other family members know I am doing this ... I chose not to say anything because I know that I don't need negativity around me right now!
Stop posting so publicly on FB , share your successes with friends that will cheer you on ! And boost you if you get down!
Stay in touch & have a healthy life !

I am a 57 yo f with chronic back pain, knee issues and fibromyalgia. I have had a total of 11 surgical procedures since I was 30 and on pain Meds everyday....I am scheduled for 1/30 & am very excited! I started this process 8/12/16 @ 230lbs ----I have lost 30 lbs since - I have 60 more to go ! Already my sleep apnea is better , diabetes which was around the corner for me is now hopefully in my rear view mirror!
Since August, when I started with just walking , I worked up to 2 miles a day , I now go to the gym 3-4 x per week
I hope to eventually discontinue pain meds or at the very least diminish dosage!

Good luck ! I'm sure you will do great! Be positive and remember that any surgical pain is only for a few days & then the magical transformation begins in earnest !

Right side pain
in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Hi , I don't know if you saw my earlier post on this subject but I will repeat it because these simple things will help .
it will be easier for you to turn over in bed , cough, sneeze or even stand up if you gently press a bed pillow to your right side (incision site) when you either roll over or try to get up ! This is done by women who have had c-sections, by anyone who has had abdominal surgery .. the other fix is to apply a heating pad to the area every few hours...
pain should subside 7-14 days after surgery, depending on individual pain threshold..
hope you feel better !
