Something stuck, nothing will stay down now....HELP!
The warm tea thing works for me... but if you are still filling like this by tomorrow and you are not able to eat anything or drink your normal amount of fluid go to your Dr. so they can loosen it up so it can pass thru and they will prob. put the fluid back in... be careful and don't sit and wait too long because you may become dehydrated...

Banded on 19th. WHY AM I HUNGRY AND WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?
I was banded May 15m 2008 and my band started working for me in December 2008. It takes a while to get to the point when 2 fork full's will be all you can eat. Some are diffrent but the honest truth for me is that it took almost 7-mths for the band to really start working for me and it really feels good... NOW... LOL so give it some time.. you will have to depend on your own will power for a few months....

I'm Not Telling Anyone I'm Being Banded.....
You know I debated over this before i did it.. because most people will wait until you put something in your mouth and will then say HEY SHOULD YOU BE EATING THAT....and i am a grown woman i dont need for anyone to point out what i am eating... but i told a few people at work and they told someone, and then they mentioned it to someone else but were not convinced that i had had the procedure done because i only took off 4-days. But I know loosing weight is hard as hell and i actually don't mind people coming to me asking me if i had it done because they are thinking about doing it.. If i can help someone i will by sharing my story but for those that want to talk about you in a bad way... naaaa But i do agree with all of you.. it is a personal choice and you may want to keep it to yourself...

Sweet Spot?
What the 'Sweet Spot' means for me is like the last person said.. when you get to that fill point where you can take a few bites and your done. I'm talking about having your dinner on your place and taking a few bites and you are so done... even though you may want to eat it all but just can't. When i realized after my last fill in Feb. that i was at my sweet spot i was actually shocked i thought i would never get there. I think i am at about 8 or so I asked my Dr. and he said that it dosent matter how many cc's it takes to get there as long as you get there... I would definately suggest to keep up with your apts. get weighed in and get the fills. Trust me you will be able to tell when you are at that right spot....

i got that failing feeling :(
I am sure as everyone has already said... give it time... you did not gain it over night so it is not going to come off over night... the reason they give you 1/2 - 1cc at a time is so your stomach can get adjusted to that. You want the weight to stay off when you loose it so don't rush it... Everyone's success story is not the same. I am a slow looser but one thing i can tell you is that i havent gained back 1 pound that i have lost. This is not the biggest looser in the real world you can't workout 8-hours a day... Keep going to your apts. getting your fills and you will be ok... Congrats on the weight you have lost so far...

curious to know
One thing i will say is that you can't trust everything you read. Some of us are honest with the amount of weight we have lost and others are not. Some could be snacking whle posting to the sight..lol.. but don't feed so much into the numbers of what others have put up. If i did i honestly would have given up a long time ago. I read a post where some one that had their sug. the same day as me dropped like 45lbs within 2 mths.... GREAT FREEKN JOB... for them as for me I will take the almost 11lb drop within that 2mth period. My biggest thing is the weight that i have lost is gone and i havent gained any of it back.... So keep doin you and know that anything is possiable...

Feeling discouraged, depressed...etc.
You know I felt like that until i received my last fill.. which was in december***for the first few weeks after the fill it seemed like i was cool then it loosened up and i could eat way more than like you said the recomended amt. When i went to get my last fill in Dec. she show'd me a sample plate of what i should be eating and of course i was like what the hell...lmao r u kidding me... yeah ok. after that fill which was 1cc i couldn't eat anything but a boiled egg thru the entire day.. and i could barly drink liquids.. so i figured i was too tight.. like some they try to tuff it out and prehaps it would get better, but nope.. i had to go back so they could remove some. I am steady loosing now but i was banded in may of 08 and it has taken me to this point where i am loosing steady. Please don't look at others progress and say hey that should be me....No it shouldn't be they are not you and everyone's body is diffrent so just stay up on your fills and cut the snacking out. If you do snack get the 100-calorie packs the weight will come off as long as you are doing your part, but it does take time to get to the sweet spot, and that means if you took another bite of food you would prob. gag..lol well that is how it is for me. Good luck

curious to know
You know it depends on how you work your band, and if you go get the proper restriction. As for myself I will be at a year as of 5-15-09, and I can see major progress within the way i looked last year vs today. It is totally not like the gastric and that kind of disapointed me to be honest, but with the slow weight loss i am not flabby like others i know that have had the gastric done...

Too Tight?
Thanks for the reply.. I am worried about getting enough nutrition. I know I have enough fat on my azz to last me for months as long as i drink fluids, but it is hard for me to drink liquids. I can only take sips of water crystal lyte at a time thinking about drinking it straight down nope.. and that is truly bothering me. I can only take 2 or 3 bites of something and i am full as if i have ate the entire plate + some. If I sip on water all day then i wont eat which what has happened since thursday since i got this fill.. I think i am going to call in so he can take 1/2 of the 1/2 he put in out..
-
Too Tight?
I was thinking the same thing... I have 8cc's in a 10cc band and i thought i was too tight, but as i continue on reading i c that is what restriction really is... Wow.. who would have known.. How do u know when u are too tight?

Banded and Frustrated
U know I was feeling the same exact way. I was able to eat pretty much anything i wanted and finish all of my food, and that is a sign that u need a fill. I did go in to get a fill this past thursday and I can truly say that I feel totally diffrent. I have 7.5cc's in my 10cc band. I know my dr. told me to drink liquids the first day, the next day soft foods, then reg. foods.. I can truly say that I was getting frustrated and thought i had made a mistake but i am thinking totally diffrent now. Excercise is a huge part, but one thing i know is excercise had nothing to do with my eating less and still being hungry the band had everything to do with that. Now if u don't do anything but walk for 30-minutes a day do that any form of excercise will work. Just like one of the other post said if i dont move i wont loose, but the main goal for me was to see if the band was going to work for me and now that i believe I have reached that sweet spot I know the scale is going to drop it like its hotttt lol.. Just hold on and see yr dr. on a reg. basis and be honest with him/her and they will adjust u as needed...

Help! I need some encouragement...
You know one thing that worked for me was a back massager. I put that bad boy on high and laid on it... that does move the gas pains up and out.. u will start to belch and feel a lot better..let me know if it works..
-
Did I make a mistake??
lol.. u know i went thru the same thing.. trust me it does get better.. I have thought about it all... going to the gym more often, just eating less but the band really makes a diffrence once u get the right fill everything will look so diffrent.. just take one day at a time...
-
Help! I need some encouragement...
Congratulations on a new u... The first few days for me were pure HELL.... It does get better just make sure u keep hydrated even if u have to sip on chicken broth or drink some ice tea w/splenda in it or something u need something in your system to keep u alert. It does get better move around and sit up as much as u can.. Also taking regular extended sgth. tylenol works also...

Question: Is it still hard after band??
Oh hell yes.. to me it is just as hard until u get to the proper fill. Once u get there seems seem so freekin brand new. I am going to keep sayin it.. lol.. I am at 7.5cc's and I am truly amazed i am not hungry and it only takes a few fork fulls to fill me up.. OMG... I have never experienced nothing like this. Up until now I thought i had made a mistake that's why i had not visited the board in a while, but i will be the first to tell u it does work... I can't wait until Monday so i can weigh myself. Once u decide to make the change don't let anyone turn u against it. It is truly diffrent from having the will power to do it on your own because if u are always hungry it is impossiabale to loose weight... U can do it..

help i'm putting all my weight back on
Ok i'm a little confused. U were banded in 2006 and u have only had 2 fills? Now if u have only had 2 fills how much does your band hold? also you need to go and have yourself checked out. I know we all think we know how to chew but it definately takes pratice at chewing your food more than 2-3x's then swollowing... What kind of reg. foods have u tried to eat that wont go down?
-
did i make a mistake
U know I was banded on 5-15-08 and thursday i got my 4th fill. I have 7.5cc's or either 8. lol Whatever the case is, is that i really think I am at the 'sweet spot'. It will take time to get there. It is more mental than anything. I would get pissed off because i couldnt eat something or should i say i wanted to eat something that i know i had no business eating.. i felt bad mentally... it is truly a journey and it is not a quick one that is for sure.. Just don't get frustrated u will have good days and not so good days.. Just know that slow and steady wins the race...

2nd fill and now no restrictions
Well I had my 4th fill on Thursday and I am @ 7.5cc's and I can definately feel and tell the diffrence. before when i ate i could eat just about all if not all of my food. Now don't get me wrong my portions have been cut down but I know i didn't have the restriction I wanted.. After thursday... baby This is all good... If this is the sweet spot i am LOVIN IT..... See i have come to realize that when u have the proper restriction u eat a few bites and you are done.. thats why they say eat something every few hours to make sure u get in enough.. but when you can finish all of your food the proper restriction isn't there yet.. U will prob. get to that sweet spot in a few more months.. Keep up the great work it is definately a work in progress...

Wasabubblebutt is in recovery
Wassa I have a question for u.. How long do u have to have the band to know that it dosent work for you? The last time i got a fill i couldn't eat eggs everything got stuck and it is a truly bad feeling. When i was thinking about doing this no one said all of that stuff. Should I talk to my Dr. or do u think i should talk to another Dr. to see if they could take the band out and to do the sleeve honestly I don't want to have to go thru the fills and I haven't lost as much as i feel i should have thus far with the band. Now prehaps I am saying this a little premature cause i was banded in may and it is now late oct. and i havent lost 30-lbs since sugery. I don't want to loose it by starving becasue everything gets stuck... can u help me plz..

B-12 shots anyone?
u know i went to the vitamin shoppe and i got the liquid form of b-12 and it says that it does support energy production. It does work and it also helps to boost your metabolosim to assist in fat loss google is my best friend when it comes to researching things... how it was put to me is when u have more energy u move around more, and when u move around more u will burn more calories which will result in weight loss... see how they connect... but it works for me..

My Story
You need to talk to your mom to let her know how u feel... The band is only a tool and u can still make the same bad food choices with it.... U really have to face your cryptiniote... The things that u fear the most become your giant, and even tho they seem so small they are yet so big... Congrats on the choice to live your life for u...

Is this bandster hell? Please tell me this will end and I will start losing again!!!
U ain't seen bandster hell yet....lol.. trust me... but it takes time to get a proper restriction. What u have to understand is that when u went on your pre-op diet if u had one u had to cut your food intake a lot..and u went thru the phase of liquids only and then soft so that would cause a immediate weight loss...solid food has more weight than liquids so u may have lost but u wont see it yet becuse your system will have to get back to a regular state. for example when u eat just say some mac and cheese and about a hour later drink a 26-24oz of a low sugar bev. that is going to naturally make u seem heavier, but once it comes out u r ok..u know what im sayn..lol..

Drinking before, after and during?
Exactly.. when u dont drink about an hour after u eat it helps to keep u fuller longer... and what i have found out is when i try to drink something right after i have eaten it hurts going down... and that is not a good feeling.. but one thing i can say is that it is really hard not to drink while u eat but pratice makes perfect...

Depressed Newbie
U r not doing anything wrong.. i have felt the same way many times...It could be Water weight, it could be a number of things.. that time of the month... any thing..don't think u actually gained 3-lbs of fat!! that would mean that u would have to consume over 9,600 calories and I know that hasen't happened... take one day at a time i'm sure u are doing ok..

Please Help!!
Exactly what the other post said... Why this happens.. i am not exactly sure.... for me when i eat something and it get sort of stuck going down then i will feel that coming on but i try to shake it off because i hate throwing up.... try to take note of when it happens after certin things u eat cause whatever may cause it prob. wont be something u can continue to eat....
