I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)

Pretty awesome. You look great. Was all that weight loss post surgery? Or is it pre surgery and post surgery combined?

That’s the thing, I don’t want to sound jealous or bitter but she does look malnourished. She is probably like 5 foot 6 if I had to guess.

I have a therapist and a psychiatrist, I take numerous meds and supplements. I have started to identify things that make my depression worse such as diet soda and gluten. I have not tried fish oil yet.

I have that book, I downloaded it but never read it. In addition to all my addiction issues I also suffer from OCD and Major Depressive Disorder. Pretty awesome combination of mental illness and addiction issues. I don’t know how my wife has stood by me for 8 years.

Naw, your joke about methadone is not offensive. I am not some fragile person that cannot take a joke. The only drug I ever struggled with was weed, I still love it. But sadly I cannot use it or it will consume me, all I will want to do is get high. And I don’t mean just a little high, I mean like semi coma high. I am an alcoholic to the bone, I cannot even have one drink or I will drink every day after that. The only option I have is to abstain and stay sober. I used to go to OA about 10 years ago. I never got really that active into it, but liked the meetings. I have found a meeting near my house, but haven’t gone yet. I am a food addict for sure, I will abuse food just like a drug.

I think a better question is, what am I not eating. If any of you want to DM me some ideas as to what your day consists of, I would be very grateful. There used to be a user on here that had lost a ton of weight and he said he had to eat the same thing every day in order to be successful. I am thinking of trying to go that route.

I am an addict, I will abuse anything that makes me feel good. I have struggled with drug addiction and I am an alcoholic. I am sober today and go to AA meetings. Food is the last drug that I have and thus why I ended up weighing 440 pounds. I still get the high from food, the endorphin rush, the pleasure sensors in my brain are triggered.

    Regret

It will get easier. The weight just melted off of me the first 7 months, then I stalled for like 3 months and have since started regaining the weight. The sleeve will work for you if you work it, but it is not magic. You have to make the right choices to be successful. I am currently not making the right choices and have put back on 25 pounds of the 110 I had lost.

    Ohio

I grew up in Bellevue Ohio, near Sandusky and Cedar Point. Went to college at University of Toledo and upon graduation I moved down to Columbus. I lived in Columbus for a few years before I moved out here to PHX. The only things I miss about Ohio are the early fall when all the trees are changing colors and air is fresh and cool and the other thing is fishing on Lake Erie. My mom had a boat we docked out of Marblehead. I was somewhat of a local legend when it came to perch fishing. I miss those days. However, I do not miss freezing my nut sack off in negative temperatures scraping the ice off my car just to drive to work.

    Regret

Exactly, you are on your own path and no one else’s How much weight have you lost in 17 days? Compare that to previous weight loss success you have had. A 3 day stall is nothing, just wait until you hit a 3 month stall like I did. Better yet, you could start gaining the weight back like I am. Regretting your decision is normal, however there is nothing you can do about it now. You cannot have your stomach put back in, your only option is to move forward.

    800 Calories Per Day

I do not believe I would be approved for a gastric bypass, nor would I want to put myself through that process again. The bottom line is I am a food addict and I eat too much. All the newbies on here posting about how little they eat, there was a time that was all I could eat as well. Just wait till you are further out. It will get easier and easier to take in more calories and that is when you will have to have self control.

    800 Calories Per Day

I am 6 foot 1 I don’t exercise at all and have not since I had the surgery. It is hard to find time with 3 kids at home one of which is 5 months old. Having said that, I do need to make better choices and start moving again. I have put on 25 pounds now since my son was born.

    800 Calories Per Day

I am surely eating the wrong foods as I am taking in about 3000 calories per day.

So you are working out as well as diet?

    800 Calories Per Day

No we didn’t really get into all that, she said she just counts her calories. I have said all along I swear my sleeve is too big, not enough restriction but who knows.

She and I are 15 months out

Absolute petrified to step foot inside

You got this. Just walk in with confidence and find the machine you want and start working out. Take your headphones and music and just do your thing. I think you have built it up too much in your head, don’t even think about it.

I would say it depends on the gym. There are some real douchebags at the gym, that will give dirty looks and what not. Especially after the first of the year as they get annoyed with all the people crowding the gym due to New Years resolutions.

    4 month VSG Post-op

I have thought about going to OA Overeaters Anonymous but haven’t yet. I did the sleeve reset diet once and it worked for about a week. I know 90 pounds is good but I was wanting to lose about 150 total.

    4 month VSG Post-op

At 8 months the weight loss stopped. I was stalled for 4 months. Weight gain started around 13 months. I just re did the math and I am 16 months out now. My wife and I have a baby mid July and I have put on 20 pounds since then. I am sure some of it is stress eating, but that is no excuse. Most of it is due to poor choices and lack of exercise.
  21. Walter.Sobchak

    4 month VSG Post-op

Yep. I can eat anything I want now. I still have restriction as far as volume but there is nothing that my sleeve can’t tolerate. Which is not good for a food addict like me. Every day is a challenge, some days I do better than others.
  22. Walter.Sobchak

    4 month VSG Post-op

Good for you, keep up the good work. I am 14 months out. Was down 110 pounds but have put 20 back on.
  23. Walter.Sobchak

    4 month VSG Post-op

How much are you down in those 4 months? Have you lost simply due to restriction? Or have you been exercising as well?
  24. Walter.Sobchak

Absolute petrified to step foot inside

Do you have a Planet Fitness where you live? They are great. They essentially say “no douchebags allowed” makes it much easier to exercise without being embarrassed. As far as how to make yourself go? Let’s see, change into your gym clothes, drive to the gym, lock up your valuables and start working out. You have to force yourself to go. Once you go you will feel better.

    Help, I'm hungry AGAIN!

Ha ha ha, I know dude. Head hunger is total bullshit, I am sick of hearing it as well. I swear to all that is holy I was hungry the morning after surgery.
