  1. Im going to say something alot of the judgemental folk here will probably be mad at me for saying. Go eat what ever the hell u want n desire n get it out of ur system now b4 surgery n b4 ur liver diet. I did, i told my doc n his response was at least i was honest n not to binge, just have small portions of my faves n get it out of my system b4 the 3 week diet pre surgery. So, Decent portions, dont go crazy n have a thanksgiving size plate. Every1 heals differently and after surgery, its a lottery, there may b some foods u may no longer tolerate. Also it will be quite some time b4 u can have n enjoy that "taco", for instance. Yes im new to VSG, 5 weeks out n 30 pds down, get my Protein n Water in, back 2 work n just started light workout for those that will ask n say im to new to know anything. However, everyday im pist i didnt have those damn tacos b4 surgery. They haunt me. So in order not to fail, the taco n i have a 5 de mayo date :-). I looooove Pasta, i had it b4 surgery n got it out of my system, havent even thought about it once in 5 weeks. Get your last supper on, enjoy it, say farewell to it, maybe you'll meet again someday in the future bec once ur post op its serious business. U may stumble but u wont fall flat on ur face bec you'll know it was a long journey to get to this point n u don't want to ruin ur final outcome. Plus ur stomach will kick u in the ass if u try to put something in it its not ready for. Good luck. Hope u appreciate my honesty and that it all goes well for you. See u on the losers bench soon.

Wooooow,@LIA-70 .....perfectly well said!! That's what my friend told me to do also, because it will be ages, if ever, that i can have my current favorite food again!!! Thankfully, my pre-op is only 3 days. MUCH shorter than most... i know i can do this!

  2. Hey there, @ itszee ... i found a great recipe that i already can't wait to try, and i haven't even had the GS yet!!

    ■from Pinterest■
*Chicken broth & Potato Purée – Bring 2 cups chicken Broth to a boil in a small pot. Remove from heat and whisk in Idahoan 100% Potato Flakes one tablespoon at a time until you have a nice smooth almost pourable texture. Add a little more broth if you have added too much potato flake. Season with salt and pepper so it tastes good. You can divide it in half and add a little Parmesan cheese and garlic powder for a second flavor. This is delicious, soothing and very easy for your new tummy to handle."

  3. @berry78 .... VERY true. I don't necessarily get upset, but i do get hurt... however, i rake that very moment to tell them what I weigh.... and the look on their faces changes when they discobee i am over 200 lbs, at this height. THEN they see that i really want this, and they say "you go for it, i'm happy for you" .. so for the most part, it's been okay. And i have a 'speech' prepared for the day I go in.. #IAMREADYBABY

  4. I am 5'1 274lbs...I am not telling anyone but my hustand who supports me because he sees my daily struggles and my 2 nieces who had the surgery. I struggle to walk , to get up in our new truck, just to go to the store and load groceries, to enjoy a leisure walk. I hear the same from my sisters, "you are not that fat, you don't need surgery!!!" YES I AM THAT FAT!
some people just don't understand because they are not in the body you live in and struggle in every effing day!!
I am doing this for me and screw the naysayers!!!
Excuse me getting a little wild with the words but hey I don't know about ya'll but inside I scream all the time" I want out of this prison that is called my my body!!!!!"
No one, no one understands unless they have been there. That is why I find comfort and support from reading the stories and seeing the results of everyone here. I also look at countless YouTube videos and say to myself. That is going to be me. I am going to have that same face of joy and excitement as I see on everyone else.
You stay strong, push on, and go for that brass ring!!!!my surgery will not be until August and I cannot wait!!!!

  5. I'm getting prepared for my surgery on Feb 21st - I haven't exactly been shy avout telling frienda/coworkers about what I'm doing. But i AM shocked at how many say I don't need this... i don't think they understand that being 4'11" and 205 lbs is NOT fine. It doesn't matter, because this is for ME, not them; but just wondering how many other P.S's there are that may have heard this?? [i hide it VERY well....lol]
