  1. Hi everyone!

So its been exactly 6 months since my surgery. I started out with 220 pounds, and now im 149. (150 is my nuts goal, i might want to keep losing a little more).

Through excercising and training, i have managed to do things i never thought my body could do like run for more than 1 mile now, or go up the stairs all the 11 floors to work.

At my highest i couldnt fit in my size 14 and xl clothes, now i wear size 8/6 and s/m

    I couldnt be happier.

  2. Hi everyone.

This may be a silly question but, how do you keep track of what you eat?

Im 3 weeks out and my nut has not set a calorie or Protein goal yet. But i read that most of you, do have one. I would like to know how much im eating of what just to know how i am doing but have no idea how to.

I have myfitnesspal but i dont think it is that accurate since i dont weight or measure the ingredients of my meals. (Ive cooked myself everything ive eaten so far)

So please share how you do it.

  3. Comparison is a recipe for disaster and disappointment. I feel like a broken record saying this on these forums, but everbody and every BODY is different. If you are doing everything you are supposed to do and following your plan, you will lose weight. How quickly you do so is unbelievably irrelevant in the long run. I promise! I "only" lost 15 pounds my first month. I "only" lost 8 pounds my second month. I "only lost 5-6 pounds a month for several months after that. I "only" lost 2 pounds a month for several months after that. You know where all those "only"s got me? To goal where I've been maintaining for almost 16 months.

I promise you that I have never once looked back and thought to myself "too bad I didn't reach goal a month earlier like so-and-so did." It genuinely makes ZERO difference if you lose all the weight in 6 months or in 16 months. What matters is that you stick to the plan, get to goal, and then spend YEARS and YEARS living your happier, healthier life.

This isn't a diet. You will never be "done" with your sleeve. So there is no race to the "finish" line. This is the rest of your life!

    I totally loved this.

Thanks. Going to copy that last paragraph to my journal.

  4. I had my surgery Jan 10th, the past 4 days I have just maintained. Anyone else seeing this? Surgery weight was 220 and today 205

Mine was the 7th. Was losing about 1.5lbs a day at first. Last 5 days, less than 0.5lbs a day. I barely eat and walk 2 miles a day or more. Ive been reading about the "3rd week stall" .. maybe we are going through it?

  5. I know exactly how you feel... Water hurts!!

I've been flavouring mine with lemon, orange or lime cordial (not sure what the US calls it) but get sick of the sweet flavour.

Yesterday I cut a fresh lime into wedges and that helped immensely. I was able to consume 700ml of Water in just under an hour whilst waiting for a blood test.

A nurse told me that adding cordial etc changes the pH of the water and makes it easier to digest.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks! It feels good to know im not the only one at this.

Water with lime does seem refreshing! But my NUT said no citrics yet. Im going to give her a call tomorrow to see if she can let me have it.

    Thanks a lot for sharing!!!

  6. Hi everyone!

Im 12 days out and everything seems to be going just fine.. except drinking Water.

Water makes my stomach so heavy, it just doesnt sit well. I feel thristy all the time and miss havibg a glass of water :(

I know i can have other drinks but it bugs to always have a sweet flavor in my mouth.

I never thought i say this but the only thing i have cravings for is Water!!

Please share if you had the same complication and if it ever went away? Also what do you drink at this stage instead of pure water?

  7. I don't really have trouble either, but I'm still at a liquid stage. And when I add up my calories they're always at 600 or so, and I feel pretty satisfied around there. Check how many calories you're taking in. Im sure not enough to worry about.
