  1. this happened for me too! I was sleeved on June 20 and that feeling is pretty much gone. Hang in there! I couldn't even eat Jello. My surgeon said it's because of the swelling from the procedure. Itll get better in the next week or so ;)

  2. I remember feeling scared too. Just remember why you're doing it! You will be a
Sore afterwards buts that's all you will remember. You will be taken care of and will be so proud of yourself in the end. Remember, it's such a small period of time for prep and recovery compares to.the rest of your life happy with the choices you made! Good luck!

  3. Hi everyone, I was sleeved on Tuesday the 20th and every time I cough or sneeze it feels like the skin about an inch above my belly button is on fire and/or splitting. I'm hoping it's not a hernia. The burning sensation is unreal! I wear my binder and cough with pillows but it still causes excruciating pain. Has anyone else experienced this? Tia

  4. How was it? Better or worse than you expected ? My surgery is on Tuesday, and I am NERVOUS!

The procedure itself was a lot better than expected recovery is worse. I had my gallbladder out in 2011 and was thinking it would be similar but my torso is on fire. Just stay in top of your meds! It's been 3 days and it's beginning to subside. Best of luck!

Same here! But my soreness is in my thighs oddly. The other stuff I can handle ... lots of vomiting first day but now sore. Have you been discharged? I haven't yet

Yes I was discharged yesterday morning. My pain is in my abdomen. It's hard to stand while sitting. I miss the IV pain meds for sure! Good luck with everything! I hope you get to go home soon!

  6. My perseverance and dedication has paid off. I was sleeved yesterday and it's hard to believe. I lost 25 lbs during my pre op diet and was amazed. I can't wait to see what the future holds! Cheers to the skinny life ahead!

  7. I just need some encouragement. I've been on my pre op diet for almost 2 weeks and haven't cheated once. I have surgery tues 6.20. I'm at my nephews bday party and there is so much food and everyone's eating and having a great time and I'm so hungry! I'm chugging my Protein Drink like there s no tomorrow but it's mentally taking a toll on me. I feel so left out. I'm hanging out outside to resist temptations. I'm almost there. 1. More. Day.

  8. Yes Premier Protein is a brand. It was recommended by my Dr. It has 30 grams of Protein, 160 calories and 1 or 2gm sugar. It fills you up but is only 11 1/2 oz., and you don't have to mix it!!! [emoji4] The chocolate and Carmel are my favorites, but strawberry and banana creme are pretty good. I haven't seen a Cookies and creme flavor but I would try it it there was. I just bought vanilla for a variety. I have never tried it.
I've made it through 6 days now with no cheating and haven't been hungry. The monotony is the hard part. As of last night I have lost about 8 lbs in 5 days! I'm good with that!! I'm on the down hill slope now!!

I drink premier protein clear. It's fruit punch flavored, 16.9 ounces. It has 20 grams of protein, 90 calories and no sugar. It's what I've been living on!

  9. I got my surgery date yesterday! It's June 20th. I have a class next Monday to learn more in depth about the pre-op necessities but would like to start my pre-op diet now to get a good 2 weeks in before surgery. I have the basic outline but I need more examples of what the pre-op diet includes. Could you guys please give me a general outline for what your pre-op diet is? Thanks so much!

  10. HI i live in the upper part of Michigan i am looking to see if there is anyone else in my area that would like support or help me. I need some support and motivation to help me get back on track.

Hey there! I'm from down state but I love it up there. Pictured rocks is one of my favorite places to go! Good luck with everything!

  11. I know I know, this topic is beating a dead horse but it's my first post here and everything for BCBSM that I could find was almost 10 years old! :) I have BCBSM and have my last of my consecutive appts next week. My paperwork will then be submitted to my insurance company. What is everyones experience with the approval process for BCBS of Michigan? My surgeons office told me they only have 15 days to consider it but I'm hoping for (but not relying on) a much quicker response! Thanks everyone! It's great to be part of the group!
